- We woke up in the town of Mazunte in Mexico and were about to travel up along the coast of the state of Oaxaca to the town of Puerto Escondido. We had previously been in Puerto Angel, Huatulco, Zipolite and other amazing towns along the coast of Oaxaca. It has been a great time and we were excited to head out on the 1 hour bus ride up along the coast.

Puerto Escondido is my favorite place in Mexico and I've been traveling throughout Mexico since the mid 80s.i never tell anyone about it cause i want to keep it my secret. Hope you and Maria can get together again soon she's a doll. Good luck with your travels William 👍 🙏🙏

I travel down to Mexico a lot when I can.Id like to see the area you are now.When I was traveling round Australia in the 80s, there were loads of Swedes back packing around staying in hostels.

I remember trying to swim there on Playa Zicatela, the waves were so big they would hammer you if you went 75 feet from shore. They closed it to surfing it was so dangerous.

Great videos William, thanks for making them. I have watched many of your videos to get some idea what mexico is like. I am considering going there for some remote work, probably next month and its one of the most easily accessible countries now it seems. I'm from Latvia so I can stay there for 3 months without applying for visa. I want to ask two questions. If you like the place can you perhaps extend your visa for a while from Mexico? And of course another one is about the safety. From your videos it seems that you get around there from town to town with buses and taxis without much stress. Would you say that its safe to do it there? How do you feel about safety in general there? Right now I'm living in tenerife and I dont worry much at all about safety, even after dark when I walk around alone. From what I have seen and read about mexico and Latin America in general I think that perhaps it wouldn't be quite the same anymore.

Instead of using a machete, hit the coconut at a 45-degree angle on a hard surface (concrete) so that the vine area (top) hits the concrete at that 45-degree angle. It will split open slightly. Insert a straw and drink! May save your fingers ;) I lived in Mexico for 5 years, and drank lots of coconut water!
