Actually, cats only do that because the water seriously bothers them. Most cats don't like water because they can't shake off as well as dogs can and the water makes their fur VERY heavy and makes them cold.

Nirvana will be given more (deeper) water later. We started her out with just a little and will gradually increase the amount of water in the pool.

As a docent at a wildlife park, I always explained them to kids as being small big cats... On stilts!
