I hope that you guys create more awesome tutorials like this
I didn't knew about that Transform effect, I'd always precompose everything and then add the wiggle to it, nice tut!
Always good to learn new tricks! Thank you!
Really great tutorial! I learned a lot!
Glad to hear! Let us know if there are any tutorials you'd like us to make.

How was the track footage made?
Were those real life stormtroopers shooting at him?
Haha, they just really wanted to showcase our bullet hits!
Hey guys i really need help with my short film. I need to send footage to someone and have them add bullet hits using after effects or some program that can do it. I have premiere elements and can cut and add everything together.
Great Video but how did you render this out? When I export the file it's missing the bullet hits. They are also only visible when I have the 3D Tracker Camera selected. Any help would be incredible🙌🏻
is there any apps that is like after effects or does the same as after effects cus i use free ones
So how do you get the bullets to stay on track where they hit? Did I miss something
Motion track it
background plate footage link is broken
I am using an R3D file from you guys so its more grey than black. When using shift channels and fill as you did it affects the BG color and not just the dust for me?
Hello! You could try change the RED settings of the footage by going to Interpret Footage > Main > More Options and change the color/look of the footage, to make it more suitable for to use.
Our ProRes files are also perfect for this instance as they have been adjusted for easier use without the extra steps.
Good tutorial but would of been nice to see how you masked out the person???
ur voice sounds familiar are u from the Visionary Fire ???
How to get track footage?
Hello! We only offer the background plate in this tutorial, and you can find it here: www.actionvfx.com/blog/tutorial-how-to-composite-bullet-hits
Thanks for this. Very nice but. . . How did those black marks get there? I dont think you put them on the actual concrete and then filmed it. Did you add them after you shot the footage? Thanks
I think he motion tracked it before then rendered them in it then tracked it again for the tutorial
Ahhh. OK thats a cool idea. Thanks TP.
The effect assets that you download from the ActionVFX website all come over WHITE backgrounds. How do you get rid of the white? It's not like it comes over black, like the old Action Movie Essentials and you could just set your blend mode to "Screen." And these do not have a pre-multiplied alpha channel. So what is your method of getting rid of the white and blending the effect assets with the video?
If an asset has a white background, simply use the Blending Mode "Multiply" to remove the white. Hope that helps!
ActionVFX it does! Thank you

Will this work for night shots?
Of course. How you composite these Bullet Hits largely depends on what type of scene you have. If it is darker, you may need to perform necessary color adjustments.
Please green screen video bullet hit please
