I just finished Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and loved it! It’s not a traditional romance, and that’s probably why I enjoyed it so much. Hope you read it soon :) happy reading
I highly recommend the Daughter of No Worlds trilogy! It’s such an interesting world and I loved the characters! I read them on KU because the physical books were just too heavy to comfortably read but I read them pretty quick coz they kept me entertained and had really good cliffhangers!
I‘d be down for a vlog where you read books you‘re scared of! 😂 we gotta overcome the fear and check them off our lists! I think what influences me the most is when a lot of people love or hate a book and the opinions are widely known so I get pressured to feel the same about it. I think Magnolia Parks is something you really have to get used to, the first one was a one star for me but the second one was a 4.25 already! 😅 Also for me Iron Flame wasn‘t that bad as everyone said, I just found it to be waaay too long since it was 960 pages in German! Maybe you could listen to the audio book for some of the books you‘re scared of, that mostly helps me! 😊
I borrowed Lessons In Chemistry from the library and I dnf'ed it so fast. I think the writing is so bad and bland, sure somewhat interesting plot and all but I think the adaptation might be the winner in this case, and I've only seen clips of it
The Nightingale is definitely very good but sad. Babel is incredible my first 5/5 this year. The world building is 🤌 also kinda sad but somehow still worth it. Sense and Sensibility I found incredibly confusing lol. Pride and prejudice is really good. I've read it multiple times and watched a UA-cam series on it (it's called the Lizzie Bennett diaries, there's 100 short episodes and it's a modern take but with the same plot. 10/10)
Instead of focusing on how scarily large some of these books are try to think about potentially getting stuck into a world and characters that you love for a longer period of time. 😊
The poppy war is the best. Incredible writing, plot, morally grey characters, politics. Just go for it !!!! And Babel is also genius. Just take your time with it, and you’ll be fine ❤
babel was actually pretty easily readable for me! definitely covers heavy topics but the actual text wasn't confusing and the magical/translation aspect was reasonably easy to comprehend so please don't be intimidated!
also jane austen is a great place to start for classics, i would recommend the audio to listen or tandem read as it helps with the humour/tone of the dialogue
I enjoyed The Poppy War and gave me Mulan vibes, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue was fun emotional read, I have been wanting to read The Shadow of the Gods and Ninth House, and when it comes to Iron Flame I was avoiding anyone talking about that book until I was finished reading it myself because I wanted to make my own opinion. Good luck with trying to read a few or all of these books.
I read the Knockemout series first when I found online book community. I loved 2 out 3 books, but tbh looking back they were horrible, and I never want to read a book by her ever again....:)
You have so many good books on here!! For me shadow and bone was good, it just wasn’t anything special. Maybe you can try to do a reading vlog where you read books from this video!
I'm so scared of Babel 😂 You described how I feel. Heard nothing but good things but how it's described as an overly intellectual fantasy gives me pause. Also scared of Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow for different reasons but I feel everyone and their mother has already read it😢 Fahrenheit I read and honestly its an easier read than it seems. It's actually quite entertaining and a fast read. Little women is super cute and good vibes like a warm bath. I've been meaning to buy The Invisible life of Addie la Rue for a while vut haven't yet. Lessons in Chemistry is very enjoyable, I would recommend the audiobook! But you can always watch the miniseries adaptation instead🤫 I didn't like Iron Flame as much as Fourth Wing but it was honestly still fun and easy to read.
I HIGHLY recommend listening to the audio book for Addie LaRue. Especially if you're doing a road trip or some traveling. It's narrated by Julia Whelan❤
shadow and bone is one of my favourite series!! it gets better as the books go on. the worldbuilding is so good and interesting in the grishaverse. super good to read in autumn/winter💗
The classics! The last three are some of my favorites!! ❤📚📚❤️ I'm reading Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens right now, 928 pages! 😅 Circe was beautifully done. I didn't like Lessons in Chemistry, but I listened to it on audio, so I wasn't sure if that made a difference or not. I look forward to Daughter of No Worlds.
Babel has also been on my shelves for way too long... But you should definitely read Jade City, it's actually not difficult to understand at all. I've read it pretty quickly and you get really attached to the characters. The invisible life of Addie Larue was pretty slow and underwhelming for me but the writing is beautiful :)
I’m afraid that I might feel the same about Addie larue but I hope not🤞🏻 and okay jade city really intimidates me but that makes me feel better about it!
The Nightingale, The Great Alone, Firefly Lane, and The Women were all 5 stars for me(Fly Away was 4 stars)... I also gave The Four Winds by her 5 stars... I LOVED The Poppy War Trilogy... it is inspired by the Second Sino-Japanese War which was quite brutal and you get that brutality in this series... The people who say Addie LaRue is slow are just WRONG... You need to read it RIGHT NOW...Right after you read my comment 😉 I loved Lessons In Chemistry & Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow... Both 5 stars... Let me recommend the audiobook for T and T and T 🎧 I'm currently complaining about the length of The Boys of Tommen series but I finished Binding 13 and currently reading Keeping 13 and loving it, but wishing these books were a bit shorter... Ninth House I recently finished and I LOVED it(No desire to read Shadow & Bone or Six of Crows) Jade City(The Green Bone Saga) is my FAVORITE Fantasy Series... It's complicated if you don't read high fantasy... There's a lot of political maneuvering and people to keep track of... You don't have to be smart, just a good reader... Priory of the Orange Tree was actually a really good stand alone fantasy(of course, she went and released a prequel that I need to read) Oh, and I was just at Murder By The Book and Riley Sager & Lucy Foley are doing signings this month... You have to go down there and preorder their new books and then when you go for the signing they will give you the book and a number(in case you're interested)
I personally loved the Shadow and Bone series.
I hope I do!!
The Poppy war is amazing :D AMAZING.
I am also scared of Magnolia Parks. So I feel you
I need to just sit down and read MP soon I can’t keep putting it off!
I just finished Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and loved it! It’s not a traditional romance, and that’s probably why I enjoyed it so much. Hope you read it soon :) happy reading
I didn’t even know there was romance in it!
I highly recommend the Daughter of No Worlds trilogy! It’s such an interesting world and I loved the characters! I read them on KU because the physical books were just too heavy to comfortably read but I read them pretty quick coz they kept me entertained and had really good cliffhangers!
I already have them downloaded on my kindle because I could not read this big things physically🤣 I’m glad you liked them!!

Same!! And okay I’ve heard a few people say that about magnolia parks so I’ll go into the first one with that in mind
I borrowed Lessons In Chemistry from the library and I dnf'ed it so fast. I think the writing is so bad and bland, sure somewhat interesting plot and all but I think the adaptation might be the winner in this case, and I've only seen clips of it
Yeah I’m thinking I might get rid of it.. we’ll see🤷🏼♀️
@@MaddysLibrary You could read the first chapter and see how it is. I believe it's a pretty short chapter 🤔 I can't quite remember
I’m scared to read magnolia parks too 😳 Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 are both really good though!
I didn’t realize so many people love Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 now I’m more excited for them!

I think I’ll try audiobook for sense and sensibility maybe it’d be easier to understand. Nightingale and babel are super high up on my list!!
@@MaddysLibrary I would definitely recommend listening to the audiobook. That's how I read it:)

Thank you for the babel encouragement! And great idea listening to classics on audiobook I’ll have to try that❤️
John Gwynne is fantastic! Is books are long but the writing is fast paced! I definitely recommend his books!
Ok thank you!! I feel a bit better now🤣
So is this you new tbr❤❤❤ jk you go girl read what you think you will like and get rid of everything else that you know that's never going to happen.
LOL but I really do need to prioritize so many of these!!

Thank you!! I’m glad you liked a couple of these. Curious about iron flame👀 but I need to read it and find out what I think
I want to buy and read The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue but I'm scared too
I’m glad I’m not the only one!
@@MaddysLibrary !! 😬😂

LOL oh nooo
@@MaddysLibrary I mean some love her books but idk after reading more books I don't feel like I love them the same 😭
I kind of want to read books by Olivie Blake but also like ahhh idk I can't ???
She intimidates me🫣
@@MaddysLibrary Same here!
I feel the same way about the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin that's staring at me from my bookshelf as you do about Jade City😂
Omg I should’ve included those too I’m also scared of them haha

Yes I definitely want to do a reading vlog for some of these! I hope I like shadow and bone🫣
Oh no!!! Fahrenheit-451 is a gem!!!!! If you like dystopian themes, you'll enjoy it!!
Ok I gotta read it then!
I have read Magic Hour by Kristen Hannah so if you want avoid her historical fiction first. The Nightingale was good.
I haven’t heard of that one!

Maybe I should get rid of lessons in chemistry🤔 and ok I need to give the classics a try soon!
I loved fourth wing and I finnaly read iron flame I was very disappointed
I’m afraid I will be too😭
Don’t be scared of Madeline Miller’s writing! It is poetic, but also very straightforward and not overly wordy.
Ok thanks that makes me feel better!
Circe is a good read - FYI there is a character guide in the back of the book
That’s good to know thanks!!
