literally no way Kyle made that cut at 45 degrees without rogers permission
😂
Haha
Who do you think did the cut
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao, I was curious what this comment was about 😂
I've been a builder for many years and have seen quite a fair bit of sheds. The plans in ryan's package ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxB7IXYxLzb_Ichhe45zM3Im5xfEiSp9vB have some of the nicest looking sheds i've seen in a while.
Driving a 4' stake in the ground without hitting anything would be a miracle
Can you imagine Roger getting pissed at Kyle?...
"Put a mahk on dat mudda fahka!"
Love how Kyle promptly snatches the level line up over his head, as he’s saying he wants to use it to check plumb.......😂😂
Far foot rebaa and 8 foot temba. Looks great
Roger: "How are you up there?"
Kyle: "I'm a little high!"
The video says timber but I think we all know it's Tembah
LoL you had me in the floor with that one, thanks to roger my wife no longer says container.. it’s containa now (watch the ATOH bonsi trees video)
🤣😂🤣😂
I really wanted him to say "This wall is gonna be WICKED AWESOME!"
😄👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩🤣
The usage of the anchors was a great idea. I've never seen that done before.
Came here for the retaining wall, stayed for Pamela. :)
Chaquetero
Ya thirsty, Bevis?
:)...Love seeing Roger looking healthy and strong...Little trick from a tradesman of 30 years...Rent borrow, or steal..:)... one of those small demolition hammers to drive those rebars down nicely... They're great for Grounding rods too!
You sir are good! Very clean, and detailed worker. You explain things in a very clear way without overly talking. I've been weed whacking and mowing multiple years for landscaping company but this year I'm going to start on the actual landscaping side of things. I'm going to start watching your videos for sure!
Outstanding video, so much info squeezed into only 5 minutes! Thanks.
One thing I would do, perhaps I missed it. I would drill and drive half inch rebar at the tee of the dead man into the undisturbed soil. The dead man will be secured into the soil and will not drift. This is especially important in clay soils as clay soils can build up tremendous water pressure.
They drove 2 4' pieces of rebar into the deadman
Roger, Thanks a lot for a great clear video and instructions!! ! All the best!!!
Always glad to see someone who knows what they are talking about and actually doing the work
If you’re driving 1/2” rebar 4’ into the ground you should get a locate done before doing so. Hydro ranges around 30-60” in-ground, gas is usually just above hydro.
nope, just send it
@@ThaGreatestAlexander nope, if I had “just sent” 4 of 8 ground screws on my last project I would’ve hit gas, hydro and coax. Good luck out there.
Not likely to have buried utilities there. This was in the backyard - that backed up to woods. Check the background at 0:26.
Really? In the back 40? No way
Much more work than I anticipated
Great job Roger!!!
So many lessons in a single video. Thanks a lot. Suscribed
Great video Thankyou. Very clear and concise narration.
Wow!!! If you build it like that, it'll definitely last 40 years.
You can tell these guys are pros!
Good job. Planning on building a timber wall soon, good ideas. Thanks
First time I have ever seen hypotnuse used in actual calculation ,this wall is profesional grade.
Excellent video, very well done!
Your so smart Roger!
Great work compacting that base Pam!
So much to learn for those of us that are not full time professionals in the construction world. Thank you for the helpful video
Roger is THE MAN!!! 🤠👍
I'd listen to this just for the accents! Hahaha great skill and video
He put a maak? A hypotinoose! I love it.
kyle had got his hands full
Roger is the man.
love these videos
Wonderful information. I feel up to the task after watching
Oh My . I ❤ the work 👌🙏👍👏✟
Just what i was looking for thanks
super informative video. thanks!!!
like the french drain touch. i never would have thought of that.
Pretty standard. Any wall builder not incorporating drainage is a hack.
@@bendavis9524 i like how it drains right into the yard and house. roger's projects never seemed that clever to me
@@timregan1005 The water was already running that direction so I don't really know what your point is.
Roger : "I'm good.. how are you up there?" Home Owner : "I'm a little high !"
Work done right.
Nice job Roger A plus
good work..thanks for sharing
I built something like this as some landscaped parking spots, it was rather nice for what was kind of a dumpy heat treat factory.
40 years - that guy's hilarious!
My experience is that the carpenter ants start to work their way in at about 10 years. I just had my wall sprayed by an exterminator. I haven't seen a little bugger yet. Haha.
With proper drainage and gravel. Yes. But with modern pressure treated? Who knows.
3:20 - lmao "Well that's great, that's the LAAASSST piece on the second cauhhs".
I knew I'd see Roger burying a dead man someday
This comment deserves more likes.
job well done
Love it.....nice...
great video. plan to do the same thing with free utility poles from york energy
awesome
Love dem tembahs
Wikkedd Awesome!!!
Great video - I learned a lot, thanks!
Timber Retaining Walls are fun to build.
Yea im deff getting my 6x8 from amazon
Great video I'm following it to build my retaining wall... What type of wood preservatives are you using ??
Kyle has done well, ...very well.
EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
SHOW THE FINISHED PRODUCT!
+pitbylllson try looking in the description. its the second link after the subscription link
+pitbylllson I guess it didn't last 40 years. :(
"Video Unavailable" D':
@@liskaerik I must be blind, would like to see final product, cannot find the link you mention and scanned all the videos and no sign of it?
Regards from Wales UK.
Shows it at the end. Try watching the video.
TIMMMMBBBAAA
haha i thought it was temba
Tied in with rebaw.
Nice.
His voice is therapeutic
good easy video to follow thank you!
great base for a big shed and tear down that other one.. ..build the walls right on the wall
Killer video
Pamelama Ding Ding!
3-4-5 method aka Pythagorean Theorem LOL
Tenbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!
My favorite part is getting the first coarse plum and level and then slamming rebar through the timber and throwing them off 🙀
what episode or series is this from... would love to see the whole thing
It would be helpful if TOH also provided a materials list that you can get at one of the big box stores like Lowes or HD.
oh he's a Bills fan!
I need to get some timbuh today
Would this work for Garage foundation retaining wall?
niiice...
Now im gonna meshahh the high potnoose right theahh !
And I hope the kids appreciate all the work that went into the play area. But more than likely they won't, at least not right away.
Charles Damery If the kids don't appreciate it, it'll make a dandy parking space.
Maxid1 Or add some privacy fencing and use it for nude sunbathing.
Don't worry; When they're parents they will.
Healthy gal
Does anyone know what product is being used for the wood preservative in this video? I checked my local home improvement store but couldn't find anything labelled as such. I am rebuilding a timber retaining wall that has probably lasted for 20 years or so, perhaps longer. The house is 38 years old but I have only owned it for 14 years. As I remove the old timbers, the ends are completely rotted, so I can see the value of doing the preservative step on the ends which are cut.
Hello your video have been really helpful in many ways
I am having a bit of trouble i have a land but it wasnt level with the road so I had to add alot of soil to get my land level with the road but if I wanted to make my land level with the road I need to build a wall around the rest of the land so my land stayed straight
So I build a brick wall all around the premeter of the land to keep the soil in side. It was fine for about 7 -8 months but as winter came and it started to rain alot the wall fell apart and I have got a full wall down and a big ditch from the middle to the end of my land as the soil had drained out from where the brick wall had fallen
I know it sound complicated as I haven't got imaged to provide of the wall ATM but if u require them please let me know
So what in was going to ask u was what could I do so my land stays level with the road and the bricks dont keep falling as I have already spent alot of money trying to fix the wall a number of time and I would like some advice befor I start spending more money on fixing the wall
If u need me to send u images please me no or contact me of my email please would help me alot
The part that do off camera is cutting that 4 ft rebar off after they hit a rock that's only 2 ft down. After all, it's New England and we have LOTS of rocks!
What’s crazy is, as a contractor, I know that this little project cost a couple thousand just in material and labor...
I would do this for $400 with some hired goons.
@@DctorSkillz1 🤣🤣
¿Hired goons?
@@humansteaks The telephone is so impersonal. I prefer the hands on touch you only get with hired goons.
@@DctorSkillz1 Lol
What is a tenbah ?
+TVMii also, what's a woll?
and what is a hypotternoose 0:40 LOL Accents are funny but the video and the wall are fantastic !
that's massatwoshits
yeah use the sawerl to cut it
I dont know whats a hoff inch rebaaah ?
good work guys
At fasht tahgeting was hahd in Pahfact Dahk but then my aim got wicked shahp
5:12 build a very nice looking retaining wall right next to the piece of shit, barely standing, shed. Brilliant!
HAhahah!
I wonder, how many times did you stuck upon rocks and stones in the soil underneath when getting the rebars in the ground?
75% Keep an angle grinder at ready.
Interesting that the timber is incised allowing for a more effective treatment process.
This would go a lot faster than block, but would it be cheaper or more costly ?
I like this video, because I'm not the one doing the hard work.
GO BILLS!!!
Hey bills, go and punch the Chiefs ticket to the AFC championship game every year.
Love the Bills hat.
1:42 when my mom asked me why my eyes are red.
my man almost took his thumb off at 5:10 lol
He pretty much built a huge horseshoe pit
When you drill holes, you’re exposing the untreated lumber. Just a thought-wouldn’t hurt you take a minute and treat holes just like you did with the cuts .
Great video-thanks!
Hey. Great video. I'm putting down a gravel foundation using 6x6. I like the way the 6x6 PT looks. What size rebar did you use and what size holes should I Pre drill?
#8 .5 inch
FYI, #8 is 1” diameter. #4 is 1/2” diameter. The numbers represent eights of an inch.
1:40 My exact answer to that question everytime 🙄
Pipe is with holes down or up?
For anyone enjoying the New England accent, Roger is missing one crucial part: excessive profanity
If this was on HBO instead of PBS we'd get that real AUTHENTIC new england experience
tedskins2000 Haha lots of swearing on the job site and Thursday night golf league
Grab me a beeah and butt...fack it come back timorra...let go play some dahhhts
