Probably one the best bows I've ever seen made from scratch and certainly the best arrow I've ever seen made from scratch.

As others have said, those arrow heads are badass. Good vid.
They are truly masters of hunting. With rudimentary tools, they created beautiful and dangerous arrows
Out the cities under a tree's shadow having something to be busy and zone out on is so relaxing
I think they do know the great PHYSICS + BIOLOGY when compared to the most of the professionals 😂 - Their work is really great ❤️

Most American's couldn't light a fire with sticks if their life depended on it. I enjoy these documentaries. Thanks for sharing.
this is great to watch home made traditional bows , good bow makers with techniques , tools of the tradition
Sadly I did not record the whole bow being made. I was there to see them building their houses.
Nomad Architecture nice vid footage of the bow making even tho it not a complete vid but none the less you got some great footage

Beautiful craftmanship for such primitive tools. Very skilled.
Primitive? They are using iron.
Glorious. These guys are the real McCoy. My kind of fellas!
I am impressed by their knowledge of nature, (all African or other tribal peoples) whenever I watch videos like this. Poison arrows, who’da thunk?
Humans are much more intelligent than you think. It's the civilized ones who are dumb: relying on machines, buying fake food from the store, and believing all kind of lies from a rock that glows.
They are really impressive indeed, they certainly have some ingenuity. The only thing I’m wondering is if you hunt with poisoned arrows, won’t that carry over to whatever you’re shooting at? (and eventually eating)
Not all Africans are tribal. I really wish western nations would stop teaching their people ignorance. Not every dark skin person is tribal. Should it be taught that every white skin person is a colonizer? Every continent including Europe has tribal people, but not all people on every continent is tribal.
@@flossyraven hey guy, I meant nothing by the word “Tribal.” If my mistake infuriates you that much then I would suggest you go get therapy for your anger issues.
Oh and have a great day!
@@scotthaddad563 no it did not anger me I just wish that the western nations would stop acting ignorant when it comes to darker hue humans. I mean come on after centuries of studying them especially with free knowledge online it should be no ignorance concerning their lifestyle. ✌️

I love the design and manufacture of the steel arrowhead, esp. the array of tangs. I'm going to try that.

3:41 that arrowhead is amazing
That Hadzabe bow w the feathers on it is amazing too. I think it the west we tend to infantilize these people and it is a crime. You dont see obesity and heroin addicts in this tribe like we have in the west. I know their lifespan tends to better shorter but I would argue for those years they live a healthier more sustainable life. I love how they use the materials around them for their housing and don't overharvest their natural resources. Us in the west would have taken ownership of those resources and sold them until nothing is left.

I remember seeing a picture of other arrows made in africa, and some of them look even more elaborate and deadly than that. A lot of it is just cosmetic, and some of it is going to make your arrow less effective, but they look pretty awesome nonetheless.

Bahut achha dost pase thakben.
Interesting fletching technique, I’ll have to try that
Those were guinea feathers. Although big enough the vein stack is too thin and soft. That's why that guy was using so many.
There is nothing wrong with using four feathers. Modern arrows are sometimes sold with four. It’s just not the usual.
@@ferret1252 I don't know where you are getting that from. you can absolutely use four, three or two fletches on an arrow.

Masterpiece
Why not heavier bows? Longer draw lengths?
Just a guess here. 1) Poison on the arrow means that penetrating deep with broad heads is not required since blood loss is not whats taking down the prey. 2) The bows are not laminated. 3) its possible they are hunting in in forest or dense scrub where long range shooting inst possible or required. 3) Even when the English war bow was at its heaviest, hunters still used much lighter bows One assumes because accuracy is more important and the extra power is simply not required. 4) I also wondered about the draw length because in the video the arrows were much longer than required for the draw length they were using.
These guys are higher IQ than the ones we have over seas. Hope these dudes stay tribin. 👍
Dustyn AKA Ändbjørn IQ is not measured in how good you are at building bows.
Your talking about education.

That s not survival arrow Head it s war arrow Head. It s more complex to make as it is not possible to pull arrow out without leaving tip in the target.
bobnell is a head used with poison which is wrapped around the base of the head.
You want the head to stay in the animal for the poison to be released
I guess its an argument over the word survival. Might have been better stated as "hunting skills" but then youtube would restrict the views due to the word hunting. As far as the tip goes. If its not barbed then the arrow may simply fall out whilst the prey is running and you never find you arrow. Your going to eat the animal anyway (I assume) so you can simply cut the surrounding flesh and remove the arrow. I do agree though that its certainly not a "survival arrow head"
@@deadhorse1391 I thought they using powerful venom so in contact with target blood doesn't need to stay in target for long time. Snake venom one could drink but if one had wound in mouth would die as it gets in bloodstream.
