Thank you sir' for the beautiful video on Darjeeling 's football history.
I remember as a small kid watching our football heroes in Kalimpong's Mela ground and that's when my love for football started. I was inspired by our local heroes from Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Kurseong, and also from Sikkim, Bhutan and Nepal.
This video has been well documented but it would be great if you could add players from Kalimpong, Kurseong, Sikkim as well because we cannot overlook the contribution of some of the great football players who entertained the crowds in Kalimpong and Darjeeling.
Players like Urgen Lama( Mini daju), Late. Mr Prem Dorjee( Neelu), Jerry Basi from Gangtok, Suren Lama from Darjeeling, Kharey Basnet and Ran Bhadur Basnet (Raaney)from Bhutan, Mahendra Subba (TKKS) from Darjeeling, Mumtaz Ahmed, Raju Rai, Subash Gupta (Pitalay), Dhendup Bhutia from Kalimpong to name a few.
Dinkar Chettri and Urgen Tamang along with late. Mr Ladup. from Kurseong cannot be missed.
I watched Mini daju"s game post his retirement from Bhutan team.
Late . Prem Dorjee retied from Mohammadan Sporting Club and became coach cum player for a relatively small club of Kolkata called Jugasanthi . Jerry Basi used to enthrall the crowd at Mela Ground with his Snow Lion team from Gangtok. Suren Lama scored one of the best goal of his career , a fifty metre free kick while playing for State Bank of India, Darjeeling at Mela Ground, Kalimpong. Mahendra Subba captained his team TKKS and led the team with discipline.
Ajay, Uday, Pawan, Pratap, Lakpa Sherpa, Darshan Daju, Bala cannot be missed out as well.
Beautiful memories which captivates me to this day.
I don't watch local football nowadays because the standard has gone down over the period of years. All I see is local teams bringing third grade African students and making the tournament a laughing stock.
At least I was fortunate to see these great players in action.
I would like to thank these great players for the sweet memories.

Gorkha Stadium ko history ma tyaha bhaeko sabai bhanda first game B Division Leauge ko Market XI vs DNYS (Dhirdham Nawa Yuwak Sangh) majha kheliyeko thiyo. Tyehi saal Market XI le B Division Leauge pani jiteko thiyo jun final NP Ground ma bhayeko thiyo.

@@Mountainview79 there is one ex minister in Bhutan. His name is Khandu Wangchuk. He was the football captain at one time. I think it was school then, not a college.
