This was a great promotional sales pitch video for Origin....bravo, and unlike nearly every one of your other reviews, there is a deliberate evasion of mentioning the cost. Basically, "take one for the team" and buy Amerikan, even if it costs more for less! I've had a pair of these boots on my bench and from my cynical view, they are deliberately constructed in a manner in which a resole is going to be a PITA, which equals $$$. Since there isn't a genuine midsole--the "midsole" is actually the footbed--replacing the outsole requires prepping the footbed to accept the new outsole, typically by sanding, which must be done without damaging the blake stitches. Furthermore, in order to properly re-sew the stitchdown area--in a manner which won't create new holes in the upper--that area must be hand-stitched. Even one of the greatest master cobblers on UA-cam wasn't able to hit all of the holes on a Danner rebuild, and as you are aware, without a Goodyear welt to be replaced, those holes become a permanent Achillies heel in the upper. So a new re-sole requires part of the work on a McKay, and the balance must be hand-sewn. For a $330 boot, a $225-$250 re-sole is approaching that point that most customers will opt for buying a new boot. Well-played, Origin, well-played. Incidentally, there's no mention of a factory rebuild option, either. Aside from the rhetorical blather about buying in the US, these boots need at least need a midsole and a shank. Try climbing a ladder or standing on a pair of leg spikes without a shank and you'll discover immediately why a shank is needed; that shouldn't even have been an issue.
The cost is on their website and he said it was a $250 boot constructed somewhere else so anyone with half a brain can tell there’s a 50% premium buying an American made boot. Not rocket science. And 90% of the people wearing these aren’t getting them for hard use work boots and climbing ladders all day. If buying something made in the US and keeping ur money here is just “rhetorical blather” to you then just don’t buy them. But again there are tons of people here that prefer buying stuff made here and are willing to pay extra for it so u just kinda sound like an America hater or something trying to dis people that like supporting American companies.
I hope you’re very selective about which sponsors you work with. You don’t want to ruin your credibility in this space. It takes years to grow it, but only a day to ruin it. I really appreciate your knowledge! Thanks!
I love and have subscribed to this channel. But I totally agree with you. They simply should not be doing these "the sponsor of this video is origin" and "in this video we will look at origin boots" type reviews. It muddies the waters in too many ways to name.
@@toddchapman9038bingo. He can have sponsored videos, but just space them out a little and give it a format other than the literal testing. He’s already done this boot, so just interview the people and let them tell the story. Or give some away on another video. But you have to be so clear that you aren’t putting out puff pieces, beyond just saying it. Then people also worry about the brand relationship affecting the top 5 videos and such.
They pay him 20k for these commercials. They're a bargain compared to TV airtime but at the end of the day this is just advertising. Best to just watch his videos on mute then you can form a proper opinion.
I love what these guys are doing, and fully support it. That said, this video really feels like an influencer video and not an independent video. It felt like you took all the company bullet points and tried to shoehorn (pun intended) them into product ties. It’s made to be athletic, like jujitsu. It’s steeped in the history of Maine in these ways…..you do a good job of breaking down construction, don’t let companies change what you do.
Yeah he said the boots were provided by them, that they sponsored the video and that he's very biased towards companies like this that try and source all materials from the US, like come on.
10:47 "When businesses are all about making money, a lot of times the ethics and those values take a second seat to the money". Ironic considering the amount of sponsored videos and weaker content as of late?
@@jca66 By not going easy on something that's sent in by an advertiser or by advertising something that is truly good. Just after reading comments or looking around online you can tell that the boots are not nearly as good as he makes them seem in the video...
All the other product review channels find a way, and RA has as well. Reviewing the sponsors product is just cringe. I am still going to watch his videos; but, his cred score with me dropped a little. @@jca66
I agree the jeans are nice, but they need to make sizes down to 28" waist. The stretch material makes these too big for me and I can't send them back since I tried to see if they would shrink with washing and drying. They didn't. For now they are my winter jeans when I need to wear a layer under. The boots are nice but agree with the changes that could be made. I also don't like the blake stitch in the back. It looks like too much water and snow could get in there. The new gusseted tongue was uncomfortable for my foot because of the thick leather used. Other boots companies use different methods and materials to help with that fold. I appreciate what they are doing though and hope they continue. For now I have been looking at the JK 300 line of boots.
I found the denim material too stretchy for my liking. I can see the appeal of why someone else might enjoy them, but for the money - they just weren't to my liking.
@@ahhmeeb9354 Yeah thats fair. I would buy pacific northwest for now until they perfect their boots. agree the blake stitch might let water in eventually.
I love my Origin boots. More than the 2 pairs of JKs I have. The main reason I bought the Origin boots was their so much emphasis on "America". The same reason I bought my first pair of JK. The Origin boots turned out to be way better than I expected.
After Chippewa stopped making the apache boot, it took me two years to find Origin as a replacement boot. So far they are holding up well, they had a huge sale on Black Friday, $100+ off. So I bought 5 pairs, in case they suddenly stopped making them like Chippewa.
When somebody can afford to discount something by a hundred dollars.... It makes me kinda wonder how much margin they've got. I'm glad you're happy with the boots!
I bought a pair of boots from origin and had nothing but issues with them. The boots they sent me had the heel falling off, right out of the box and the composite toes on the left boots was really crooked. They told me since they were handmade they may have some cosmetic issues. I sent them an email and waited almost a month for a response. They sent me another pair of boots that had the same exact issue. I had them give me a refund. I hope that anyone who buys anything from them has better luck than I did. They made the claim handmade meant they might look or be built like shit.
Yea same deal wasn’t impressed with the quality at all especially for $300+…. Returned and got red wings instead. This boot is not worth anywhere near the asking price. Handmade and “MITUSA” is a gimmick at this point unless you’re getting Nicks boots or other reputable PNW makers. P.S I live near red wing mn and the heritage line of boots is still made here in red wing😀. Couldn’t care less that some stuff is imported if the quality is great which it is and they use their own leather.
@@CarrotConsumer There are loads of high quality goods coming out of China, just as many as anywhere else. I think it's easy, especially for Americans, to forget that China is both larger and more populous than almost any other country on Earth. There's just going to be more products coming out of China meaning, by numbers, more of the kind of garbage that every other country on earth makes. The grocery store up the street has sacks that are made in America, doesn't stop the handles from popping off if you load them too heavy.
I love my Origin boots. More than the 2 pairs of JKs I have. The main reason I bought the Origin boots was their so much emphasis on "America". The same reason I bought my first pair of JK. The Origin boots turned out to be way better than I expected.
I wanted to like Origin. Bought a pair. Stitch failed after 1 month. Contacted the company and it took the more than a month to even get back to me. I had them repaired locally because I got tired of waiting. A year later the footbed is totally collapsed. They’re unwearable. Do. Not. Buy.
As much as I love buying Made in USA, I just can't get behind these. To start, I think they are really ugly. More importantly though, these are nearly completely synthetic. I just don't see the upside. There are so many options from other companies that have a high "Made in USA" percentage of components. Thursday has a made in USA collection for far less money than these, or anything from White's, Nick's, or JK. You also have brands like Truman Boot Co. And Oak Street Bootmakers. There's too much competition to justify the $330 price with nearly all synthetic materials.
I have a pair of these with the wedge soles, and I would 100% buy them again. The leather is very nice quality, and the boots are very comfortable. I agree with you that two nice additions would be speed hooks, and a shank on the non wedge sole versions. I would like to grab a pair of these with the big lug soles, but won’t purchase them until they add a shank to that version. Until then I’ll stick to me wedge soles and be happy.
Cannot justify the full price given internal materials. Red Wing heritage boots are built better with better materials. Truman Boots as well. Surprised you did not slam them like others with similar internals.
These center cut scores feel inflated🧐 Love the videos and appreciate the knowledge you pass on. I feel so informed on what I want and need out of my work boots. So much wasted money and foot pain could have been avoided.
So far my boots from Origin are performing well. The jeans are proven, just bought another pair on Black Friday and some shirts. I will keep supporting them, good products and support American workers.
I'Ve seen these advertised for awhile, I looked at the construction and am going to wait for a few upgrades on the boot. I do support the Ideology of the company and hope for the best for ORIGIN.
Not sure if economical at all, but why not take out the laces before you cut a boot in half and either sell or ship them with an order (like for kilties)? I know, it is a droplet, but although I am not a leftie XR environmentalist hippie at all, I do think that cutting the laces with the boot is wasteful. Love to hear your thoughts.
I have had a pair for about a year now and love them, comfortable and light! Although i would not call these working boots, more like casual/light hiking boots.
Not US, but UK. I don't need convincing, but Altberg boots, especially the military ones are the best I have ever had, and a lot less expensive than many on here, so I feel you'd be impressed if you ever got your hands on a pair.
About manufacturing in the USA. The NPR program The Color Money did an article a few years ago tracking the complete production process of t-shirt for their show. They started with the cotton grower in the south Mississippi or Louisiana. Because there no mills in the US, the raw cotton then went to Pakistan (I think) then the fabric went to Colombia. I cannot recall if that was to be dyed or cut. But only then did it come back to the US to be finished. We have lost a lot of our manufacturing capabilities and need to bring them back. I understand globalization, but there is something to be said for being able to be self sufficient.
Origin has a youtube channel where they walk through the whole production line. I know they make their Gi fabric in house and I think they might do their t-shirts as well. They source their denim from a mill in georgia.
You need to look up the FTC regulations for " MADE IN USA " claims. A certain high percentage of the materials have to be domestic and that transformation from materials into the product ( boots in this case ) has to be done here. This means the upper pretty much has to be domestic leather and it has to be transformed into a boot upper here in the USA. You can't say it's MADE IN USA if the upper is sewn together in a foreign country.
This is correct, I believe Chippewa got stuck with their hands in the cookie jar over this with their apache and other service boot models. They were forced to change their label to assembled in the usa rather then the original made in the usa label they were putting on their boxes.
I own 2 pairs just over a year, got them during black friday sale 30% off. Lincoln and Coronado. I find they comfortable pretty much out of the box and holding up well. Also good deal at 30% off. Happy to support American businesses, products when I can. I don't consider them hard-core work boot. Like they say use right tool for the job.
I have bought a lot of camo and clothing from Origin - but I have wanted to wait a while longer before buying boots from them. I’ve loved their camo and clothing.
I want all your suggested improvements and I'd really like a slightly sleeker toebox. Love the made in US spirit. Production capability and quality is something America needs to take real pride in again.
Thanks for doing a second video on Origin and their boots. I just received my Buffalo big lug boots in black. I frigging love them! I love wearing them despite the leather still being stiff and needing more break in. As well I've never had a pair that not only felr as cool as they do but when looking down at them they are to me some of the most aesthetically pleasing. I've only.had mine for about 2 weeks and I think they are totally worth it. Especially if you get a black Friday season sale :) I will say living in Germany I got royally 'efft' when I had to pay their government import tax if 155.50 euros. That's on top of the 48 dollars I had to pay for shipping and handling. The import tax was calculated after the boots were processed in customs. Otherwise I would have waited to buy them or just stuck with my Thursday Diplomats. I m happy at least that the purchase price of the boots and the awesome jeans I also bought from Origin went to supporting true American made and sourced product and workers. God Bless the USA! She needs our love and support. Great review!
A year or so ago I decided to put my money where my mouth was and pony up for some origin coronados. They actually have factory seconds you can buy on their "factory outlet" for a fair bit cheaper than normal; I think I got mine for 200 or 250 at the time. All in all, I think they're fine. I got the mini lug so i don't notice the lack of a shank and the model I recieved actually has screws in the front of the sole near the toes. For being factory seconds I can't see much wrong with them at all. They're certainly not work boots meant to kicked around on an oil derrick or anything but I didn't buy them for that. I bought them to support US manufacturing and to buy something that would conform to my foot better than some of the ten-inches-of-leather boots people buy. I actually had a friend who bought iron rangers and always complains that they feel like wood under his feet even a few years on so I guess it all comes down to different strokes for different folks. They work for me as a casual to light use boot -- I'm sure their built boots are more serious -- and I've grown to like their looks. I'm sure the company has it's issues and the video was a bit more of an advertisement than I expected from this channel but the negative nancies in the comments section are disheartening. True to a fair extent but disheartening all the same, especially the political BS.
I've had a pair of origin safety toe for almost a year now. They're balls tough and comfortable AF. They haven't started to show any signs of hard wear. If they ever wear out I'm buying another.
Would love to see a review of the Thursday Vanguard (not the Logger) made in the USA along with a breakdown of how much USA sourced components they use.
I purchased the flat sole Coronado in brown......shipped to Canada with no issues.....used them for around 4 months now........the overall finish is still good.....scratch and scuff easy......but also easy to clean up quick......they are way more comfortable now than before break in..... definitely the most agile boot of all the top brand styles.....the profile looks better with more styles of clothing than any of the top brands also. So if they don't fall apart on me from a cheap failure in the wild.....seems like the best boot in the price range....worth the money 👍
In the name of art the back panel is cut to come to a point on the sidewall of the boot...I may be wrong but I would think that over a relatively short period of time it will get caught and come loose or get wrecked if doing anything but walking the grocery store or shoveling snow.
I love mine. When I got my first pair in and wore them for a week I went and ordered another pair in the slate color. The whiskey brown is their best color imo.
wow you are doing a full featured paid ADvertisement huh. sponsor is one thing. liking them is another. Doing what feels like a full Ad is off putting.
@@danc5677 People are naive and will take this as an honest product review. It's not. It's bought and paid. Even Rose Anvil is capable of selling you on something. He is not the second coming of leather boot Christ...
@@GOD999MODE never said he was the second coming of leather Christ whatever that means. You do realise you can have a sponsored video AND for it to be honest. @@danc5677 Don't know what you're arguing about, but just something to note so that people don't mistake it for a regular review. And no, it can't be fully honest since they're literally paying you to say good things about it.
The algorithm recommended your videos/channel to me. It's great stuff. I'm not a big boot wearer but love the way you break things down in all your videos. If you love USA made clothing, check out Duckworth, which is the ONLY 100% American merino wool company. From the sheep raised in Montana to the cutting, dyeing and finishing mills in the USA. I've got several of their stuff and it's amazing. I don't work for them, just a proud supporter. It's also not cheap..but it's priced the same or a very little more than what foreign made competitors charge.
I know you can't buy them now but my Danner Combat Hikers were Berry compliant and as far as i know that means they're pretty damn made in USA. They've been GREAT boots for me for like 15+ years. Only real downside is they're not resoleable and are about worn out now so idk what I'll get next. I'll never beat the deal I got on these... $50 from danner directly back in the day when they had back room online deals. I know the combat hikers got shit online but for me in the rocky woodland terrain I hike and camp they were ideal. Heavy, but ideal and obviously held up better than i ever thought.
We shouldn't be surprised RA would eventually start sliding like most YTers. Cutting boots in half is truly the saving grace because between this and the Huckberry moctoe boot video, the commentary really shows sponsors are starting to run the script. Would like to support a company like Origin but they're kind of shady and overpriced for what you get. Red Wing and the Thursday MITUSA line are much better value. White's also has affordable options that are much better than Origin's mid boots. Their QC is hit or miss with too much miss.
Does Vibram make outsoles in the USA? They have research, testing and "creative" facilities in the USA but don't seem to list manufacturing. And if I'm wrong and they do manufacture soles in Boston (they describe it as a design and "maker space"), I'm pretty sure that Vibram sell soles to many other USA boot manufacturers as otherwise the factory is not going to be commercially viable. Regarding the materials used, I'm pretty sure that Thursday with the Vanguard boot claim that they use all USA made materials including even sourcing the Poron foam from a USA manufacturer. Regardless, it seems to be a marketing gimmick to source every last component from the US in a globalised world and perhaps it would be more useful to the US economy to make sure that the manufacturing facilities use American made machines, the office furniture, air conditioning, electrical supply, flooring and so forth are American made rather than worrying about the thread, nails and glue production.
100% agree with you especially about the rubber sole in between the leather and the actual sole I bought this boots and didn’t last me six months because they delaminated they still got a lot more life if i fix them also the tongue shrunk and the laces bite into my ankles and I have to constantly stop to fix them other than that fairly good for the price
Would definitely consider these boots with the addition of a shank. I've checked out their products before when looking for USA made, and will keep them on my list
I own a pair of these and they are my first pair of work or boots in general so I can’t really attest to how “athletic “ they feel because compared to Jordan’s or Nike runners they feel like I can stomp one’s brains out with em! But I love them as a work boot they keep my feet dry when I have to waddle through a little mud or water. They were however light enough for me to do hikes when I visited Colorado.
Personally, made in usa means nothing to me. Its just a companys attempt to make more sales on a sub par product. Haven't tried Origin boots so i cant say they are good or not, but where the boot is made shouldn't be a focus when designing a boot
I got these in wedge sole 8.5 D. They're really comfy. Theres suspension in that heel design, at least when they're still new. I should have ordered a 9 but realized too late. Giving them to my dad
I completely changed my everyday wear from Filson and Duluth to origin. Everything they make is really great and comfortable. And still cheaper then most the stuff I wear
I have a pair of their Built boots. Kind of underwhelmed for a $400 pair of boots. The sole delaminated in about 3 weeks, the midsole squeaks against the leather, the laces aren’t long enough to use every eyelet, and they absolutely need another pair of lower speed hooks.
Have been wearing my Origin Boots for close to 3 years now. Finally getting to resole time. They are absolutely form fitted to my foot and more comfortable for daily wear than my Nick's... nicks still win the day for heavier outdoor work and motorcycle rides, but for all day office wear and standing work in shop, Origin.
When the time arrives for the resole, please post the quote below. I have a fellow cobbler in Chicago that charges $350 for that job. I quoted my last customer $300 and he (understandably) declined.
I'd like to see you cut the Red Wing Work Chukka in half and see how that compares to the Classic Moc and Iron Ranger. I know they have a Weekender version that's more like the Chelsea you did, but I think the Work Chukka is more traditional Red Wing.
weekender chukka is still maybe my favorite shoe after like 7 years and a resole, and it really feels like a shoe. great casual shoe, but don't like the crepe outsole
I've supported Origin with my wallet and I really like my Coronado boot for it's lighter more flexible feel made with a leather midsole unlike several much more expensive, non USA made boots. My only regret was choosing the mini lug sole as it limits the cushion under foot.
I have happily spent the extra money to buy their goods. I own several pairs of their GIs, their boots and jeans. Maybe it's mental, but the quality is superior to others. I also would love some speed hooks on the upper. The top 2 would be perfect, similar to the Jim Green African Rangers. Great video though, merry Christmas!
I bought a pair and definitely not a work boot for the trades. Their “work boot” fell apart in less than six months. Stitching, inside toe liner, laces are trash, maybe a work boot if you work at a nail salon. Very disappointed. You should do reviews after a few months because the review would make me think these things are worth the money
Needs more structure. Good concept but boots still need higher standards for structure. A resole of these would almost definitively include changing the midsole
i have 3 pairs of their jeans and 2 pairs of boots, the coronado and the lincoln 1865s. they are awesome, have had nothing but positive interactions with them, and their customer service department. i look forward to supporting them in the future as well.
I bought these boots because i love the “built in the USA” concept and I’m all about supporting USA made products. I love them and will buy many more products from Origin, including the Pearl Weave Gi I just bought.
Like other commenters I’m disappointed with this video. You’ve built your brand by being very candid and unbiased about the build quality of various boots/shoes. The second you’re paid by a company to make a video “reviewing” their product your credibility disappears (regardless of how much you like the product/company). I hope you avoid these types of sponsorships in the future and focus more on building out your own brand/company. I bought one of your wallets a while back and really like it; I’d be much happier buying more things made by RA than some affiliate boot/shoe where your judgment is likely to be compromised.
I wish they'd do a slip sole and I wish they'd replace the foam with actual leather. The removable insole is nice but I wish it just had leather under it for durability
Everything that exists has what's called a HS (or HTS) code. This is a 10-digit code used by customs (all over the world) to identify objects. The first 2 numbers determines the 'chapter' the item belongs to so, for instance, Chapter 64 refers to footwear. This is a different code than leather which you'd find under Chapter 41. Origin determination rules can be complex but generally speaking if something is imported under one Chapter and transformed into something that belongs to a different Chapter, like leather under 41 that becomes footwear under 64, then something was obviously 'made' and you can call it Made/Assembled in wherever that is.
I love the idea of the Origin boots, but the lack of shank and lower arch profile had me go elsewhere. I am waiting for those changes or additions one day.
Recently found OREE NYC boots online, they claim they have Italian calfskin and Goodyear construction with Vibram Outsole for 400 dollars. Would be very interesting to see what the look inside for that high price tag
You have to be one of those kids who has timberlands to own these. Bottom of the barrel construction methods and materials. A sucker is born every minute i guess.
Hell yeah it's worth buying made in the USA. I live in the PNW and I have a pair of Nick's I use for hunting and deep snow. I was born and live in the USA. My money will always go to US workers because they are working to support their families as I am mine. Everything of late seems to try to divide us, but it's BS. If it has the made in the USA label, I'm in.
I have a pair of their bison boots, great quality and strongly support all boot and clothing manufacturers that are made in our country. Love your channel!!
love your vids and somehow cannot stop watching them... 😉 but cannot stop me from asking if you already heard of wilcox boots? i got a pair of Fairfax off of their kickstarter campaign back in 2015 and still love them, qlthough changing the insole somewhen and having to resole them, but I think they are really comfortable and quite bargain... would love seeing a video about them from you 😉
I have their work jeans, tee’s, and sweat shirts. I basically live in their work jeans. Their tops are great too. I waited until Black Friday to order their 8inch work boot. I have not received them yet. So the jury is still out. Can’t wait to work in them.
Have you ever looked at Berry Amendment Compliant Boots? Berry Compliant means That not only do they HAVE to be made in USA, BUT all materials 100% SOURCED in the USA just like Origin does. Difference being that Berry Compliant is Strictly military gear and approved by the Department Of Defense. Would 100% take a look at Berry Complaint Boots. For they can back that claim as well
Berry compliant means little to anyone who has worn the issued boots the military gives you. Yes they are MIUSA but they could do a lot better at making comfortable boots. I will say though my flight deck boots from Belleville were pretty decent.
Just bought a pair Black Friday along with a pair of their jeans. Only work the boots twice but they were comfortable out of the box. They are the bison black wedge soles. The jeans fit great and are super comfortable. I was apprehensive about the stretch, until I wore them and they are amazingly comfortable and look great. Now to see how they both hold up. I only tried them because they are made in America. If we all chip in and buy these type of products with this ethics they will fall in price eventually.
Would love it if you went through some of the motorcycle specific boots that are out now that look like red wings etc. brands like John Doe, Rokka, Merlin, Belstaff etc.
I was just watching this second review of Origin boots thinking, "I'm going to buy a pair!" And then I started reading these comments. One after another, after another of poor experiences and poor quality. It is really, really unfortunate, I hope they get their act together. They got a really cool product, but it sounds like they're having problems with execution. Fingers crossed, I'll check back in a year.
Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t the “work boot” version fix a couple of the issues you have ? I was looking at them awhile back and couldn’t find any reviews on that specific model to see if it’s worth the price
I don't know about Origin boots but their clothing is great. The jeans are amazing I had Joe's Jeans before and the Origins feels better constructed but just as comfortable.
After watching your first video about Origin. I bought the pair in this video for work! I need a compost toe boot that was non slip that was quality. The rest of the top American boots packed steel toe.
Can you please review Hoffman's Double Insulated package boots and/or Hoffman's Voyager pack boots? I think they are the best pac boots I ever had. Made in Kellogg, Idaho.
Hey man, There are only two brands that I've been wearing recently and would love your opinion. Onitsuka tiger and Krahu.. I have a few pairs from each company and the tiger's GSM is the best sneaker I've ever worn. I have abused that shoe and I can't find a single thing wrong with my pair. I really want to know if I'm not crazy and if not, then people deserve to know. I'm so sick of the same hype brands.
Great video. I strongly disagree with your speed hooks preference. I had a pair of speed hooks lock together and send me into a fall that cracked a cheekbone. A fluke accident yes, but I will never have a pair of boots with the potentially hazardous speed hooks again.
When it comes boots I’m pretty much a Hiax guy, but I did buy a couple Origin hoodies because they were American made. Kinda hard to screw up a hoodie, and they are very nice. The heavy hoodie is very well made and warm. But this is a boot channel so after reading the reviews I’ll learn from others and keep my money until the reviews improve

He literally said they sponsored the video.
What did you think that meant?
Yeah he said the boots were provided by them, that they sponsored the video and that he's very biased towards companies like this that try and source all materials from the US, like come on.

How should he pay for his videos then?

I think in 2-3 years after honing the boot they will have an absolute banger. I have Origin jeans and theyre incredible.
Chippewa lost my buisness when they stopped making boots in the USA. Loved their super logger boots.

I thought only the Chinese made low quality items. 🤔
@@CarrotConsumerLol. Very true. It’s a common phrase you see, but anyone has the ability to make a bad product!
@@CarrotConsumer There are loads of high quality goods coming out of China, just as many as anywhere else. I wanted to like Origin. Bought a pair. Stitch failed after 1 month. Contacted the company and it took the more than a month to even get back to me. I had them repaired locally because I got tired of waiting. A year later the footbed is totally collapsed. They’re unwearable. Do. Not. Buy.
😬
wow, that blows.
Which boots do you recommend for everyday use?
As much as I love buying Made in USA, I just can't get behind these.
To start, I think they are really ugly.
More importantly though, these are nearly completely synthetic. I just don't see the upside. There are so many options from other companies that have a high "Made in USA" percentage of components.
Thursday has a made in USA collection for far less money than these, or anything from White's, Nick's, or JK. You also have brands like Truman Boot Co. And Oak Street Bootmakers.
There's too much competition to justify the $330 price with nearly all synthetic materials.
All I see on the inside are manmade materials, no gusto... You´d grill any other company doing so, why give Origin a pass???
He is never critical in a sponsored video. Thwy pay him to say certain things
@@12345....... They are ALL sponsored.
It is 100% worth buying a made in the USA boot. Especially when comparing it to some cheaply made chinese boot.
This is a sponsored video.

Is the toe box actually big even with the safety toe?
@@andrewsalazar98 I didn’t get safety toe. The toe box has plenty of room for me.
There are spinners, weavers (or knitters) in the united states. 3$ shorts aren't made with US fabrics though.
This feels more like a 12 minute ad
Especially if you get a black Friday season sale :)
I will say living in Germany I got royally 'efft' when I had to pay their government import tax if 155.50 euros.
What Brazilian jujitsu got to do with the boots. 😮
you can kick butt either in a gi or in a pair of boots
Nothing, but Rogan and his fans really, really, really like putting on underpants and knee pads and trying to dominate other men.

Interesting. I definitely like the concept & direction. Yeah, speed hooks / shank (I climb ladders occasionally) & I'd buy a pair to try.
Companies like this are the only thing keeping our dollar from tanking. They do have a model with a fiberglass shank.
I had the same issue
Would definitely consider these boots with the addition of a shank. I've checked out their products before when looking for USA made, and will keep them on my list
They make the best pair of jeans America has to offer.
Well you ain't a patriotic American then.
I got these in wedge sole 8.5 D. They're really comfy. Theres suspension in that heel design, at least when they're still new. I should have ordered a 9 but realized too late. Giving them to my dad
It would be awesome to see their craftsmanship with your knowledge to come together and make a really amazing boot.
No shank no buy. For the price pay a bit more and get nicks, whites, or jk.
i’m certain the built boots have the shank
I have a pair of Origin Boots and they are amazing. Hands down most comfortable work boot I have. They take a beating. I’m sold for life on these.
My coronado’s are the most athletic feeling boot I’ve ever had in 20+ years of working outside. I love them!
Please review high quality boots made in the UK or Europe.
I love mine, broke in quick too 🍻 Happy Holidays y’all
Have been wearing my Origin Boots for close to 3 years now.
Howd you compare these to Nicks?
Keep up the great work comparing all these boots!
How can you review a product who’s sponsoring the video. That’s no longer a review
Exactly why he did not say anything about Origin approving the video before it was published.
I literally have stopped shopping for jeans since I got the origin jeans. They're amazing.
Have you done a review of the Timberland Boondock? I've looked but haven't found so thought I'd ask.
I hate speed hooks. There is a reason the armed forces went to a speed lace system. Which is far superior to any other system in my opinion.
That thing is lacking a lot of leather for 300+ dollars.

Shape of these boots is very good. I think few improvements would make these boots modern classic!
Is this the second or third time you've used Joe Rogan as a clickbait thumbnail?
I like how it's really obvious which season it is based on your outfits, since apparently your studio has no heating:-)
I have their work jeans, tee’s, and sweat shirts. I basically live in their work jeans. Their tops are great too. I waited until Black Friday to order their 8inch work boot. I have not received them yet. So the jury is still out. Can’t wait to work in them.
I wear logging style boots(Vibergs) but I have the speed hooks replaced with eyelets. Speed is ok but I’ve had them come open when wet.
Berry Compliant Boots are basically sneakers. They need to be light and soft, they're not made to last that much.
Origin is not 100% sourced from the us
Just bought a pair Black Friday along with a pair of their jeans.
If they would add a shank to the soft toe version I bet it would make one hell of a hiker/backpacking boot
It wouldn't trust me
Would love it if you went through some of the motorcycle specific boots that are out now that look like red wings etc. brands like John Doe, Rokka, Merlin, Belstaff etc.
Ive had a pair of the bison boots for a couple years and love them. maybe things have changed since i bought mine.
Please cut in half the new Jim Green Numzaan boot. I would love to hear your take on the leather, construction, and value.
I'd rather spend a few more bucks and get a pair of Trumans.
I would love to see you take a look at the new popcush insoles vans is using and compare them to older vans.
Iam in ireland. Wear haix great boots
