If you suicidal tendencies, then react to , "how will I laugh tomorrow if I can't even smile today" awesome awesome track, this is from a grandad!!!!
Loved the Heavy Emotion version of that song.
I second that. Another granddad!
i was going to say the same thing, laugh is my favorite album from them.
How will I laugh tomorrow was the first St song I ever heard in the early 90's and I've loved these guys ever since
Suicidal forever. I loved Can’t Stop, War Inside my Head, Trip at the Brain, Love vs Loneliness, just to name a few. :)
If you enjoyed this one, you should react to their song “Institutionalized”.
And then, react to Body Count's version of it. It is so funny.
yeah you ladies should review institutionalized, its one of their oldest "hits" if you will. It was the first metal song I ever heard on network tv in an episode of 21 Jump Street. I like right Granny a little it more, she was banging her head right off the rip
Yes. Do “Institutionalized””. It’s a classic. But OMG you ladies are sooooo good. I am sticking around to hang out for sure. You can adopt me any day!!
I'm not crazy...
Not to mention "I Saw Your Mommy."
Suicidal was such an amazing band and so underrated.
idk if they were that underrated, they were pretty fuckin popular
Is
"You wouldn't know what crazy was (even) if Charlie Manson was eatin' Froot Loops on your front porch!" - glad that line got a chuckle.
Right, she loved it, that was my favorite part too 😂😂😂
He didn't say Charlie Manson
"There's always a revolution." Truer words have never been spoken. Keep it up, ladies! 🤘
"The last obstacle to a stable and just wOrLd oRdEr is the United States."
£~G. SoToS
Love seeing people of older generations being open minded and trying to understand and enjoy this new era of rock! Keep it up 👍!!!!!
"This new era of rock" from 1990. lmao
I would say harder era of rock.
@@xytras6451 I was about to say "New?" lol
I'm in my early 30's and was a tiny child when this came out.
On one of their gigs in LA, the crowd tore out 10 rows of seats and after that, no promoters' insurance would cover them performing, so they couldn't get gigs in LA.
Lol savages
there is nothing as strong as a suicidal army of kids
Glad I could bring back some attention to Suicidal Tendencies.
The last punk rock show in LA they played at was in 1984 at the Olympic auditorium. I was there that night, I was 13years old. I heard their crowd (suicidals) tore up the restrooms and did a lot of damage to the venue. They where known for doing that. They got reinstated like 1989.
“Tommy the Cat” and “My Name is Mud” by Primus
Not sure those would be the best introductions to this band's eccentricity. Something like Southbound Pachyderm or from the Antipop era might be better.
@@mugwump7049 Wynona's Big Brown Beaver would be another good one to start with
Yup I asked them to do both of those! Grannies need Primus in their life!!!
Hell YES to Primus!
I second
After the 1983 release of their iconic self-titled debut album, Suicidal got banned from playing shows in their Los Angeles hometown because of “gang relations and violence”. However, around 1989, after the band had risen in popularity, the ban was lifted and Suicidal have continued playing live in L.A. since then. #grannysquad you guys rock !!
30 years later and this is still my favorite Suicidal Tendencies song. Thanks.
In 1996 I attempted suicide and spents a few months in a mental health hospital, during that time I listened to a lot of inspiring music but ironically Suicidal Tendencies was the main band that got me through.
Another song that I listened to a lot was Badlands by Metal Church, I highly recommend a reaction to it.
Sames!!! Suicidal changed, and possibly saved my life!!!
I'm glad you're still here with us!
Glad you're still here to jam to new tunes
Glad you had the music to help you! Badlands by Metal Church got me through cancer treatments!
Heath Jacks Too many reaction channels do the same songs of the same bands that got a lot of views on bigger channels and people requesting songs don't have much originality either, great metal bands like Metal Church, Overkill and Annihilator get ignored. Judas Priest has more songs than Painkiller but you'd never know it by watching reactors.
SUICIDAL!!!! HELL YEAH!!! Great job ladies, the "banned in LA" headline was indeed a real thing, back in the 80's they had a song called "I Shot Reagan" (later renamed I shot The Devil) and were barred from performing in much of LA because of the song and the LAPD were falsely labelling the band and their fans as gang members. This song was, in part, a response to those things. Rock on ladies!!!!
Saw them at the Palladium in Hollywood in 82. My friend jumped on stage and Mike handed him his mike and let him finish the song. I'll never forget that.
This is a LOST GEM!!! This song has to be one of the most brilliantly crafted, written, and arranged songs of all time!
All the lyrics are amazing, but that rant towards the end is so spot-on!
3:58 they already know more about band members than most metal reactors out there. I really like these girls
Another great song from the same album is "Alone". Bet you're gonna love it. #peace :)
Rocky George in my opinion is severely underrated. That solo is 🔥
One of best Metal/Punk lead guitarists
Suicidal Tendencies are an old time favorite of mine. If you liked that song from them please try their song "Institutionalized" also known by some as the " Pepsi song ".
Also.... Anthrax "Indians"
Just give the damn Pepsi!
"Pepsi song" and "Indians" too! Nice!
I'm 44 now and growing up to hearing them and other bands like st, man my childhood was great 🤘
I'm guessing these lovely ladies were in their thirties when ST were at their peak. They've been rocking out to all the best music their whole lives! I wish you many more years of getting down to killer tunes!🖤
Rocky George is a BEAST, on that guitar!!
This is a great song but "Give It Revolution" is the stand out tune from this album along with the humorous "Send Me Your Money". Awesome job ladies!
Rocky George (guitarist) is HIGHLY Underrated.
Try - Deftones “Digital Bath” or “Tempest”. 🙂
My first time hearing them; he stood out well above the others imo 👍
Dude, I was about to say the same thing, but I thought I'd scroll to see if someone else said it. His solos just fit, you know? They're like the perfect solos for that song. Don't know why he never got more props from the guitar world. And, I gotta say, it was pretty ballsy to wear Pittsburgh Pirate memorabilia in LA.
He is now in the Cro-Mags. Their new album is on YT. There is a live vid from March this year - he is on the stage.
@@botany500kojak Yeah, he's been playing with Harley for years.
Rocky has never been under-rated. People in the know know how good Rocky was. Who gives a shit about the mainstream, they listen to shit. ST!
Lamb of God won't get disappointed
One of my all time favorite bands been listening since early nineties now in my 40s and still rocking the ST
What an AMAZING song to review. YES!!!
6:10 "I love that guy right there." Granny's not the only one thinking Mike Muir is 🔥.
One of the best metal tracks ever. Pure classic!
I absolutely love you ladies. My mom was super open-minded to the music I listen to when I was a kid. My stockings were always full of different heavy metal cassettes. I even remember the Tooth Fairy leaving me Motley Crue Shout at the Devil. You remind me a lot of her. Lost her about 10 years ago to cancer. You ladies make me smile when I watch your videos.
Hey Grannies, the singer's older brother is one of the original "Lords of Dogtown" an architect of skateboarding , responsible for all that is Boarding
LIGHTS! .....CAMERA!...SILENCE ON THE SET!....TAPE ROLLING!...3,2,1 ACTION!!!!! Welcome to the Church of suicidal we'll have a sermon or have a wonderful recital. Before I go on there's something I must mention an important message I bring to your attention I was in meditation and prayer last night and I was awoken by shine bright light overhead the Glorious. Spirit he gave me a message in you all need to hear it he said SEND ME YOUR MONEY
You two are Incredible! My mother passed away four weeks ago tomorrow, and her mom passed away 15 years ago. They were both a huge part of my life and why I am who I am, at least the good parts. Both of them would listen to my music with me and they would tell you they enjoyed some. My mom liked Slipknot until she read the lyrics, lol. I absolutely love what you guys are doing, and have watched every video. In a way you keep a part of those two women alive, and for that I love you more than words can express.
I’ve seen these guys twice, once in St. Louis and last summer in New Jersey. I was front and center for the Jersey show and at one point the singer jumped over the barricade into the crowd and landed on my head ha ha ha good times 🤘😆🤘
Yes ST!!! Little tidbit of information, the bass player in ST now plays for Metallica. And all Mike wants is a Pepsi.Pantera Domination live in Moscow and Korn Blind live at Woodstock
You guys ROCK... I swear damn near brought me to tears to hear you talk about my generation that way .. WE raised the kids that WILL end racism and bigotry. Thanks for listening to our songs
Hordes of chaos by KREATOR (this band have the same importance in Europe that Metallica have in America)
Their newer stuff is still really good too. Loved phantom antichrist.
Roberto Valezquez thanku 4 suggesting Kreator never heard them b4, they r brilliant wish I heard em when I was a teen
Man i love Kreator. My friend showed them to me back in like 2003-2005or something. So good
You need to hear
How Can I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can’t Even Smile Today
The acoustic version. Seeing how much you loved the DRUG IN ME IS REIMAGINED you’ll love that one.
if y'all want a good one Radio by Rammstein is very fun
Rammstein p*ssy uncensored is also a fun video
Ich will....
Rammstein coming soon. We promise.
@@TwoRockingGrannies YESSS!! Love you gals!!!!!!!!
I absolutely LOVE SUICIDAL TENDENCIES ...since I was 11/12 years old ..I'm 45 and a grandma too now and they still rock 🤘😝
You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson was eating Froot Loops on your front porch !
Greatest lyric ever !
Some Ghost would be nice in the near future
used to listen to this song a ton back in the 80s... still love it today
Awesome, glad you're taking a listen to Suicidal. Hope you enjoy what they have to offer.
Please react to Type O Negative.....love you ladies
They'd probably die of old age before the song is over.
Granny: "Pretty."
Me: "Not for long...lol"
Love you two!
Just found out about you’re channel, will be subscribing. Its so wonderful hearing positive reactions to Metal, And that Suicidal Tendencies song and band helped me get through a lot of hardships in my life, the song is absolutely one of my favorites. Keep up the good work :)
Make them suffer had a really good track out called erase me that I know the Grannies would love. Especially the vocals. I'd love to see you fall head over heels for them! Keep Rocking!!
These videos are the best!
Love the recommendations, keep listening to the fans, the metal community will not let you down.
“These guys are good” - Grandma 👵🏼
Boy, play that little rant of Mike's at the end today: "Maybe you need to be offended." Yea, I heard that.
One thing I love about your channel is your open mind to different music and always positive.
Since you've started down the Suicidal rabbithole you have got to give Infectious Grooves a listen
Ladies! You two are the best! Here are 2 absolute must hear tracks from this band: Institutionalized and How Will I Laugh Tomorrow if I Cant Even Smile Today. Super fun songs!
How can you not subscribe to these two adorable gammas......I did after they asked the first time,😁
“Plug In Baby” by Muse, live in Rome is amazing
Epic band! Great reaction! Suicidal Tendencies are so good!
GWAR: SADDAM A GOGO
GWAR: IMMORTAL CORRUPTOR
GWAR: SICK OF YOU
I once met a 80 year old grandmother who knew all about GWAAAAAAR 😈🤯
Slaughter to Prevail- Demolisher
Killswitch Engage- The Signal Fire
Suicidals Tendencies are legends that have stood the test of time and still don't get top billing.
LOVED seeing them in the LA clubs back in the day!
Suicidal opened for Metallica at the Shit Hits the Sheds Tour June 15, 1994. Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania I was there and I got a bloody nose in the Mosh Pit! I never would have imagined Robert Trujillo would be playing with them now lol.
"There will always be rebellion"... ironically this band has an album titled "The Art of Rebellion"
Interesting story I remember reading somewhere. ST's lead guitarist, Rocky George's 'party trick' was the 8 finger tapping he does at the beginning of the song. One day, he and Robert Trujillo (the bass player who's now in Metallica) were fooling about in a hotel and , I can't remember exactly what happened but there was an accident involving roller blades and a hotel door that ended with Rocky severing one of his tapping fingers. After that, he sadly couldn't do his trick any more :(
Also, great choice, grannies. One of my requests. Just Pantera (Domination - live in moscow or Cowboys from Hell) and Rammstein (Du hast or Der Meister) to go now. Keep up the good work and rock on :D
It hasn't been 3 months and yall are past the halfway point for a 100k, Great for you guys and i been loving ur reactions
This used to be my favorite band ever! They were so gooooood!
Been listening to these guys a lot lately. It was an awesome surprise to see you reviewed them! Thanks
"Nobody Hears",and "Trip at the Brain"
You young ladies seem to be going through my record collection.
Omg, I love these two ladies 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I absolutely love you two, exploring new music and seeing what's out there. I would really like to hear your thoughts and perspective on the lyrics and meaning of the songs. I think it would add a great dynamic to your reviews.
ROCK ON LADIES!!!
I used to wonder how i was going to be able to whistle slayer tunes when I was an old man doing my yard work.
Cool you like it, it´s one of my favorite Bands!!! They are fast, creative, and amazing Musicians and so much Energy. Some Songs are very dark but overall one of the best Bands ever (in Terms of Virtuosity)!!!!
Rocky George is a criminally underrated guitarist
My daughter and I have fallen in love with your videos. Thanks for introducing us to some new music and letting us watch you guys watch some of our favorites.
Suggestions:
Halestorm - I Miss The Misery
Slash - Anastasia
Ghost - Cirice (2016 Grammy winner!)
Suicidal for life! I saw them at Fox Theater in Pomona a few years back, it was like a three hour fight! ST was amazing!
I enjoyed watching you watching them sooo much! They are so talented and you realizing that was so refreshing!! I loved it, and yes I did what Grannie said, I subscribed instantly!! Your Awesome ❣️
I am so happy to see you reacting to this song Suicidal Tendencies have been around for decades. Would love to see you react to something like I Set My Friends On Fire - Things That Rhyme With Orange it's a super interesting sound!
unbelievable my first time watching and the fact they brought up Robert Trujillo n the bands he was in is amazing no other reaction I've seen even knows who he is awesome
Still waiting for a reaction to GWAR-Sick Of You. Trust me that is some weird metal haha
There are some GWAR tunes that would really make them blush... 🤣
Sick (sick) of (of) youuuu
I'm so sick of, sick of you
My son (Nana King here) suggest that too, as we all many others in the comments. We will get to it eventually for sure. We promise.
Two Rocking Grannies YES!!! Thank you Nana!!!
@@TwoRockingGrannies GWAR have some fun stuff and some downright, BEYOND RAUNCHY stuff. Caveat Emptor! 🤣 Songs like Gor Gor, Sick of You, Immortal Corruptor, and 8th Lock are great. Songs like Rock and Roll Never Felt So Good, F*#$in' an Animal, and Tick Tits might be a bit much for you... 😳🤪 You just gotta remember who they are. They are aliens from another world who came to destroy the filthy human race while indulging in insane amounts of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Very tongue-in-cheek, and not meant to be taken too seriously. STAY METAL, GRANNIES!
And have to say thank you, you brighten my day every time watch you 🤗
You both are one of the best things that happened to me in this quarantine!
Damn! I wish my grandma was open minded like you! Greetings from Brazil!
Suicidal Tendencies actually were banned in L.A. A lot of it had to do with the bands image of wearing due rags and other apparell, which were popular amongst L.A. gangs. Suicidal Tendencies was actually listed as a gang by the L.A. police and students weren't permitted to wear their clothing in schools.
Testament- trial by fire
Sanctuary- taste revenge
Body count- body count
Megadeth- take no prisoners
DRI- beneath the wheel
Death angel- voracious souls
Corrosion of conformity- dance of the dead
Love you guys- keep up the good work
What the hell’s going on around here ? Great song. Rocky’s guitar playing just flows in it’s own amazing direction over the rhythm section.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BAND :)
You 2 are great.
One of My all time favorite bands.
Bassist Robert Trujillo and singer Mike Muir performed in a satellite band called Infectious Grooves. Definitely worth a listen.
When I'm old, I hope there's grannys who like metal too because then we have replaced plastic or atleast I hope so lmao
Hey rocking grannies! I'm all a huge fan all the way from Singapore. Both of you are reaching your positive vibes globally! I'm 40 most of the music you react to are the ones I grew up with and bring me a whole lot of memories. Keep up the great work and all of your G squad will be here to watch. Consider having a patreon. I'm sure all of us will be supporting. Road to 100k!!!!
ST hell yeah!!!! One of my all-time favs "You can't bring me down"! I FUCKIN LOVE SUICIDAL! It's not often that I go for what's "recommended" ;) I love that you grannies analyze and get this music. You're both adorable and you rock! \m/ you just got another subscriber.
I loved this band from like grade 7 through high school.... still listen to them from time to time!!
wow! what a blast from the past! thanks for that!
Grandma loved the line about Charles Manson 😂😂😂😂 protect these two women at all costs
This was great! You should REALLY check out Farewell, Mona Lisa by the Dillinger Escape Plan! Ben (Dillinger's guitarist) was most recently touring live with Suicidal Tendencies (and being as manic live as he was with Dillinger!)
Please upvote this comment so the Grannies see it!
This album didn't leave my casette player back in high school (I'm that old). Killswitch Engage - Rose of Sharyn, The End of Heartache and The Signal Fire (As Iv'e said before, do a quick google search why this song is a big deal for Killswitch Fans)
I think both of you would enjoy Mercyful fate: Melissa, Evil, the uninvited guest and last rites comes to mind right now all good songs.
Love this band more,more
Ladies, I thoroughly appreciate your open mindedness and appreciation of music that may be outside of your comfort zone. Thank you, subscribed and you've made my day!! :)
Also I'd like to see your reaction to "Out of my mind" from Mushroomhead.
Oh yeah, and if you ladies didn't notice I the video, the bass player is Robert Trujillo, the current bass player for Metallica. The man's a beast on the bass.
OMG! Can I adopt you ladies as Grans? Metal. Is. Life!
