I got my airboat last summer, it was included with the field kit I bought. Sadly the chrome coating in the cylinder on the OS engine has come off. That engine originally was on a Hobbico trainer. I am in the process of Bidding on a replacement engine on EBay. The body on my airboat is wood construction, very well made, I dont know if it was a kit or what. It is painted the same color blue. I am thinking about fiberglassing the bottom of the boat. I doubt the boat is made of waterproof wood and sadly a few drops of old fuel bubbled a spot on the top. I could sand, feather, reprime and enamal paint it. I is a really nice airboat. I want to run it on snow too. lol.
Did you apply the formica directly to your frame? Is it durable enough to take a beating on the water?
