    I’m living in the Palm Springs area and yes, it’s beautiful, particularly the casinos. Groovy and neato.

    I had a wonderful time visiting PS -- rented a bicycle and pedaled around everywhere for a week. It felt very safe, people were friendly, and the weather was fantastic! Loved this video!

    I was very lucky in 1972 to work at the Canyon Hotel with a close friend as we operated the parking lot for guests and celebrities. Really sad that later on the Hotel was torn down. That was another part of history that disappeared

      Thanks for sharing! I would have liked to dive into more about the hotels. The history of the hotels resorts and clubs is really interesting.

    You can do the socal challenge go take tram to snow then Joshua tree desert then drive to beach all in one day

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  12 днів тому

      That sounds like a great adventure. Watch the sunrise (if possible) from the mountain then hike in Joshua Tree and watch the Sunset at the Beach.

    Excellent in many ways.
    There are a few points worth mentioning:
    The Wexler home captioned Leonardo DiCaprio, while accurate, misses the fact that it was originally Dinah Shore's home.
    The use of Coachella as a name for the valley happened as a result of a misspelling of the name Conchilla which referred to the shells found on the formerly submerged desert floor.
    The epicenter of LGBTQ life in the valley was, until recently, Cathedral City, Palm Springs' neighbor to the East, and a higher per capita LGBTQ population is one city further east, Rancho Mirage.

      As a gay man in Cathedral City, I had no idea about that Rancho Mirage trivia! Good to know.

    In the early 1980s, the Democrats had a stranglehold on the entire Coachella Valley. You could not plant anything but particular vegetation on your property. That's what caused Sonny Bono to run for mayor. The city had an issue over a Palm Tree on Sonny's property. That was it! He ran for mayor, which paved the way for the entire Valley's transformation. Mayor Bono basically did then what President Trump is doing now. *Cut the crap!* (LOL AND I am Liberal/Progressive.)

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  2 дні тому
