  • Amanda Seales Done Protecting Issa Rae & Talks About Issa Not Empowering Women
Shannon Sharpe: I had Lil Rel and he says that Issa, most of her set is with women; camera people, etc, etc. And that she's very empowering to women.
Amanda Seales: I disagree. She wasn't empowering to me. She didn't feel like I deserved to be protected... I have still always protected her because I felt like it is my responsibility to do so, but I realize now it is not.

If she means toxic overbearing intense and way into their business and with tons of expectation and pressure. That’s already what’s happening to her. It’s why she keeps attracting conflict. I know, she can’t read the room…and trying to invite people to hang out, totally immature. Calling someone a Revolutionary Nikka is crazy…too opinionated and set on how the world should work…wanting to hang out at a party where someone CLEARLY did not want you there and you used other people to try and weezle your way through then get mad when they chest bump you to leave…feeling hurt and rejected is a choice, that whole experience is her choice..then coming on a show to talk about it and admit she cried and people were not moved…sadly pathetic but she has chosen that experience…there is genuine love in the Universe for her but she flocks towards people that will never like her…she needs a life coach to remove her from being addicted to this victimhood mentally. All those characters she is talking about are so petty…the host of the show is clearly bored and struggling to engage in the substance of her pettiness…she needs psychotherapy and a more open mind. Shay this was an embarrassment after the heavy hitters you had…she added nothing to our lives. People don’t like her because she is lost…an ungrounded immature adult.

Not really. Someone like that you can’t really “rectify” things with. They do things out of malice because of their own insecurities. She put Amanda in harms way. Not liking someone isn’t a reason to put them in harm’s way and then smear their name afterwards because she finally got an answer for why she was blocked from a networking party that was supposed to be a safe environment. Nothing to rectify. She gave her plenty of chances to “talk.” It wasn’t until ISSA finally came to HER after she said “that’s between y’all” did the publicist want to talk. ISSA should have reined in her publicist from the get go. The fact that she didn’t means ISSA was ok with what was happening. Amanda did the right thing and removed herself altogether. The entire set was toxic.

Otherwise she would have started the conservation with “Amanda, here’s what you did …” The publicist didn’t want resolution. She wanted to dunk on Amanda. Years ago I peeped that Issa Rae did not like Amanda. They were doing press for the second season of Insecure and it was Issa's body language towards Amanda. If the boss doesn't like you the rest of the team is not going to support you in anyway. I've heard some things about Issa but she has a very likeable public persona so it does not get any traction.

The OP said that he/she has heard negative things about Issa that apparently came from someone other than Amanda. Not saying that the things the OP heard are true, nor what Amanda said either, but still to be dismissive is part of the problem.

It is unfortunate that Issa and the publicist didn't even apologize for how sloppy and toxic that party scene went. Very heartless. Kind of sus too for Issa to immediately reach out after the incident just to say it wasnt her fault, as if someone said it was...
