    I was sitting in a packed house, opening weekend. The crowd roared at this line.

    "Assimilate this" is right up there with "Hasta la vista, baby" :)

      My favourite Worf line is
      'I ordered a glass of prune juice from the replicator in the Defiant's mess THIS is what is came in!!!!!'

      is the litenent hawk corpse still floating out their or did they retrieve it or atleast photon torpedo it before going back to the future?

      @@randomrazr I've wondered the same. I'm assuming the Enterprise-E crew did not leave Hawk's assimilated body floating in orbit, where anyone in the past might find it and get assimilated. But they did miss the Borg bodies from the destroyed sphere (information from the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"), so anything is possible.

    Easily the best line that Worf ever got, and by far Michael Dorn's best job of putting it out there. 😊😊😊

    They have the ability to make transparent metal alloys in ST, like the famous transparent aluminium from The Voyage Home. You'd think they'd make the faceplates of their suits out of similar stuff - it would be shatterproof and nearly unbreakable in contrast to synthetics, glass, crystal or whatever.

      As I see it there are two possibilities. Either the plate is optimized to defend against forces other than physical trauma since as we can see from Worf most of the suit isn't physically armored anyway. Or option two that's a layered plate, and only the outer layer cracked while inside is the lining you described.

      The Borg may look like they're just exposed people with some bits stuck on but the assimilation process has turned them cybernetic at the cellular level. It alters genetic structure and the nanoprobes (nanorobots) in their blood stream allow them to regenerate wounds and resist damage, plus energy shielding that can easily filter out harmful radiation. And that's just what is KNOWN from Star Trek lore. The Borg have technology far beyond what other races of this universe have, put simply, they are capable of doing things that may have no easy explanation. Showing they can survive in the vacuum of space without any additional tools is a nice way of showing the audience (rather than telling) how advanced the Borg really are, in my view it's great storytelling.

    Did they not need that part of the deflector dish to recreate the conditions needed to time travel back to the future?

    • @NealX_Gaming
      @NealX_Gaming 18 днів тому

      The Enterprise can replicate parts for repairs as needed as long as it has power. Whether this was done or whether it was just hand-waved because the movie had to end is unknown.
