The end result from Yanai is always so artistic I come back repeatedly to watch again one of his masterclasses. This time watching Itai I muted the music so it wouldn't influence my evaluation, just wanted to be amazed by the brushwork and aesthetic choices alone of light / tone / texture / colour ... Wow. Respect. Painting from Life. I don't think people realise how super easy it is drawing / painting from a photo. But - super difficult - it when doing from Life. Completely higher level. It'd say it's at least - 10x harder, if not more. In 6 months of trying and still couldn't do it. Until one day I finally (sort of) got it. I would like to one day learn watercolours. But my drawing I still think needs much studying / practice.
