This short film took 4 months of planning, filming and editing to produce. We are super proud of it and we really hope you like it. If you do, consider liking and sharing it would mean alot to us.
Yes, I'm here in Puerto Escondido now - the airbnb kindly left me 2 plastic bottles of water in the fridge. If instead, they had left a 5 gallon reusable container of water with a spigot I would have started off on the right foot. My heart goes out to the people working in the dump.
@@jenniewilliams1668 thanks for raising this point! Of course, hotel owners should take responsibility along side all of us to to protect our planet. If they have a suggestion box, maybe let them know?
Great film, yes that fish scene was a heartbreaker. For travelers remember to bring a water bottle, street vendors will happily fill it up with their garaphons, big reusable water bottles, for free or a few pesos. I am less for recycling and more for rejecting plastic whenever you can. I am a convert to Mexican homemade bar shampoo for example...
We agree to reject plastic when ever you can. It almost seems rude because the people are so quick to bag everything, get you a straw and cant seem to understand not wanting another little plastic bottle of water, but its worth it. In our opinion The whole planet needs a just say no to single use plastic campaign. ✨🌈❤️
I absolutely support this initiative, working with Jungla Plásticos for many years now. At my business (a hostel) I have reduced plastic waste by around 90% with two simple actions: 1) a tab water filter system, which is not cheap but pays off over the years. I sell refillable bottles for a small price 2) ordering everything from producers in reusable glass bottles - they have it in their system, you just need to ask for it
Congratulations guys.... the editing, story telling and sound affects are AMAZING and I will forward your video (Instagram). The plastic inside the fish is an eye opener 😳
Puerto Escondido's "Sustainable Problem" is also a worldwide ECO problem which for some is being ignored, public awareness needs to be re-addressed if we are to co-exist and save our planet. ECO education should be a part of the school curriculum, TV, Radio and other media communications must play their part. Governments need to make companies aware of their non-recycling products and to make provisions where necessary. A worthy documentary special that could be accepted by the education authorities to be shown in Schools and Event Shows. Effects of ECO waste is a serious concern for all, it's remarkable to hear that small independents can make a difference, with limited funding and the determination to make a better world needs to be commended.
Thanks Dad, couldn’t agree more! We have actually had some response from local school here to sh or the documentary and it has sparked a lot of conversations in the town including being talked about on the local radio. Hopefully it’s the start of some change!
This was so powerful, really eye opening seeing what came out of that fish. Good on the locals for trying to take action. Beautifully told by you guys!
amazing short film 👏🏻 thanks for your work guys and for spreading consciousness concerning these horrible topics. I lived in Puerto Escondido for 2 months and didn't notice the problem... the fish scene is heartbreaking
Yes it’s one of the problems Puerto and many other beach towns around the world face. Thanks for your support and hopefully with help from the community change will come!
Jack did a great job filming, and I love Tamara's narration. Definitely, the 4months of hard work reflects the quality of this short film. It's nice to see all the people trying to make a difference in their own way. Keep the fire burning, guys! I'll be around 🤙🏼
Thanks so much for your message! By trade, I (Tamara) am a journalist and Jack is a videographer, so we certainly put our skills to good use here. We really appreciate your support 🙌
Wow I love that you've actually interviewed locals on the ground floor like this, so fascinating to get their unique perspective! Such a shame to see the destruction the tourist industry has brought the this wonderful little town!
Absolutely outstanding guys👏. You are very talented film makers and deserve huge recognition and success 🙌. Thank you for drawing attention to this huge worldwide problem. Your film could be shown on mainstream television and should be in our opinion! Can't wait for your next video, huge fans. Take care, Shell and Pete
Shell and Pete this message means the world! Thanks for watching and supporting our endeavours. Oh we’re certainly dreaming of mainstream TV one day…. Netflix here we come ;) back on the grind for the next doco now!
Very good video of the pollution that we humans make, this puts into perspective how much damage all these plastics cause, nice to see everyone that are out cleaning it up and recycling……liked and subbed
thanks for the great documentary, I spent a couple of days in Puerto Escondido and was shocked about the amount of garbage lying around and swimming was sometimes disgusting with all the trash in the ocean. It is heartbreaking because it is such a beautiful town and the pristine beaches are like a dream! I am planning to return in September and I will reach out to some of you to help out for a couple of weeks. Take care and thanks for all the hard work for sustainable development!❤
We bloody hope this is the start of the plastic revolution for Puerto and other Latin American towns! It’s has definitely sparked conversations throughout the town which is a good start
Great movie/MV, so beautifully photographed and video taped, yet the warning is important. I think with peoples' effort like what you are doing, the coastal line will be more sustainable. Thank you very much for your effort to save the world.
The beach looks good. Its a shame to see so much dump around, throwing it in sea has its own drawbacks. We all need to be responsible towards throwing the waste. Its good that you highlighted.
*What a beautiful beach. The waves are so nice and the scenery is so beautiful. Watching the video gives me healing. Thank you for sharing a wonderful video.💖👍🙏*
Waste pollution/crisis is one big issue we need to be aware of and resolve not just in Mexico but all over the world,so much plastics and wastes everywhere. Well done to those responsible people who are helping how to at least lessen plastic. It's going to be a massive effort from everyone of us to do our part minimizing wastes. It's a sad thing to watch that the earth is now taken over by wastes but this is the reality that we have to be aware of.. Thanks Jack and Tamara for producing such documentary.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and support. You’re right, this is a global problem! If we can at least inspire one person to do better, then our documentary was worth it
This is cool! I like your ideas you put us in new perspective. You got it right from the start! I felt your potential for continuity. I just became your fans! Exchange is just a virtual courteous gesture of appraisal.
The people of puerto are amazing! Please use your reusable bottles. It’s easy! I clipped my with a d-ring to my carry on,no issues whatsoever. When I was there I joined a small beach clean up but I had no idea of the local issue this film highlighted. As a surfer/fisherman However, I’m well aware of what plastic has done to OUR earth. I am great full to the people of puerto and the people involved in this film. You are the difference the world needs. ✌️,❤️,respect from Boston,Ma🏄🏽♂️
