I feel there's a spectrum between classical interpretation of an already created piece, jazz improvisation that is free within a form, and free composition, that you are touching on through the lens of writing. There isn't as much difference as we often think between composer and performer, and being able and willing to switch between those modalities is a valuable skill.

When listening to music, hardly anyone actualy things about how much work is put into it. I'm still learning all there is about music with help from AI. Wish i could afford a studio one day and do everything by hand.
