When it comes to qualifying for and actually becoming a Grand Servant, what matters is whether or not the Counter Force determines that said Heroic Spirit is qualified for taking on the current Beast they'll be summoned to combat. Orion is a good example as one of the greatest hunters in history he was originally summoned as a Grand Archer to help hunt down Koyanskaya. It's not that he was the most powerful Archer (although he's high up there) it was that his particular skills and noble phantasms were best suited to countering that particular threat. This means that Heroic Spirits with more noble phantasms have higher odds of qualifying for Grand status as they are more likely to have the tools in their kit that the Counter Force is looking for. However, the reason that Gilgamesh is so powerful and yet doesn't qualify is because he's not an expert at using any of his noble phantasms aside from Ea which has way too high of a collateral damage potential as an Anti-World NP. If Gilgamesh were summoned as a Grand then he'd likely not be skilled and/or willing enough to deal with the problem with anything besides overwhelming force. Although the Counter Force is not against such tactics, Beasts are serious opponents and Archer Gilgamesh is a bit of a loose cannon. It would be extremely messy.

The second, I am not sure that Gilgamesh has not mastered anything other than Ea. I mean, he fought Enkidu, who is a top-tier close range fighter, for three days, even though Enkidu had the ability to block GoB and Ea. (Gilgamesh's high divinity may also have something to do with him not being summoned as Grand)

Basically he should have had the Percival heal either for himself or the whole team. Even his profile dirextly says he has healing powers.
I played an rpg card game called Heroes of camelot and Fionn was in it and in its early days Fionn has been a broken meta for years and anyone who has had him could make a broken party and even 1 copy of him would make the a party a force to be reckoned with. Such was the powerhouse he was in that game until even 2021 but in fgo he's been downplayed so much just for everyone to simp for Scathach and Medb and her weird Knock na Riabh version 😂. Well at least they were somewhat good to Cu chulainn.😅
In terms of lore power, not particularly bad. He’s got some strong Parameters, good Class Skills, a number of impressive Personal Skills and three powerful Noble Phantasms, and it’s suggested that him being summoned in a different Class would only increase his strength. I’d put his gameplay performance down to bad implementation and I hear he’s doing somewhat better after his Skill Upgrades. In terms of Personality…he’s not looking too good. Obnoxiously flirting with Mash (legally a MINOR at the time), bragging to other Servants and passive-aggressively sniping at Diarmuid did little to endear him to me to the point where he is the ONLY Servant I chose to convert into a Rare Prism. With all that said, we still can’t deny his assistance during Salomon or the Enma-Tei event.
Fionn got the Guts route, without the any knowing of what he could even become....made such a great character into a womanizer...shame. I hope he gets more recognition somehow

Nasu has talked about stuff like Kadoc taking Ritsuka's place, saying he couldn't do it because he needs Lostbelt Anastasia specifically to even have a shot, her being much stronger than proper history her, and him having too weak plot armour. I still can't wrap my head around this statement since the very author says you need plot armour to finish the regular singularities. Kirschtaria is kind of the very top of the cream of mages, Nasu said he would do the best, but he couldn't beat one singularity in particular because they wouldn't help mash as a person and she is needed to win, that's kind of needed. Going by this we need a human hearted master. This all but leaves only people like Shirou, Rin, Waver, etc. Anyone starting out like this who is a better mage automatically has a better chance. An adult waver has good chances imo. Much better than fujimaru, since he is also someone who is human, but also adept at magic combat. Rin is a bit of a question mark given how she is a master of the 5 elements which only Paracelsus ever was in human history. That said, if we take the past as an example, she might fail at important times. She could become so incredibly broken she couldn't be stopped with Medea's help, or any major caster. Shirou is also a problem, Anime UBW is the strongest version we have (Miyuverse doesn't count), the real question is can he even function as a human. I don't know what happens to his magic circuits after Rin is out of he equation. That said, with Saber there he is actually invincible. There's not much to say about this. He is sort of auto win. He can pull his weight from the start, has the personality needed to make mash work, can project Avalon, use every NP archer has recorded including Harpe, can even challenge specific servants like Arjuna himself, and the anime all but puts bin on equal footing with archer towards the end of the fight, where he keeps absorbing Archer's existence. But that would be canon altering, the pulling his weight thing, because no way does Olga die with Shirou around. There's no way to tell what happens in FGO If someone can avoid these major points. Alternatively the discussion is pointless because depending on how you understand GO, all those servants need the most unremarkable, boring, untalented joke of a person to function together. They say this themselves multiple times in their voice lines. They praise Fujimaru for being character and quirkless, and mention how it may just be because of this that evil and good are balanced in chaldea. This pisses me off to no end but whatever.
I'm honestly surprised we got Lancer Fionn and not Saber Fionn, since, you know, his Mac An Luin is a sword in Irish mythology, not a spear. To be fair, Fionn should have been a 5-star servant, given that he's the equivalent of the Irish Gilgamesh. He's one of the most well-known Irish heroes, alongside Cu Chulainn, with more legends than there are Irish mythological figures. Also, Nasu, give him his son already! Oisin is also incredibly well-known, especially with Tir Na Nog and all that, would have been perfect for him to cameo in Avalon le Fae.
Even I got to admit he got ho'd and I'm English, so you know he was done dirty because historically England and Ireland weren't really the bestof friends.

This is something I dislike about Fate. You have this cool characters from myth and history, but they don't have to shine. Wether it's because of plot or the author's writing (not just Nasu). In FGO you could say they have more time to give them a spotlight, but no. I'm a fan of both Fionn and Diarmuid and seeing them reduced to memes it's sad. Funnily enough, they gave Fionn a voice line if you have Wandjina. It goes something like "A fairy from a far away land... Why are you following me?".
I agree with u during colonization a lot of Christians who belong from European cultures stole or even appropriated histories of others to make their stories of their figures more better and entertaining and white washed them, and other history is factual proven in the time periods they come from and a lot of Christians scrubbed histories of the irish history and many others and applied them to themselves, a lot of Roman, Greek and European history came from African historys cuz that's where they learned from, an example is Andromeda their is confusion among her race because people take the history of others than where she exactly came from, she's an Ethiopian princess, but somehow people say she's Greek and arabic due to some sort of story about her and it litterly says she's Ethiopian, which Ethiopia exists today and most of the natives were African not greek or Arabic, and Hercules was also seen defeated on an African coin by two Africans warriors like he was restrained. A lot of Europeans either lied or greatly exaggerated their history when their history comes from other histories thats why a lot of them have way to many similarities many of the greek and romans gods are definitely based off the yoruba gods in egypt even some Egyptians gods and African has the oldest civilization records, their are barely any records of king Arthur other than stories and some even question if he was real while Egyptians have birth records and recordings of their history till this day other than stories

Based on what I'm hearing about Fionn, he is supposed to be a grand level Servant with how many phantasms he has.
There is no connection between being a Grand and the number of NPs servant has, otherwise Gilgamesh will be Grand in all classes

Obnoxiously flirting with Mash (legally a MINOR at the time), bragging to other Servants and passive-aggressively sniping at Diarmuid did little to endear him to me to the point where he is the ONLY Servant I chose to convert into a Rare Prism. With all that said, we still can’t deny his assistance during Salomon or the Enma-Tei event.

Nasu has talked about stuff like Kadoc taking Ritsuka's place, saying he couldn't do it because he needs Lostbelt Anastasia specifically to even have a shot, her being much stronger than proper history her, and him having too weak plot armour.
I still can't wrap my head around this statement since the very author says you need plot armour to finish the regular singularities.
Kirschtaria is kind of the very top of the cream of mages, Nasu said he would do the best, but he couldn't beat one singularity in particular because they wouldn't help mash as a person and she is needed to win, that's kind of needed.
Going by this we need a human hearted master. This all but leaves only people like Shirou, Rin, Waver, etc.
Anyone starting out like this who is a better mage automatically has a better chance.
An adult waver has good chances imo. Much better than fujimaru, since he is also someone who is human, but also adept at magic combat.
Rin is a bit of a question mark given how she is a master of the 5 elements which only Paracelsus ever was in human history. That said, if we take the past as an example, she might fail at important times.
She could become so incredibly broken she couldn't be stopped with Medea's help, or any major caster.
Shirou is also a problem, Anime UBW is the strongest version we have (Miyuverse doesn't count), the real question is can he even function as a human. I don't know what happens to his magic circuits after Rin is out of he equation.
That said, with Saber there he is actually invincible. There's not much to say about this. He is sort of auto win. He can pull his weight from the start, has the personality needed to make mash work, can project Avalon, use every NP archer has recorded including Harpe, can even challenge specific servants like Arjuna himself, and the anime all but puts bin on equal footing with archer towards the end of the fight, where he keeps absorbing Archer's existence.
But that would be canon altering, the pulling his weight thing, because no way does Olga die with Shirou around. There's no way to tell what happens in FGO If someone can avoid these major points.
Alternatively the discussion is pointless because depending on how you understand GO, all those servants need the most unremarkable, boring, untalented joke of a person to function together.
They say this themselves multiple times in their voice lines. They praise Fujimaru for being character and quirkless, and mention how it may just be because of this that evil and good are balanced in chaldea.

I'm honestly surprised we got Lancer Fionn and not Saber Fionn, since, you know, his Mac An Luin is a sword in Irish mythology, not a spear. To be fair, Fionn should have been a 5-star servant, given that he's the equivalent of the Irish Gilgamesh. He's one of the most well-known Irish heroes, alongside Cu Chulainn, with more legends than there are Irish mythological figures. Also, Nasu, give him his son already! Oisin is also incredibly well-known, especially with Tir Na Nog and all that, would have been perfect for him to cameo in Avalon le Fae.
Even I got to admit he got ho'd and I'm English, so you know he was done dirty because historically England and Ireland weren't really the bestof friends.

This is something I dislike about Fate. You have this cool characters from myth and history, but they don't have to shine. Wether it's because of plot or the author's writing (not just Nasu). In FGO you could say they have more time to give them a spotlight, but no. I'm a fan of both Fionn and Diarmuid and seeing them reduced to memes it's sad. Funnily enough, they gave Fionn a voice line if you have Wandjina. It goes something like "A fairy from a far away land... Why are you following me?".

A lot of Europeans either lied or greatly exaggerated their history when their history comes from other histories thats why a lot of them have way to many similarities many of the greek and romans gods are definitely based off the yoruba gods in egypt even some Egyptians gods and African has the oldest civilization records, their are barely any records of king Arthur other than stories and some even question if he was real while Egyptians have birth records and recordings of their history till this day other than stories
