Hi, thank you for your comments. Think it sounds like one of those jobs that will be too difficult, but the reality of course is very different. Safe miles my friend Paul
Thanks for a good video. I just used your instruction to reseal the slave cylinder on my 1985 Vmax. The original seals went 135,000 miles before they started to leak, I figure the new ones oughta do as well...

Brilliant video, managed to change mine after watching this , thanks for doing it 👍🏼 it works brilliant now, but it doesn’t push in and out like your new one did, no idea why?
Thanks Phil, no thoughts as to why. Don't overthink it, if it works, it works :-) Clocked up just over 18'000 miles since doing mine, hope yours is the same
Hi Ron, thank you for your comments. Sorry no video on valve clearances, I have done the valve clearances on the xjr at 26000 miles, really did not need doing and was quite simple. Cheers Paul
great video could you tell me where the small rubber washer like thing goes , looks like it should go on the metal shaft but mine dosent have one and got one in the rebuild kit

@@paulbell9025 hi again , i have changed it all and bled the system but now when i try and put her in gear she jumps fwd and stalls ( as if i have no clutch at all ) i took it off again and checked everything and its all ok , reassembled and again bled the system but it s still doing the same , any help would be great fully appreciated
Hi, can't quite remember the supplier but it was the brand (Tourmax) on this ebay page. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Premium-Quality-Clutch-Slave-Cylinder-Rep-Kit-Yamaha-XJR-1300-2008/282441376709?hash=item41c2d163c5:g:ArcAAOSwJ4hY-fZh Not a big difference in cost from the economy kits and so far no problems and as you saw evything fitted :-) Happy fettling Paul
I changed the seal kit, filled the reservoir, loosened the bleed nipple and pumped, but not much happened. The bike has been stood for a while, and during that time all of the fluid has leaked out so there must be pretty much nothing but air in there I presume. Do you think that's the reason nowts happening by pumping the lever? I'm thinking I might need to get a vacuum bleed kit to suck some through from the bottom?
I think so, can be so full of air it seems to take forever. Could also try taping the clutch lever back to the handlebars, top up reservoir and leave overnight, then try bleeding. I often do this with brakes even when bled, belt and braces really but often results in a better feel at the lever.

Hi Mike, Mmmmm tricky one, if you are 100 percent sure it is bled and operation correctly, it can only be something with the mechanical parts of the clutch (obviously). Plates stuck together, bent clutch rod (any chance the BB at the clutch rod could have fallen out). Will the system 'pump' up and move the cylinder to the push rod>
@@paulbell9025 thanks for the reply , i took of the clutch cover to see if the plates were moving and i noticed that a washer on one of the spring nuts was not central undone it and placed washer in the middle and wey hey put back together and it all worked and now i can get back in to neautral when i pull up cheers for your help
Hi Jake, it's not actually part of the cylinder assembly as such. It's the clutch push rod seal. Let me know how you get on, if you get a problem I will see if I have diagram.

Hi could you please tell me where that little circle rubber left on your table after you had fitted the new seal ?
Hi Dave, the unused rubber gasket is the clutch push rod seal. If you watch episode 1 you should get an idea of where it fits.
Thanks, Paul
