My wife would love this kind of lighting throughout our home! Sending this to her to show it is a DIY project {Great Videos and learned a lot in this one! Rick [racey In Plattsburgh]
Love the cabinets! such a great way to display your sets!
Ohh I just got my shelf off Amazon not even a week ago! Where was this video when I needed it 😆
The glass doors make sense. Adam Savage has also the ikea system with glass doors for his movie props.
this guy is talented! well done with the lights!
I recently got myself two Billy shelves with the wood+glass doors since you recommended them. They're perfect for the job. I got white shelves with black doors and painted the outside of the shelves black so the whole thing was black on the outside to match my room and white in the inside to make everything easier to see. I'm thinking about getting an Ikea CD shelf since the small shelves are really good for speed champions cars.
Could you please send me a photo of your selve as Inspiration? I may do mine that way too 🙏🏻
IKEA & Lego, a great combination!! I love the lighting system. All the best from Red Deer Alberta Canada.

I have a Detolf and Milsbo display cabinets from Ikea for Lego. My only issue with them is the doors leave some gaps, so a little dust still gets in, but it's better than having my display sets totally exposed.
Yes it is a really cool backdrop. I have a service dog and our house is prone to dust so the idea of a place to showcase Legos without everything covered in dog hair and dust is ideal
Please continue to post video like this. Very interesting and informative
Thanks for posting this. Can't wait to see the 1/8 car display.
Them cabinet sets are soo cool I love them a great background for your awesome videos
Well i guess i know how im gonna spend my time, thank you so much for this video!
Excellent video and workmanship
I know now what I will buy for my sets, thank you ❤
Excellent outcome, looks great.
Great cabinet video. It looks very nice and clean. Also you mentioned about the Lego Technic supercars that they will have a special spot. I’ve seen a picture that there’s a piece that you can hang them against the wall. That could probably look nice
They looks great. Thank you for aharing the lovely design and diy stuff.
Thanks for making this video. Off to IKEA this weekend 👍
Yup bro, waiting for you to unbox those big boxes too (the one which has the lego tote bag on it as well) 🙏🏼☺️
That'll come as well, but will require *some* assembly ;)
Why do the glass doors look frosted on the website... Good to know they have clear glass doors to, will help me for the future.
Fantastic video, thank you so much!
Have Billy 40cm deep with glass doors. I need to consider glass shelves and lighting so thanks for this
looks awesome
@RacingBrick maybe you can try some of the Lego stadiums?
I am a big Lego fan my self actually over time I've collected lots of Lego, its very funny when i watch your videos i can see my Lego sets in the back (:
Well the stadiums are the ones that are totally indifferent for me. I don't watch football so I'm not interested in those at all :) Some architecture sets might be interesting though.
I have a kallax cabinet for my model cars but I should have gotten something with doors like this because they always get dusty. I also have lights in mine though and RGB light strips for ambient lighting
Great setup. Will have to see if the aluminium frame glass doors are available here in Australia 🤔. The LED lighting looks awesome!!
I've lined my Billy shelves with draft strips to prevent finer dust from seeping through the gaps.
Good idea!
@@RacingBrick Almost running out of space in my current room! And I need to move into my own house sooner.
Thanks a lot
You should definitely try polarizing filter to get rid of reflections. It also makes the colors pop more. Inexpensive, but very effective.
Do you have any suggestions? I was looking for some solutions but nothing inexpensive at this scale.
@@RacingBrick Hoya Fusion Antistatic CIR-PL or something similar will be around 30-60€. It depends on the size of lens you have (I assume you use dslr). There are more expensive ones also, but I doubt there's gonna be that much difference.
@@janekmorel aaaah ok, I got you totally wrong :D I thought you were talking about something to apply on the glass doors, as there are anti-reflective coating solutions you can buy but they are really expensive :)
Yeah, a polarizing filter might do the trick, I have one somewhere so I'll definitely give it a try, thanks for the suggestion!
the Morliden doors look really good on the Billy shelves. Too bad I can't get them in the United States. They don't even pull up when I search on the website.
As I see Morliden was replaced by HÖGBO doors - www.ikea.com/us/en/p/hoegbo-glass-door-white-20517243/
It looks a bit different and there seem to be black and white variants only
Your videos are awesome! Also, could you maybe try other Lego sets? Or even other vehicle sets?
Thanks! Other LEGO sets like...?
@@RacingBrick I think maybe Creator Expert sets or Idea's sets because they involve more technical aspects. (Nintendo Entertainment System, Home Alone set) Maybe some superhero based sets, or franchise sets like Harry Potter.
@@RacingBrick Also when I said other vehicles, I meant Space Ships or trains etc
@@elitegamer393 I review non-Technic sets as well, mostly Creator Expert, but I also had Ideas reviews, even superheroes :) Harry Potter won't happen, as I'm simply not interested in the theme.
@@RacingBrick Yeah, I started watching older videos, since I am a newer viewer. Keep up the great videos!
cool😮
Currently on my Ikea display shelf :
42116
42102
42133
Koenigsegg Jesko
Lotus Evija
60324 Mobile crane
A toy crawler crane and backhoe loader
1:50 scale Liebherr LTM 1050 (Kinda ugly tho)
smale scale Honda Civic,GTR 35 and Hitachi EX 8000 excavator
Also I have 42101 display on another place, inside beautiful Ikea glass box
We have the Billy cabinets at home but I never thought this was done with them
Can u do a tour of all ur Lego technic?
I see now, that there is no easy way you could adjust the shelves height because of the lighting running through the sides.
I have 4 BILLY bookcases myself (40cm deep version + top extension) but use the OXBERG glas doors because the aluminum doors are not available here. Also have a bunch of BESTA 40cm and 20cm cabinets (ideal for Speed Champions) with FISKVIKEN aluminum doors. I've put additionally self adhesive window seals behind the doors to make them more dust proof. LACK shelves for the modulars and KALLAX sideboard for some taller sets. But it's still not enough even though they are filled up completely and I completely ran out of space, something you will soon face as well.
I recommend you BESTA cabinets because they are 40cm deep and with 60cm wide enough to fit the 1:8 supercars. Also being modular, you can combine different heights (38, 64, 128, 194 cm) to fill up the wall to the ceiling. They are cheap and can also be hung on the wall. Plus you can add glass shelves and reduce the nr. of lighting strips. BILLY has glass shelves only for 28cm deep version. For larger sets one could use PAX wardrobes because they are 50cm deep and glass doors are available.
Yeah, I had to decide the position of the shelves first with this solution but that made the cable management easier. I know the BESTA system, have some cabinets at home but I don't need more display place at the moment. This setup is used for storage but mostly for display to act as a background, and even the 4 shelves can't fit in the frame so I don't need more. I have 3 meters of PAX wardrobes in the other side of the studio just for set storage, that should be enough :)
Egy ilyen szoba az álmom😍
Nice racingbrick video on the showcase you bought at IKEA and I can't wait for that box you received as a gift to come out but is the box a lego set?
clean well the lego titanic 135 long 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The box I showed yesterday with the tote bag is a single LEGO set I bought recently, I need to build it first to make a video about it :) The display solution for the 1:8 supercars will be also filmed soon.
the sian need friend now! 😡😂😂
Looks great, its nice knowing you don't just use a green screen like most UA-camrs.
Do you think that in long term the lights (also some warmer ones like 2700K) may have a bad effect on the lego bricks, like direct sunshine causes the colors fade?
The doors aren’t available any more
RacingBrick, did you see the new leaks for Speed Champions and Technic? There will be an 007 DB5 and Fast and Furious 1970 Dodge Charger. And there will be an Airbus H175 chopper for 400€, and a Ferrari Daytona SP3 also for 400€ (new big supercar?)
I've seen postings yes, waiting for anything official :)
@@RacingBrick If these are official, it's pretty exciting.
Nice cabinets! I'd also like to know what your 6 drawer cabinets are @1:48. I like that arrangement a lot!
I talk about them more in this video - ua-cam.com/video/Bps9_pd-A8A/v-deo.html
@@RacingBrick Thanks for the head's up - I hadn't watched that video at the time I posted, I have now 👍.
Really cool your house, but now you have to buy a new one to put Star Wars set!
Billy cabinets are very versatile and can look really good. Unfortunately for me they have been out of stock in my geographic area for the past 4 months due to logistics issues. RIP :(
I also had difficulties buying them last year, but hopefully the logistical issues will be solved sooner or later by IKEA
@@RacingBrick I feel that. Your backdrop looks awesome, BTW. I was just complaining out loud. Not criticizing you or the video :)
I have a question, whats the best way to store lego bricks? i used to sort them by colour but to find the right piece became a challenge. I then decided to have every brick sorted by colour and shape but that made for alot of small containers which doesn't make for a fun building experience. I have now moved to sorting bricks by their shapes and size, keeping all the colours of a specific brick in one container. How do you store your lego biricks and do you have any advice for the best method to store lego that still creates a fun building experience whether solo or with friends and family, Thank you for your time
I store them by shape, not color, because it's relatively simple to discern colors.
Love your videos…quick question. What’s the trophy truck that on the shelf to the immediate right of the Ferrari F40? Looks amazing…
Still need to pick up The Batman vehicle set to build that black hot rod.
Not sure which car are you talking about, maybe this? ua-cam.com/video/26q4pPEk0NI/v-deo.html
@@RacingBrick I don’t believe that’s it…I noticed it in your latest freight train video. In the 1st few seconds of the video above the lego box is the F40 and to the right is a 4x4 truck w/ red doors and tire mounted behind the cab.
Ah ok, you need to comment on the video where you saw it, I keep rearranging the cabinet :) It is this buggy, but rebuilt with different colors - ua-cam.com/video/3D0Zz4N5zD0/v-deo.html
I checked availability of these shelves in my area in the US and they were all unavailable or out of stock at IKEA.
Yeah
lego: 500 euros leave it or take it.
ikea: 4 bookshelves + rgb lights 300 euros
ok.
Did you fix the bookcases to the wall somehow?
Yes, it is advised. You get accessories for that.
@@RacingBrick got it. Thanks a lot.
How are you storing the Titanic though? I’m 3/4 done with the build and I realized I heavily overestimated my shelf length
Currently in a cardboard box :D But I have plans for that one, if I find the proper solution I will definitely post about it.
Do you now that Ikea coming from sweden and a am from sweden👍🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪😁
Will you be using the HUYL wall mounts for the supercars?
We'll see soon ;)
WOW😐👌
What are the cabinets you have along the other wall? I have been looking for that style for awhile now.
They are also from IKEA, but from the kitchen department :) Will make a video about that side as well when it is ready.
Where are all your speed champion set....??
In a drawer currently, still need to figure out the best way to display them
hello, what are these doors with thin frames called?
There's a link in the description with all the parts, including the doors. Those are discontinued by the way, now Billy has new glass doors.
LED light is 6000K ?
4500K
Hi, you said that “theoretically” also 1:8 tehnic cars will fit in Ikea Billy. Is it possible to close glass door when car is inside?
You can see it at 1:42
Hi, thanks totally missed that part :) why do you think they don’t look good in Ikea display cabinet? I think they look great in it. I also watched video where you put them on the wall with frames. This also looks cool, but they are not dust protected. Thumbs up for you and yours channel, keep up the good work.
What is the color of the lighting used ?
It is 4000K but still a bit too warm compared to my studio lights
Does glass keep the dust out? or do you have to clean them?
Yes, it's pretty effective with the dust.
Hi what doors are they on your billy shelves ? We’re can I find them thanks 😊
I did click on your description and went to ikea but it says they don’t exist 😂
@@bigfel4207 Called IKEA HÖGBO now
What is the ref number of this black and white monster truck?
It's a modification of 42099 - ua-cam.com/video/26q4pPEk0NI/v-deo.html
Do you know the name of this cabinet model?
Which model?
how do you clean your lego?
Dust it off with a big brush most of the time, but this cabinet is good at keeping the dust out
Úgy sejtem, hogy se a Mack kamion, se a Liebherr nem férne be...
Valóban, a Mack hosszában, a Liebherr széltében sok :)
