I can’t connect iPhone 12

I WAS connected with my iPhone 12 inMarch 2020 when we flew to Austin. COVID hit, flight safety was compromised, and I didn’t feel safe flying for 7 months &did not use my car. Only 864 miles on it in 2020. After it was serviced, I tried reconnecting using the menu protocol & could not. Am I missing a step ?
