Damn, I did not expect this video to be as informative in so many areas of PC hardware as it was. I love seeing the struggle of figuring out how to combine new hardware with old parts.
This is an extremely well engineered build, with exacting component selection backed by a clear confidence of knowledge and experience. From compensating for specifics of the case and platform through to adjusting memory voltages to stabilize a slight overclock, she spits facts and knowledge without batting an eyelash. Even though that could be done for good effect, because they are nice lashes, and there are also ruffles, and curls. This is amazing content and we need more. :)
You have come a long way. I remember your beginnings, and you sound like a pro now... awesome! You have so much more confidence when speaking now compared to when you started. Glad to see you're still doin your thing.
Welcome back! Edit: That rabbit hole thou. Tbh I was ashamed I never checked for the difference. Just went on a little hunt myself, but realized my PSU is safe for 230v in the Platinum category on Cybernetics 230v. :D So thank you for reminding us again in the video and a very beautiful build.
Wow, Lauren you really just got the best GPU length for that case! Love the info on the PSU ratings too! I’ll have to keep an eye out for that in the USA! Great video as always! Cheers!!!
Hey Lauren, it's Yoga from GEEKOM, a marketer representing a company that's been eco-friendly mini PCs strong for 13 years, partnering with heavyweights like Intel and ASUS. Truth be told, I reached out to propose a paid video collab, but couldn't find your email, so here I am leaving you a message instead-hope that's cool! I caught wind of your post on Patreon last year, and I gotta say: Hey there, Little Lauren! We get it, this creator biz ain't no cakewalk, especially in the marketing world. But girl, props for your honesty and perseverance! Falling short on upload plans doesn't diminish your efforts one bit. Setting a goal of 12 videos for TastyPC in 2024 is mighty impressive, and we're all about backing you up on that. Go get 'em!🌹🌹
Nice video. Nice upgrade. Yes Cybenetics is a newer standards for PSU's - it might get more adapted after it's been out longer. Maybe the 2 standards could maybe merge and come up with a newer more robust set of ratings. Keep up the good work in these well done videos.
@@TastyPC There is a UA-cam channel that presented a 3D-printed adapter frame that allows one to attach two Noctua fans to many graphics cards. Very cool project!
I learnt something - watch out for power supply rating as a function of local voltage. THank you ! I love the case and its fundamental cooling concept. What is the brand/name of it?
Is there something similar being made now? The "wind tunnel" is an awesome idea that's come to my mind occasionally ever since your original vid @@TastyPC
With three dogs and two cats, my PC looks like your before pic right after I first turn it on. You'd probably be horrified to see it now. (I'm kinda terrified to open it up myself, TBH. Cooling performance be damned! 😅) Nice, clean-looking build you have there. Thanks for the bit about power efficiency ratings. I live in the US, but mixing and matching of those badges does still present a problem I didn't know about. 👍
I love this Case and Wind Tunnel you've built. I recently watched the original build videos, because I'm really interested in using those 200mm noctuas. I'm thinking of doing a small mod to get them to fit myself, due to the confidence you gave me to attempt it! So glad to see it getting an upgrade!
One of the benefits of a modular power supply that I don't hear mentioned often is that if you switch to a new PSU that uses the same cables, you can replace it without having to rewire your entire case. So if you decide to make the jump to that as-yet unreleased PSU, you'd only have to route the newer 12V cable for the GPU instead of the whole system.
The reason it isn't mentioned often is because you can never trust PSU brands as there is no guarantee that the pin-outs are the same for PSUs - even same brand doesn't mean its safe.
@@marknewellmusic Corsair publishes tables showing which cables are compatible with which PSU model. It is not as problematic as you make it out to be.
As a fellow SL600M owner myself, it was quite entertaining to watch you struggle with that beautiful and big yet very space restricted case. I managed to fit 3090 FE in it, leaving maybe two milimeters of space between the card and PSU shroud. If that wasn't enough, I also mounted a 360mm radiator on top, with 6 fans in push/pull configuration. As for PSU, I went with Seasonic Focus ATX 3.0 which is only 140mm in length which is set to the lowest position so that AIO tubes don't collide with it. It's been working quite decent although I'm heavily considering swapping the 200 mm fans for something more powerful, Noctua sadly won't do as those fans have very similar performance to stock CM fans. I absolutely love this case but i wish it was a little bigger on the inside.
I did love the 200mm fan concept and after seeing your original video, looked at the same case, but none were available. I ended up going with Cooler Master Haf 700 evo and have 2x 200mm in front and 2x 200mm in top with 400 x 200 radiator. The cooling is epic and the pc is near silent
That wind tunnel case design of yours was always my favorite. I am going to try an mATX route because for the most part I really do not need the space for my personal game and dev rig.
Why do vertical cpu cooler orientation. You’re pulling the radiating heat from the GPUs backplate. Not to mention the little airflow it’s going to get because of the minimal space between the fan and the back plate
Now, I willl check what cybenetics says about PSU. It's always an adventure when you want to build a strong and nice looking PC. Thanks Lauren to share your adventures.
Great video and yeah PSUs are needlessly complicated. That being said, FSP are a great brand and used in a lot of server builds. I have come across dozens of them as hot swappable supplies so I would trust them in a PC build easily. At least you did not get moss growing at the bottom of the case. I kid you not, it can happen! Thanks for sharing.
Wow Tasty PC, thank you for opening my eyes about the PSU ratings, ive only really splashed out on Gold recently but next time i'll be checking. Thanks great video.
I didn't know about the cybernetics ratings, checked and they haven't tested my PSU :/ Great idea on the case fans, thought about doing something similar when i first saw the mac pro redesign, strongly considering it instead of water cooling whenever I can afford to build a new PC. Sick video!
RAM clearance can be so frustrating with some builds. I did one in a NR200 and found that i would have to remove the heatspreader on the first slot even with LPX modules.
just curious for the Air-cooler and why it was sitting on it side, but after a bit this part caught my Attencion 7:24 sorry to hear it was rated Bronze, we goota becareful dont we.
Interesting note about the advertised efficiencies being regionally dependent on voltage; I also learned recently there can be large differences in listed efficiencies at idle versus load, which can be pretty important given that PCs spend more time at idle than at load. Why the choice of 1000W versus 750W, though? Just in case you ever want to upgrade to a 4090-level GPU in the future?
Great to see you back up loading vids..
Welcome back. Lets hope more videos coming
I never thought about the efficiency rating being different for different mains voltages. I learned something new today. Thanks, Lauren. :)
Me too. I also was surprised how you can look after DRAM latency in PC Partpicker as an alternative for looking for both frequency and timings.
Thank you Lauren.
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it.

So relaxing. I was sick all weekend and seeing you handle around these parts and explaining your process is so soothing. Thanks for the upload!
Oh wow thank you so much for the Cybenetics info. I never thought about how efficiency ratings could be made for only one input Voltage....

Very informative highlighting the PSU efficiency ratings between different voltages, something which a lot of channels do not cover. Good video!

The airflow direction is bottom-to-top rather than front-to-back so the cooler is rotated to match.

One strand of spider web and a fine layer of dust... That's more or less what I call clean. 😂
