What I've learned- you gotta take care of your insides before putting in mass effort on your outsides. Meaning- if you don't truly love or accept yourself, no amount of makeup and cute clothes will fix how you view yourself physically. Once you love yourself radically, the energy will radiate and legitimately make you more attractive even if you don't meet societies standards of attractiveness. You also have to treat yourself right. Do some kind of workout or physical activity. Eat right. Get enough sleep. Take your vitamins. Keep up with your hygiene. Prioritize your mental health- all that plays an extremely important role in your glow up journey. THEN after that, you can really invest in your outside appearance like nails, lashes, makeup, fashion, etc.

I'm a college student with a small wardrobe. 5 basic tops, usually scoop neck, sweetheart neck or boat neck since those flatter me the most, 3 "dressy" tops for special occasions, 1 pair of bootcut jeans, 1 pair of straight-fit jeans, 1 denim mini skirt, 2 pairs of tailored trousers (black and brown), 2 formal shirts and 1 pair of denim shorts. I have a couple of hoodies and thermals but those are more for layering since I live in a cold, rainy country. Sounds like a lot but for laundry once every two weeks, this is about the perfect amount for a college student, given dorm storage as well. All my pieces go together for any combination of outfit and I own a good amount of jewellery and I can do up an outfit or turn it down with these accessories. I have a pair of good, leather shoes in a neutral brown that once again, goes with everything and a pair of sneakers. Does the job fantastically and I always steam/iron them to make it look fresh and pair it with a fun fragrance and hair style. If I have a specific event, I rent lol it's cheaper, lets me try out more styles without commitment and saves space.

Let me tell you about how I went thru my ugly phase(bae I'm probably still in it😭✋) ever since I was 10 I grew up with like 3 or 4 pretty girls in class and used to feel so ugly next to them. I thought if I looked like them, I'd be just as pretty. So i straightened my hair(tried every possible natural way) and followed all their beauty standards or wtv. My hair was so damaged and frizzed, I couldn't see a thing without my glasses, and I developed to have a shit ton of beauty products and this long ass skincare routine where I didn't even know what I was putting and somehow thankfully my face didn't get damaged. Then I realized maybe I should embrace myself and not look like a copy paste version of a matchstick. I started taking care of my curly hair. I chopped everything off and listened to my mom instead of fighting her because I knew she was right. Started everything from zero. The day I returned was the day I realized I was no longer felt shadowed or less pretty or wtv.Those girls got extremely jealous of my hair and started throwing random accusations saying I got it artificially etc. They started bullying me and laughing everytime they saw me but the others loved my hair and told me it suited me better. Since then I grew without comparing myself and naturally glowed wherever I went even if I wasn't pretty. Fuck being skinny and not eating to just have a body(not talking about anexorism sry idk how to spell it)Eat for your body and provide it to allow it to grow an not shrink. You just go healthier and radiate. Rn I'm a nationals athlete and I have never had a more stronger and healthier body❤

I dealt with discoloration on my face and neck for years and nothing worked except a turmeric kojic acid soap bar . There’s some on Amazon and it comes with two bars, I used it every shower (but not too much if your skin is sensitive) and started seeing a difference after two days . I haven’t used it in a year and my discoloration is almost completely gone still.

I’ve seen so many videos by women pushing beauty standards… for example in the last video “how to be more attractive” type video I watched the woman (I can’t remember her name) said that long straight hair is more attractive than short hair. Me personally, as a 4c girl who has always subconsciously hated my hair, I do not fit into that standard of beauty… and I felt like everyone thought my hair was unattractive just like I did. I love how your idea of beauty is less “figure out how to look more like this girl” and more “look like the best version of yourself.” It’s so much easier to accept what you’ve got and make it look its best than to try and make it something else altogether. I have a pair of good, leather shoes in a neutral brown that once again, goes with everything and a pair of sneakers. Does the job fantastically and I always steam/iron them to make it look fresh and pair it with a fun fragrance and hair style. If I have a specific event, I rent lol it's cheaper, lets me try out more styles without commitment and saves space.

Comparison is a thief of joy. Let me tell you about how I went thru my ugly phase(bae I'm probably still in it😭✋) ever since I was 10 I grew up with like 3 or 4 pretty girls in class and used to feel so ugly next to them. I thought if I looked like them, I'd be just as pretty. So i straightened my hair(tried every possible natural way) and followed all their beauty standards or wtv. My hair was so damaged and frizzed, I couldn't see a thing without my glasses, and I developed to have a shit ton of beauty products and this long ass skincare routine where I didn't even know what I was putting and somehow thankfully my face didn't get damaged. Then I realized maybe I should embrace myself and not look like a copy paste version of a matchstick. I started taking care of my curly hair. I chopped everything off and listened to my mom instead of fighting her because I knew she was right. Started everything from zero. The day I returned was the day I realized I was no longer felt shadowed or less pretty or wtv.Those girls got extremely jealous of my hair and started throwing random accusations saying I got it artificially etc. They started bullying me and laughing everytime they saw me but the others loved my hair and told me it suited me better. Since then I grew without comparing myself and naturally glowed wherever I went even if I wasn't pretty. Fuck being skinny and not eating to just have a body(not talking about anexorism sry idk how to spell it)Eat for your body and provide it to allow it to grow an not shrink. You just go healthier and radiate. Rn I'm a nationals athlete and I have never had a more stronger and healthier body❤

I dealt with discoloration on my face and neck for years and nothing worked except a turmeric kojic acid soap bar . There’s some on Amazon and it comes with two bars, I used it every shower (but not too much if your skin is sensitive) and started seeing a difference after two days . I haven’t used it in a year and my discoloration is almost completely gone still.
Invest in a good spectrum sunscreen, a good glycolic acid infused skincare item, check out PIH skincare, vitamin c is good too
Being ugly is def a choice. Choices that you yes you make that will make you uglier. Better attitude better choices better style better routine better outlook on life better lifestyle and boom your pretty inside and out. 💕
I’ve seen so many videos by women pushing beauty standards… for example in the last video “how to be more attractive” type video I watched the woman (I can’t remember her name) said that long straight hair is more attractive than short hair. Me personally, as a 4c girl who has always subconsciously hated my hair, I do not fit into that standard of beauty… and I felt like everyone thought my hair was unattractive just like I did. I love how your idea of beauty is less “figure out how to look more like this girl” and more “look like the best version of yourself.” It’s so much easier to accept what you’ve got and make it look its best than to try and make it something else altogether.
