Z - You are such a master and I feel so privileged to watch you work and view/purchase your lessons. I too would like to see a tutorial on your process of working watercolor portraits - which colors you favour, transparent or opaque, how wet you like to work and your overall technique. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one! Thanks so much!

זbeautiful work
画的很棒!
非常感謝支持!
So excellent, George Cowie
Wow
Your technique is clever!!!!
Thank you.
You seem to have no issue with under layer pigment lifting or re-wetting too much, so no mud is being created - especially in your dark browns. Are you using a classical pallet, or have you introduced newer synthetic pigments to create your darks? If I rely on too much burnt sienna or umber in my darks (with or without F. Ultramarine) i sometimes have difficulty laying down a darker tone over initial washes as the undertone re-wets and lifts too easily, even if under layer is bone dry. Great work by the way. You make it look easy.
Jim Minet Thank you Jim for your comment. I was using the classical palate, it came in as a set. Usually, if the area is wet, I will work on other areas first, then once I can tell the area is dry, I will go back to it and paint on top, just make sure not too much water on your brush, and not go over the area too many times, as I would try to do it only one time if I can, if more adjustment needed, then I'll need to wait for it to dry again to put more layer on top. Hope this would help you with your painting.
Thanks for reply!
You are welcome. Thank you taking your time to watch the demo and for your comments.
OUTSTANDING!
I was wondering the same about mud and layering on top of previously worked areas. To me it looked like very transparent and precise color selections applied with little amount of water to maximise control, allowing for many passes without the danger of lifting previous washes (noticed how there were very few drippings and uses of tissue). Amazing how you handle values without instantly blocking darkest darks and lightest lights. Could you elaborate on value management for this piece? Just curious, how long did you worked on this painting?

Hi, the layers of tones are just so good! Can you please share which all shades of colours you used here?
Dang Zimou, it looks like you just slop that paint on and it dries to perfect beautiful painting. You are truly using a gift from God! I have much passion, but I didn't get this! Keep making vids! BTW, what paper is this?
Hello Charles, that's the Winsor Newton watercolor paper. Thank you for your support.
It's gorgeous.
Could you post entire videos, just so you can explain us while you paint, please ?

Well. Time for me to start saving money for a commission.
Tabibo3 I am ready when you are. :)
Awesome water color painting!!! What the name of the song?
Sir, i gotta ask you something, but i don't think i can be clear with my poor english, hope you can understand my question,
so, here it goes... When you add a color, using for example the skin tones, the paint get on the paper very wet, do you dry your brush for the blending and the approaching to highlights? I hope my question makes any sense!
Thank you!
You are an amazing artist!
+Arthur Albuquerque Pereira Hello Arthur, I left the highlight untouched, create soft edges while it still wet, create refined details with dry brush strokes. Hope this answers your question.
+Zimou Tan Your answer made things clearer, thanks!
I am glad to hear, and you are welcome.
beautiful porter

l like the composition
also like the way you add liquid full of dark color that gives painting three D look

what song is this?
Too fast for me to watch, I would like to see the skill in painting, but it's not possible. It is amazing, however what paint do you use, how long did it take you to get to this point? Maybe next time it will be better if you slow down. Thanks anyway.
Thank you for the visit and comment. The process took about 3 hours, it would be too big of a file to upload if is in normal time.
Am I the only one looked at that foot all the time?

The Fugitive, it's one of the most beautiful music compositions. You prefer rock? Country Western?
