Easy to tell you take pride in your work. And so do I. Started when I was 13, 52 now almost 40 years in construction. It's always nice to see that some people still care about doing quality work
I used to have a van setup similar to this. I've found that having a setup this exact makes it hard when you accumulate more tools over the years - as its hard to find a free spot to store them.
Nice job. I've got the same van ,and have just finished re-fitting it out , as i wasn't happy with my first attempt either. It took about 50 hours . Probably 30 hrs actual construction time , and 20 hrs just staring at it , wondering what to do !
Your videos are very fun to watch, not just for the things you do, but also for the humour, the fun mood created by the light-hearted music, and the little gags you sprinkle in.
Pure satisfaction to watch a skilled tradie doin his job. Drawers are a really good investment. Nothing more annoying than throwing all In the Ute and don’t find it anymore later. It’s just a huge time optimization if everything has its own space. I didn’t build a setup like this but store my stuff in boxes, it’s the non-carpenter-solution for now haha. Good job mate
loving the videos Scott. I looked up building tips and all I saw were fortnite videos, but then came across your channel. the how-to's are gold. (door hanging, frame straightening etc). It can be hard as an apprentice to learn everything we would like to as quick as we need to as it seems some employers are more concerned about making coin (which is understandable) than properly training their employees properly. I like that I can see how some things are done from your channel, I like how you emphasized the wooden handle hammers helping with elbow pain, as that was an issue for me nailing on weatherboards all the time, almost to the point where I had to stop because of injury. (I am now looking to invest in one). I like your tool comparisons (nailers) and other options (Rz masks, Japanese saws, dust extractors etc). I didn't know that dust extractors were compulsory (good piece of legal info). I think maybe for newbies, it may be worth mentioning how to use certain tools like a router? I have never used one but I am interested. I realize there may be other sources to find those videos but it may be beneficial to your channel and help to gain a wider audience? (just a thought). anyway I loved the van fitout video, I just wish you broke it down a tad more. (a comprehensive list of materials in the video description maybe? steps of build in more detail) though i understand that it can be quite difficult taking the extra time to do that while running a business. Thanks for the quality, clean content. I hope your channel does well.
thanks for the vid mate - helps me out quit a bit on my minivan fit out - props to you in your design, yes it takes far too long. Side note my son went sky diving in New Zealand last new years day - beautiful island you have
Quality video, very underrated with regards to the amount of time filming/ editing this! Keen to get my own van from work and fit it out similar to this!
Wtf? How great are these videos. I just can’t stop watching this! Man, you’re the Casey Neistat of the jobsite/ carpentery/ tools videos. I’d love to have these type of cars, an pasionable craftsmans in my country, where just few years ago craftsman was appreciated equally as salesmans or warehousemans. Just because the people like you, I’ve chosen to be the craftsman.. Big thanks to the time, you have to spend with your videos.
I absolutely love your videos, my kids do too! You're beyond talented! You've inspired me to buy more tools, halfway leave me job and want to move to New Zealand, LOL. I hope I can learn to do a quarter of the things you can do. Keep up the amazing videos!
The best setup I have ever seen was a guy who bought a mini bus, he decked it out with shelving down both sides for all his tools. Being a mini bus he can stand comfortably in the back. He can also fit 6.0m lengths of timber inside the mini bus and close the rear door.
vzgsxr I have a crafter Luton that’s 5.5m in the back and 2.5m high and I’ve kitted it out and I wouldn’t work out of any other van , the roof let’s light in so it’s nice and bright inside and with the tail lift I use that as a work bench ! Also when it’s closed up and locked it just looks like a removal van it’s doesn’t look like it might have kit inside
Great work and like the different style of storage draws with space on top. Mine is more like Cameron's style but about to do refit again for same reason as yours. Little bit more detail would be great if you do any more like this bro so we can all have some 💡moments
Scott can you easily fit and 8x4 sheet in there? I’m in the market for a new van and I’m fairly tempted by yours and the set up you’ve gone for! Let me know buddy. Cheers
Scott, I love your setup. I want to do exactly same one. Can you please help me with the sizes of everything so I can do the same as yours and tell everyone you supplied me the design. Please bro. I really want the exact setup.
You have Roofus! Have you done any videos on it? Keep up the awesome work! My van needs an over haul I just don’t have the weeks weeks it would take me to do it 😂 plumber not a chippy!
Mate a question. I’ve got a Westfalia camper with a space under the bed base at the back that’s 750 wide, 650 deep and 350 tall. Am I best splitting it into two narrower drawers or keep them wider ? And also should I frame out the exterior of the “hole” and then fit drawers inside or just go with friction sliding on the floor ? It’s not used much but if it worked better than just the hole I have I’d probably use it for my tools (I’m a sparks and use this as my work van). Thanks mate. Sean
Excellent job!! I have always put power tool boxes on end like books instead of stacked Easier to see & grab the tool you want without having take out the box on top of the box you need But I understand that those Makita boxes are designed to stack
Any good ideas have heaps of loose tools in plastic boxes in divided areas but seems a waste of space also where did you get those roller track and lock system for the draws
Hi Scott, Like what you have created with the vancfit out, did you/ do you have plans for this and are they available for a fee? Be keen but not sure where to start.
you know what would look cool in this van fit out.... Kaizen foam for all your tools so you can find everything really easy, and you wouldnt need all the bulky tool cases anymore :)
Being from the US, I'm not familiar with that brand of van. Do you think the suspension is stout enough to support all the weight of your kit and fit out? I've wasted two vehicle transmissions and rear suspensions by overloading them with my kit. I finally bought a Toyota Tundra crew cab long bed which I love, and will take as much weight as I'll ever put in it, but with a topper that has fixed side windows, it makes accessing my tools a right pain! I've since put in a bed slide, but found that tools always fall off and I have to climb in to the back to retrieve whatever fell off as it keeps the bed slide from closing again. I'd love to scale down and get something smaller, but that has a beefy suspension.
The Toyota Hiace is I would of thought the most popular van in the world. At least here in Australia they are far and away the most popular.. They are specifically designed with heavy cargo in mind.
Thats a pretty sick van Scott the vans are the best for carpenty in my mind. All tools inside and dry. Loads of storage and still able to pull a load in a trailer. Put stuff on the roof and they even come with a small canopy. Love the vids . Whats your editing platform? Thanks for the videos filled with content and entertainment. 👍🏻
Yeah they work well. I ordered them online af Fullie Hardware. I got the 1000mm ball bearing sliders www.fullie.co.nz/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1NzZBRCoARIsAIaMwutj7eDvbZdRpfVu_E72RJIYQYNzLCju2WeAGDMjRcfPDeQtYD1cC90aAhs9EALw_wcB
I did a van fit out, and I'm not an experienced carpenter such as yourself, so I made a lot up as I went along. One thing I could have benefited from is a good video on how to install drawer slides, how much clearances you should have' and also how much far should the sliders be fixed, just in depth on how measurements should be done, and lastly if you were doing a 1200 mm box and you wanted only a 600 mm to go in but wanted the box to retract into its housing all the way in.
That's exactly what I had in mind for my car reality was I spent about an hour on a Saturday and made a real budget job out of old fencing palings lol lol . Sort of as long as it works attitude lol . Awesome job mate . And a bit of inspiration for me to make my one properly lol
Easy to tell you take pride in your work. And so do I. Started when I was 13, 52 now almost 40 years in construction. It's always nice to see that some people still care about doing quality work
That is a sweet setup. I love to see every space serving a purpose, while keeping everything neat.
I used to have a van setup similar to this. I've found that having a setup this exact makes it hard when you accumulate more tools over the years - as its hard to find a free spot to store them.
That is dope. I'm an apprentice carpenter and getting myself a HiAce shortly to cut out just like this.
Nice job. I've got the same van ,and have just finished re-fitting it out , as i wasn't happy with my first attempt either. It took about 50 hours . Probably 30 hrs actual construction time , and 20 hrs just staring at it , wondering what to do !

what van is that?

Great videos. Your style is very easy on the eye. Clever van fit out. You have a way of making these tasks look extremely easy.
Your videos are very fun to watch, not just for the things you do, but also for the humour, the fun mood created by the light-hearted music, and the little gags you sprinkle in.
Good job carpenter there’s nothing better then keeping your tools organized for the jobs
I’m fitting out my van and using yours as inspiration it’s that good. Love the fact everything is hidden away
Pure satisfaction to watch a skilled tradie doin his job. Drawers are a really good investment. Nothing more annoying than throwing all

Thank you mate
Nice job Scott. I'm looking to build a similar setup to your van. I use the DeWalt Tstak system so will be able to do a similar job.
Always love watching someone that loves their trade, regardless of what it is.
Dude that's the best van fit out I've ever seen!
That's a great way of making of the most of the space for sure
That’s really nice bro. Inspiring. Learned a lot just watching how you did this.
Thank you 🎉

Excellent choice of music at the end. Double thumbs up.
so many ideas for my builders trailer fitout! cheers from across the ditch
Nicely done! Taking it to the next level separates you from the others to your customers!
Quality video, very underrated with regards to the amount of time filming/ editing this! Keen to get my own van from work and fit it out similar to this!
Mate your incredible! I don’t even have a van but was thinking of getting one and imagining how I’d create my shelf’s ect but this is just brilliant
First video I've seen of yours, great build, editing, and song choices my dude. Keep it up! Subbed
I love your style Scott, nice job and nice tool choice!
Just about to take on something very similar for my van . Hope it ends up this good

You have just inspired me to fit out my van properly!
Never say never I guess. Time to watch the next one.... another great vid. Love watching your stuff
Thanks, man. Will copy your design to my van. Solute from a 3rd year tradie + draftsman in Auckland.
Great filming mate, and a great fit out, though now you've created all that extra space you'll have to buy some more tools!!
My concern is all that heavy wood. I'm thinking of using tin studs for partitions and balsa wood if possible 😂
Vans just make more sense than a ute. Utes are super cool but vans are just more practical and secure.
I want fit my van out like this cheers bro.

“It took far too long I’m not doing this again.”
Fine work as always !
Bro that's awesome. I didn't go to that full extent with my van fit out but now I wish I did. On ya bro!!
Your choice of music ( underground hip hop style ) was what made me subscribe... you are definitely motivating for me to get a work van now
Gradually making my way through the episodes can’t get enough! lol joiner myself, would happily work for free with you and Paerau
Awesome build!!! Love the way you built around what you already have to fit your needs. I'm looking to do something similar to my truck. Cheers!
nice work, but we all know after one or two jobs it takes about half day to get back to organized again.
So true
👌 sweet set up, agreed, after a bit with more gear and less time it always turns to a drop and grab cluster 🤦🏻♂️
no no, a place for everything and everything in it's place...well, that's the theory .
Not if you are a heterosexual carpenter
Great job! Thanks for sharing 👍
Scott can you easily fit and 8x4 sheet in there? I’m in the market for a new van and I’m fairly tempted by yours and the set up you’ve gone for! Let me know buddy. Cheers
what a nice setup
Hey Scott, I am a flooring installer and a great thing for cleaning up that contact adhesive is fuelite we use it all the time.
Perfect friend.It's very clever
Won't the color black make it harder to find stuff in general since it's dark back in the van? Just my thought :)
Great fit out Scott .
U know what i like? Parking on hills :3
Clever setup! Might have to copy that with some modifications according to my tools of course. What are the speccs for the rails, do you know?
It looks so perfect.
Awesome work dude
Scott, I love your setup. I want to do exactly same one. Can you please help me with the sizes of everything so I can do the same as yours and tell everyone you supplied me the design. Please bro. I really want the exact setup.

Great job her practical....I'm dying to find the time to do something similar
Great job fella bet you hate it when people park up close to rear doors on a job tho
amazing man, happy 100k. you rock.
Wow so well thought out: How is it now? I did see the new drawer. Well Done
Thanks Scott, its similar to my van setup but a lot better. Just started watching your videos, Im based in Dunedin. I'm taking notes mate. Cheers.
Hi Scott, how thick is the plywood for those drawers mate. Thank you from AU.
Lovely Job friend!! Looks great!
Build Guild n’ Refine TV thanks mate
Nice Job Scott.
Great set up !
Do something like this, for smaller cars like kombi/estate and hatchback. This will be more challenging :D
Just did my van during lockdown . Would love some rails
www.fullie.co.nz/collections/drawers-runners/products/ball-bearing-runner-227kg-650mm-set
Cool build out
Good job 💯🎯 any reason why you didn’t make the drawer sides higher?.... Excellent work!
Hello good job bro...
Just a question what is your systèm for close the drawer ?
Thanks...
Top job, awesome fit out, have you got a link to the sliders on draws?
Excellent job!!
I have always put power tool boxes on end like books instead of stacked
Easier to see & grab the tool you want without having take out the box on top of the box you need
But I understand that those Makita boxes are designed to stack
Just WOW well done good editing and good personality 🤗
Looks good, dollars to donuts his tools wind up in compound buckets!
Any good ideas have heaps of loose tools in plastic boxes in divided areas but seems a waste of space also where did you get those roller track and lock system for the draws
Hi Scott,
Like what you have created with the vancfit out, did you/ do you have plans for this and are they available for a fee?
Be keen but not sure where to start.
did you find a big weight difference by using such heavy plywood?
Looks mint.
Love this mate. Great build, great editing, subscribed. Shame about the no more van builds, #vanlife conversions are popular right now.
you know what would look cool in this van fit out.... Kaizen foam for all your tools so you can find everything really easy, and you wouldnt need all the bulky tool cases anymore :)
How much would it roughly cost to make one of this ?
Cheers
Fantastic 🤙🏽
Any tips on how to cut around the wheel arches for the bottom piece of ply?
Start with an offcut and keep cutting the rough shape until it fits, then trace it onto your final ply sheet.
Very cool! Wish I could be that organised :D
One question though: Why the felt? I imagine all sorts of sawdust and debris will get caught in it?
Awesome job man. I'm Gunna give it ago
What thickness ply you using, what type of ply and also how much did it all cost to make? Chur 🤙
Hey bro, did u screw the ply to the van floor?
Do you have some generic plans I can use
Being from the US, I'm not familiar with that brand of van. Do you think the suspension is stout enough to support all the weight of your kit and fit out? I have those Skull Candy headphones 😎👍
What headphones do you use? And do they protect from louf noises as well? Looking to pick up a pair for my shop.

Vert good job dude. A lot of store space. Greeting from belgium. You Just won à New membre for your channel. Keep going.
Awesome mate 👍 didn't think there were any good kiwi chippys haha maybe you just send all the bad ones to Australia
Did you leave a hole to loosen your spare tyre off?
Can you tell me where you get those drawer rails? that's looks so good. Thanks.
Yeah they work well. I ordered them online af Fullie Hardware. I got the 1000mm ball bearing sliders www.fullie.co.nz/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1NzZBRCoARIsAIaMwutj7eDvbZdRpfVu_E72RJIYQYNzLCju2WeAGDMjRcfPDeQtYD1cC90aAhs9EALw_wcB
