Excellent review. I thought I was missing four screws and the nut when I opened the package so fortunately I found your video and saw that you’ve clarified that I have to use parts from the OE rail. Great job
I wish they added a picatinny rail section at the front of the rail for a backup iron sight, it seems to be the one thing they missed out on to make it the perfect rail.
glad you posted this video. I have this Sig 516 patrol and the stock hand rail is way to short for a weapon light in my opinion. Running a Surefire M600 on the right side and the tape switch on top. It works but could be much better if there was a longer rail closer to the flash suppressor.

If Sig would put an "LWRC IC-A5 style" m-lock handguard on the 516, it would be much more hand/accessory friendly, while allowing for piston cleaning without handguard removal, AND they'd probably quadruple their sales of the 516. Great rifle, but crappy handguard design.

So do you have to remove that bottom hand guard piece anytime you want to clean the piston? I am assuming so. I just ordered this handguard and that was my only question.

The answer is no. You just have to take off the 6 screws that hold the carbonfiber tube and slide it out. It’s pretty easy!

Weight difference of the Lancer System Carbon-fiber handguard and the stock handguard of the Sig 516, is not much. The carbon-fiber is a tad lighter but what makes the difference is the leverage you have on the forearm. Because it is extended, you have more control on the rifle and feels lighter. Overall, this is worth the upgrade in my humble opinion.
I suppose this handguard wouldn't be compatible with a sig m400 would it? I was hoping to put one of these on my m400. Oh well

None that I know of, for sig 716.

Bank Soikum, weight difference of the OEM Sig 516 handguard and the aftermarket Lancer Systems Carbon Fiber handguard is minimal. Lancer handguard give take 0.7oz lighter, at least on my weighing scale. But the consolation is, you have a much better leverage on the rifle because it is extended so it feels much lighter. Plus the minimalist design and carbon fiber feel, it is a very good upgrade at least from my experience. Hope I answered your question. Thanks!

how much lighter is the lancer compared to the OEM handguard?
I just got mine in the carbine length and put it on the scale. The Lancer is 4.02 ounces while the OEM is 5.19 ounces.
will that Lancer cf handguard work on any AR-15 or just the Sig 516?
