NOPE. Her interpretation of events is extremely narrow, the constant focus on others’ shortcomings and complaining and her brand of militarism rings so very false and unhealthy. She creates more battles than she actually has to fight. ALSO, autism spectrum disorder in ALL women is difficult to diagnose. It rarely happens. There’s enough racism out there not to attribute it to places where that isn’t the main cause.
I’m glad I preserved through this interview because the first 30 minutes were BRUTALLLLL!!!! Shannon just portrayed every negative situation that Amanda highlighted from her past. But I’m happy Amanda said her peace throughout the end.
Exactly, I'm glad I watched the end first..bc he was definitely trying to discredit her. A lot of times, men think women are just complaining, but she handled him well
Kids being taught to not speak up against adults is the main reason so many kids were molested and continued to be due to the fear of being molded to not speak up for themselves. I teach my daughter that you have the right to speak up for yourself as long as it’s done respectfully, even if it’s against me.
I learn sometimes when people are sharing their experiences, don’t play devil’s advocate, especially when it’s life experiences. You’re only hearing the story, they lived it

Amanda guided this interview. She made sure she finished her stories and her current work was known. I see her in a new light. I enjoyed this interview.
So you going to argue with an 8 year old or are you taking it up with their parents? Exactly. Kids aren’t racist. Maybe when they become teenagers, but kids can’t be racist.
I love how they maturely move past their differences and kept the interview going while still laughing and enjoying each other. I don’t see that enough.
I feel like she recognizes when people are stupid and she chooses to not get stuck there. She navigated multiple triggers with grace...because there were several times within the first 20 minutes where she could've (and should've) eaten him alive....not because she wanted to...but he was saying some really dumb things that were obvious and needed to be corrected. But I think she is starting to become exhausted with having to navigate other peoples improper thinking. Shes starting to choose her battles...almost seems like she is protecting her peace.
I LOVE how Amanda explains her point of view, her experiences, and her story; then when Shannon disagrees and attempts to discredit her she just stops talking and listens to him, then uses those moments intelligently in the conversation later to prove and support her point!
Thank You Amanda for standing firm in YOURSELF. U bared all and embraced your ability that some see as a disability. U go girl!!!!🎉❤🫶🏽👸🏽 Be Proud and Continue to Stand Tall.
@rla8713 Many people with autism have this experience where they are bullied, exploited, and ostracized! Even if people didn't like her, why are they comfortable at openly humiliating her, saying cruel things to and about her! That type of behavior is inappropriate regardless if they like a person or not! Even if I don't particularly care for someone, I don't need to gossip, slander, judge, or humiliate another human being because that isn't a reflection of that person, it's a reflection of me. Now, if someone does something to you, then you directly go to that person and address it. My heart goes out to autistic individuals because they aren't harming anyone. They just operate, process, and show up differently than mainstream society! But they deserve to be seen, heard, and respected as well!
Facts! Ppl with autism that are adults genuinely act just like her! They are very likable ppl. They just don’t fit the mold. Love that about them and Amanda. ❤️
In my opinion, Amanda is so self-aware and direct and a segment of the people who strongly don't like her or find her annoying are arguably uncomfortable because they don't have or have not personally reached her level of awareness, confidence, & unapologetic resolve to fight injustice. The mindset is "I can't silence my voice and saying the hard truths because of anyone else's discomfort" and I 100% understand it & support it. I am also appreciate Amanda's candidness and the visibility/representation of someone living on the spectrum.
She can effectively articulate her experience and stand it unapologetically because she's smart and educated, it's a threat to anyone else who can't🤷🏽♀️ it's an offense to those people. Salute Amanda!🔥
I deal with the same things, but somehow I still think her becoming famous and "successful" allowed a certain amount of arrogance that when added with her diagnosis could make her unbearable for a lot of people. In a way that people could easily dismiss her and make the claim that they don't "like" her, I also feel as though she needed to feel this way to become this self aware in a good way.
I've heard some bad things about Amanda, so I figured I'd check this out 2C and I'm really impressed, I think she's awesome in so many ways, I with that.

The fact that he did the interview speaks volumes to his desire to have dialogue and grow. People will rather criticize him for trying and opening his self up to criticism rather than respect and appreciate his vulnerability. I haven’t seen Amanda on any other platform outside of her own social media accounts. I’m glad she got to tell her story and engage in meaningful dialogue.
nope. if you wana grow than sit there listen and learn. growth doesn’t come from being antagonistic and challenging someone’s intelligence and experience. growth would be listening and learning.
Amanda spoke for a lot of women in this interview that don't have the platform or even the courage to speak up about things like this. One of the hardest things to navigate in life is being misunderstood. When your intentions and someone's perception don't align it is a perfect storm for these experiences. I absolutely loved this interview and the fact that she got to shine light on exactly who she is.
THISSSS I felt so seen in this interview. I communicate like her and often feel isolated. I want to reach out to her and tell her that I SEE HER AND ACKNOWLEDGE HER!
Agreed! ESPECIALLY when a woman is speaking. People are not as particular about tone-policing men. Even another woman may give a man more grace if he's passionate vs a woman.
That about sums it up. Whenever you read critique of her 99.9% of the time it’s rooted in her delivery. Most people either just can’t get past it because society is brainwashed to like the fake or they simply don’t want to get past it. Gives them an excuse to dismiss what she’s saying. Smh.
100 percent! I've always gravitated to Amanda Seales because she is so honest. And she's not brutally honest, but she's honest with empathy and with strong intentions to better people. It's crazy that it has been misunderstood for so long.
Amanda showed great mastery in that interview. At the start, as her experience and her perceptions were in my opinion minimized, she patiently stood in her power and authority and scholarship. She also did not engage in an ego battle but continued through connection never wavering from her point of view. Shannon Sharpe also sets the tone and is willing to ask questions on behalf of his audience that maybe uncomfortable. It was refreshing to see them both work at and through this conversation.
I really appreciate your perspective. You didn't insult either party, instead you looked at their interview from a very mature and empathetic POV👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Amanda is literally the best. So honest and authentic. Her industry doesn't like her because of that. She doesn't follow the crowd she follows whats right!! I LOVE HER!!
@notthe1_orthe2 it helped me see my own biases with her and others. Life is about constant evolution + growth. I too followed narratives about her coming from some of those news outlets. But the more she explained, and the more I heard her I'm like......"that's me"! I can relate to almost all of what she said. And the *Insecure* sequence of events really changed my mind about Issa. She never seemed like a "girls girl" to me. And they painted Amanda's character in the worst light on the show. The energy was so telling through the screen. Her sides of the story made more sense!
Same here. Always felt like a circle trying to fit in a square box, so I twisted myself to fit it and is exhausting. Now I understand myself a little better!!

As a white male who grew up with a culturally diverse extended family . 100% Racism in all forms is LEARNED as is colourism within each race. I had friends of all colours and ethnicities and only understood is all to be different not “different” I do believe Children brought up in racist environment don’t understand the effect or impact of their behaviour being racist because it’s simply what they’re brought up with no less excusable but up to an age ( because if your not being educated at home it your being taught at school ) it’s about the fact that your hurting someone period regardless of context and correcting that behaviour immediately. You blame the upbringing not necessarily the product. Unfortunately it’s all learned behaviour … children are not born thinking their differences can be perceived as negative be it race lifestyle gender sexuality religion….. they are taught to be cogniscent of these perceptions based on things passed on . The hard part on both sides is just letting go. On one side it’s realizing your ancestors passed issues have nothing to to do with your current existence understand we are just people and differences are surface level in every way . On the receiving side it’s hard to let go of all the of the atrocities youre ancestors experienced as the hands of people with these issues , because while you’re world is different they went through it get you here and letting go may feel like you’d be denying their struggle so you end up carrying it forward in a way as well .

My thoughts exactly.
Kids being taught to not speak up against adults is the main reason so many kids were molested and continued to be due to the fear of being molded to not speak up for themselves. I teach my daughter that you have the right to speak up for yourself as long as it’s done respectfully, even if it’s against me.

Being called the “N” word by CHILDREN, qualifies as racism. They didn’t call EACH OTHER the same name; they knew who to direct the word to, Shannon.

@@JaNeeDiahann1225Thank you!

She is a critical thinker and that’s difficult for a lot of people to practice.

It's okay to be a free thinker however be mindful of what you say because there is repercussions for everything ....
@@alonalove3118 I agree with you. Also, be able to take criticism/pushback from others as you have criticized them.
Amen 🙏🏾 Amen 🙏🏾 Amen 🙏🏾
This interview helped me to see Amanda in a new light and it also shed light on how the industry wants you to be docile, silent, and keep your head down and will bully those who refuse to bow down.
Same! She continues to surprise me and warm me over.
INDEED!!
I love these comments. We waiting for yall to join her patreon. SealesSquad
I never knew people saw her in ANY type of negative light until reading comments on social media platforms about this interview. I thought we ALL f*cked with her! 🤷♂
If she was 10 years old and was able to recognize the other kids were wrong for callimg her the N word, then the other 10 year olds should have the capability to understand that them saying the word was wrong and excuses shouldn't be made for them.
Exactly. Them White kids ain’t calling other white kids the n word. That’s cuz they know and they know it’s wrong and hurtful.
😂 she was autistic that’s why she understood
Girrrrrl, I LOVE ME SOME YOU! You are a BEAUTIFUL SOUL and Sister, WE NEED YOU HERE!!!!! Thank You! 🙏🏾🤗🥰💕💃🏾
Yeah I didn’t realize we were giving age minimums for racism lol. What age are racists allowed to be racists? 18? 21? 25? It’s not like these were 2 year olds repeating a word and not knowing its meaning. They’re no different from the kids hurling racial slurs at Ruby Bridges. Can’t believe he said that.
exactly!
One of my favorite interviews EVER - saying that with zero surprise. I expected nothing less, and STILL was quite enlightened throughout!
To be judged, misunderstood and unprotected is exhausting and very lonely.
Indeed it is.. I'm currently there!
Say it again for those in the cheap seats.
Deep
It’s just life
Very
Thank you Shannon Sharpe for this interview with Amanda Seales. Even through those rough patches, you both were committed to staying engaged and getting through what turned out to be a great and insightful interview. Kudos
Thank God for her mother. Amanda is really a gift I pray the world doesn’t ruin her spirit. I pray we all continue to grow and learn from people that are bold enough to share their stories.
Definitely a very intelligent woman, I love seeing someone who knows how to use critical thinking and effectively use language in a conversation
This interview gave me a whole new appreciation for Amanda Seales
Definitely ! She needed to get that weight off
And less for Shannon.
I'm in deep agreement
😒 Whatever! This Broad need a Muzzle💯
Totally agree with not hugging someone you don't vibe with. Not going to be fake or phony.
weird to ask for one later...
I’ll give you a hug
I don't hug people I do vibe with.
Not embracing that energy. Get tf back!
Right. I don’t want that energy to rub off on me. 😅
Amanda is so self aware and at the same time extremely vulnerable. I luv it❤❤
❤
GREAT INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!! I hope folks are REALLY LISTENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will NEVER make me hate AMANDA! I LOVE HER!
DOWNNN I ZONT PLAY ABOUT HERRR
Ever in a million years
Not me, I hate her.
Lmao…
Same!❤
It took him over an hour to be self aware and to stop putting his thoughts of what’s right or wrong on Amanda. Kudos to her for setting him straight. The essence of a good interviewer is the ability to listen and hear
💯
I thought those were just simple follow up questions that he usually asks people for clarification. Even if he made a mistake she just turned it around and used it as a knife to stab him with
This interview was necessary for him as well!! I knew Amanda is always going to stay true to herself, but I feel like he can listen and learn as well. This will help his platform and others who need to hear it and be challenged in this way.
@@spendleton79 what did he need to learn? Outside of Shannon learning how to identify her personality disorder (not autism as that is not a PD) there was nothing profound about what she said. Talking to her is a useless blank mission.
I can't wait for y'all to come back after being updated 😂. What y'all got to say about her now lol
I love Amanda. She keeps it REAL. We live in a world where people are selling their SOUL for a price and she’s not one of them
Oh yes she is. Everyone has a price. Everyone. And she's got hers.
Amanda better than me I would have ended the interview he is ignorant & clueless & not listening
Only 🌈 men love that misandrist
It's giving "chosen one..." we're gifted babe...
Amanda is a gem. She comes from a place of truth and integrity. Very rare in Hollywood, or anywhere for that matter. Shannon is not use to someone like Amanda. I think they both grew from this conversation. Shannon is opening a space for truth.
I have true appreciation and respect for Amanda. She is a self-confident, brilliant, sophisticated woman who understands her own power and value. She is a wonderful example of not "playing small" to become non-threatening to the insecure people around you.
💯
"Most people read it as anger but what your seeing is deep hurt" OMG that resonates with me so much
Anger is hurt though... It makes no sense in reality
Then go to therapy...
Stop bleeding on everybody....
Call Sukihana for antidepressants
I agree with you! It resonates with me too! I beat you, myself and Amanda are 4s. We are always misunderstood. We are always the innovators!
She must be a Capricorn like I
This is one of Shannon's hardest interviews to me haven't watched em all yet but most definitely this is number 1 rn
i agree. they're definitely not on the same wave
As a POC educator, CHILDREN CAN BE AND ARE RACIST. It's a LEARNED mentality
If a white child isn’t racist then they are being taught values counterproductive to their people’s well being.
FACTS!!!
@@matthewlima7121but they are racist and are still racist and their adulthood! We can’t excuse it bc most never unlearn. So we have to judge them at face value, like actually guilty until proven otherwise like this justice system! We actually see the racism!
@@matthewlima7121 Racism is a form of otherism and humans are predisposed to some form of the latter. Studies have shown 1) We prefer people who look like us (or like someone in our family), 2) We prefer people we see as similar to ourselves, etc. So while a specific strain may be “learned”, we are easy to learn and apply it and in the case of “racism” of whites against non-whites, and for the former it has been immensely enriching and empowering as morally degrading as it may be, therefore it survives and perpetuates.
