Yep, same here man. I grew up in the 80's and was fortunate enough to enjoy their debut album when it was released. Had it on vinyl. I would always come back to that album periodically, but when I was 13 and through until about 16 I had some real self destructive thoughts that I battled. The song institutionalized, and suicidal failure helped me through it in their own wierd ways. The one that really helped though, was how will I laugh tomorrow. 'Problems never solved just rearranged' really resonated and helped me underdstand that there are always going to be problems and to not dwell on the problem right now as tomorrow will be a new problem.

Suicidal predates Rage, but they are also a mixed-race band who speak often about social issues. They were banned in LA among many other cities (cause people of color are SCARY in certain settings), but I've seen them 4 times live! Love this band. Rocky should be in the R&RHOF! Mikey (vox) is cool as fuKK and was cool to me outside of a venue where he called me a cab once... Loved watching you rock out to this tune... Peace! Cheers!!!

They were banned from playing in LA during the late 80s because of so many people getting hurt in the mosh pit. They were from South LA, like NWA and Slayer. The real deal!

They were way before Rage. They're from the 80s. They were one of the first to blend punk and metal to form thrash. Chili Peppers wanted to be them and tried ripping them off. Anthrax was East coast and Suicidal was West coast.

Awesome, Scribe! So glad I caught this - ST reactions used to get pulled quick from what I heard. Hopefully not yours.
One of the best lead guitarists and most fun metal/funk/skater band ever.Bass player also amazing, as mentioned now with metallica. Rhythm guitar player wrote most riffs. Singer Mike was also in Infectious Grooves - a similar band but not nearly as good.

Yes they were genuinely banned from playing within the city limits of LA for a decade. A fight between gangs broke out at their show and they got the blame.

Suicidal tendencies is more than 10 years older than Rage against the machine. ST formed in 1980. Rage was 1991.
