Today we are going to be doing a fishing challenge where I test the Drop Shot vs. the Texas Rig Worm in the same situations to find out which one is better! I love using these two bass fishing lures, specially around deep water like we are fishing around today! How are you moving your dropshot? I know that say dont twitch it like crazy so i just feel the tension in the line and twitch a bit then stop, if nothing then i lift and try again but dont get much luck so far with it
Love both rigs but if I can't catch anything on the dropshot(last resort) then its time to go home haha. Each have their time and place both are essential techniques for any fisherman. Great video!
In all honesty, as I have traveled around the country and fished many different places, the drop shot has become higher on the list every year. Definitely not a last resort anymore!

I don’t know if you have been told this before but the audio on your videos is amazing. Especially when out on the water I can hear clearly even when listening in a loud environment with no headphones.

For you 100 pond series can you fish the pond at Dan Nickolas park NC? I work there during the summer at the paddle boats and everyone that fishes it struggles to catch fish there but I’m not sure why because the pond gets stocked with fish about once a year. I bass fished it today and couldn’t get a bite and a was throwing a small white spinner bait

It’s getting frustrating not catching anything except a sunburn. lol. I spent 6 hours on the lake today in Rowlett trying different lures and practicing the techniques you show and nothing for me. At least I’m saving lures by following your weedless techniques!

With the dropshot, you just got to assess the situation, I mean when I go topwater, and nothing, and then also nothing ont he swimbait, I would switch to the dropshot, just wiggling it next to a grass pilling, or next to a boat, just wiggle it, and I have even seen while I am reeling in the dropshot a bass would skid out of under a rock and grab it ! Amazing lure and technique, just have to assess the situation, especially when you feel this is it this is going to work !

I've only ever caught dinks and pounders on a texas rig, but I caught my PB on a dropshot with 6 lb line

Texas rig, spinner baits, buzz baits are a thing of the past. Finesse is the new age of bass fishing. Drop shot for smaller baits in the first water column, ned rig for crawling the bottom and 3" swim baits for slow retrieval.

I only use T-rigs in 5' or less. In lay downs, brush, rocks ect... deeper water T-rigs never work for me. I like using lizards or any creature bait in shallower water. If you're fishing deeper brush or trees, you always wanna suspend your baits. Just my personal opinion. Love

I think that would be a generally wise idea. But I can also think of a few situations in which that would be wrong.

Drop shot is not the same on the shore fishing it on the ground I just use Texas rig or Carolina rig.

I realize you are PRIMARILY a bass fishing channel, but I'm personally not as much into bass fishing as much as I used to be, mainly because bass are literally anywhere and everywhere. Would love to see you or others target something other than bass all the time. Anyone can catch them. They're EVERYWHERE!! You mean to tell me that all your sponsors are for bass fishing only?? Kind of boring, after a while, when all you do is see people fishing for bass all the time. Why not walleye, why not crappie, why not just about anything, catfish even? Just kind of tired of seeing bass fishing constantly, and quite frankly, although I want to get a UA-cam channel going myself eventually, I hear from everyone that to make it on UA-cam in fishing videos is a real long shot because of everything that has come out recently within the last few years. Another UA-camr talked about getting UA-cam's channels together for people and said that pretty much you're going to have to probably make about three times as many videos as they did in the beginning, in order to get any kind of channel going and getting it monetized. I really wish they had some channels out there that were just geared to other fish in general, either that or the variety. But you just keep doing what you're doing if it's working for you. It's just that everyone always asks what we want to see, and quite frankly, that's what I would like to see. I guess I got to go research and get some other channels that are more towards that. I agree, I don't discriminate though. I fish for all species, nor just bass. I don't understand how anyone can stick to just one or two species. But that's just me. I was so excited this week, I caught a 15 pound grass carp and I was freaking out. I still love this channel though, it really got me into it. And it can work on other species too.
That is the problem with all of these "sponsors". Once they go down that route, they are beholden to whatever the sponsor "allows" them to do. It's too bad. Luckily there are plenty of channels out there with independent anglers that will listen to your comments and fish for other species. They are out there, you just gotta find em.
