Glad ya dig it. There’s a tremendous amount of misinformation and B.S. out there that does nothing but retard our industry’s growth. It also leads to states passing ridiculous regulations that are bad for land owners and loggers. We have an education problem in this industry and it makes no sense.
Good discussion , i have seen a couple of cruisers do core samples on white oak and soil test , however there were big bidders on said timber. Great job !! MERRY Christmas and many blessing's your way .

Congratulations on 10k Subscribers. Your Knowledge of Veneer Logs is Fantastic. I do know what you mean by Grubs in the White Oak and you can not tell until you Cut it down. Also Carpenter Ants in White, and Red Oak. You start cutting up your Firewood and bang loaded with Ants. We sure could learn alot from each other in the types of Wood. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, (SAFETY IN THE FELLING DEPT), AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. RON FROM THE WOODYARD IN DUANESBURG NY.

How do you merchandise a tree once it's on the ground? Would love to see a video where you cut a tree to mill specs and explain how you get the most money out of a tree. Loving the content and learning a lot! Merry Christmas and thanks for the videos.
Trees are always dont count your chickens until they hatch. In northern wisconsin we get frost cracks all the time that show up deep in the trunk and drive the price down. We've adjusted😂. Have a Merry Christmas.

Pretty much lumber
There are exceptions to every rule obviously
But you can’t base pricing on once off situations
I also saw you 40” red oak you cut

Yes but not in this area.

We still sell em for quarter saw but the price is about 30-40 percent of good veneer.

sometimes the presence of vines on the outside indicates invasion of the cambium by ivy etcetera leading to defect. lots of active ivy is a problem

Good white oak is 4-8 bucks a foot Doyle
