Cute couple. Next project put the gimbal on the chicken and let it chase the pilot

Search for "chicken: now with gyroscopic stabilization" to find a video on the @ChickenLovers channel that provides an excellent demonstration of the built in stablisation of chicken heads. 🙂
This suggests mounting a non stabilised lightweight camera to the chicken's head, facing backwards, would just about be all that is needed.
Or perhaps a larger drone, with a chicken mounted on top (flapping may assist with the weight) and the camera on the chicken head. Use this to chase the camera operator from this video who will be carrying the chicken feed to keep the chicken head orientated in the correct direction? This should also provide better performance compared to the HEQ UAV Port Gimbal in terms of how far it can swivel from side to side.

Dji googles 3 wonder if he can make them work together
@@YOKokob the goggles 2 and integra also have head training but not really accessable for non dji drones. But a generic head training module would be cool.

motionsic rc makes a gimbal with head tracking for goggles 2
Need to look into it, head tracking would remove the need for a camera operator, as I could fly and move my head at the same time

Edit: I think the y axis was inverted on her controller, you mentioned it whiles setting up the gimbal. also I might think the mode, where the gimbal snaps back to the middle, could be useful after all, especially with more "unexperienced" camera operators.

I checked the axis and all were correct, it's just that she is not used to using a stick and she would push it upwards when panning (my radios have very loose sticks in her defense, and I didn't think about tightening them)
She used the reset a few times, it was the first flight so she was not yet confident, yet there are a couple good tracks 🐔🐔

It almost looks like a normal flight and then you see that the "normal" fpv feed has much more movement. So great stabilization. Awesome take at 11:05!!
Yes the stabilization really works, feels like a Mavic, shame for a bit of distortion on o3, will try removing in post next time, and also will wait on o4

I am really Holding my breath for a O4 Version. That would be so awesome. Also you should ad a forward pointing Version of this! That way this would eliminate the props in view on FPV quads. Tranks for all your work.
A O4 Version might Even Rival the the DJI pocket3 in some senarios e.g. Mounted on a car oder motorvycle Helmet an operated remotely for awsome cinematic Action shots involving pan and tilt movements.
@@FlyingBeeFPV hold your breath? ) 04's just hit market and they haven't even begun selling stand alone 04 air units yet, plus the upgrades aren't worth it, a straight money grab by dji.. And I'm a dji fanboy... 03 is king, I don't think 04 air unit sales will come anywhere close to the 03 air unit which are still flying off the shelves today. The only positive outlook is that hopefully the 04 air unit release will lower the 03 price so most of us can finish updating our fleets. I still have 4 vista quads in my fleet that I need to update, waiting for price drop.

one part seems like the angle change speed is too fast, I hope Hequav can do slower angle change. But since fpv change very fast is gesture, a real requirement is a auto focus, auto capture gimbal like DJI pocket 3 auto track, o3 still does it job and another dji pocket 3 (I remeber you build before) to 360 auto track the object
for example, current setup, when fpv change position with the obejct, the Hequav is still in original position and there is a delay we need to swich the angle.
But very fun idea, I hope it would be fully auto like dji pocket 3.

Movement can be adjusted on the rc, by modifying the stick curve, but yeah needs some more customization in software for sure!
There is no way to do tracking as the gimbal is blind to what the camera sees

This reminds me of the OG DJI zenmuse on the phantom2. I think this would be awesome to control tilt for some shots
if you set the gimbal to move with the head traker and use it in angle mode it can became a very intresting FPV way to pilot a drone, probably also intresting to use with INAV where you can position lock and look around
independent, user adjustable smoothing on the pan-tilt inputs would be great.
This is genius, homemade DJI INSPIRE but for a dozen thousands £ less 😂 well done!!!

Great job, you inspired me to try this gimbal. I am wondering if you get gyro data from O3 in this setup (for gyroflow stabilization)? On my setup I dont get gyro data, and if I turn on rocksteady, video from O3 in just black.

Could mounting the main FPV camera on this gimbal in FPV mode on a standard quad be a solution to issues with vibration and jello?
Well it adds quite a bit of weight, so yes it would but movements are delayed, best to add soft mounts to camera directly
