We would go out in the country and find blackberries growing along the roadside. Mama would wash and cook them and add dumplings wo the pot. Great memories!
My mom did the same. Give us all sticks for the snakes. Wherever there is good, evil is always present.
Chef Jeffrey, I LOVE hearing your stories! That’s what makes You Sooo Special! Old School down home cooking comes from Your FAMILY LIFE from childhood to adulthood! I hope cooking like your mama did, will help you to constantly remember her and heal from her death. You are amazing, and I just Know that she is an Angel helping you every single day! I’m 72, and would be so honored to be your Mama! I know she felt that way for you! Wonderful Recipe!! Making this tomorrow!!❤🙏🏻👏🥰
I found black berries 30 cents a part. Cobbler in the oven and smells amazing. 😋 taking some to mom while still warm. You have been a Blessing to us.
Pineapple juice?!! Yaaaas! You did that. Great idea and good simple recipe for good hearty food
Love all your recipe
Thanks for this video. This is exactly how my southern grandmothers made their cobblers. Thanks to you, now I can try to replicate it tonight. Thanks and blessings to you and yours 👍🏻
I love the old stories. We used to eat the cobbler in a bowl with homemade biscuits. I am from Southern Md.
That black berry cobbler looks delicious and brings back so many memories and I plan to make my cobbler from this recipe because I LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL RECIPES
Thanks
His dishes look so good, he tells you what to use but he never tells you how much!

My favorite dessert. My grandmother also strained the seeds for me, the first grandchild. Beautiful memories. Thank you.

I love blackberry cobbler...can't wait to try to make one.
😮😋My grandma's sister baked a blackberry pie for us when I was probably about 7 years old! The weather was SO cold and she gave me that pie! I had never had it before & I couldn't stop eating it! I haven't had it since. I'm going to try this recipe. ❤Thanks Chef!
I always boil the liquid and the cornstarch then when thickened, turn off the heat and ad in whatever berries I'm using. That way, they don't break down as badly it seems. Looks delicious!
I’m getting ready to go shopping at shoprite , gonna buy blackberries and pineapple juice and make me some cobbler. Looks really good chef. Another one of Yur amazing recipes. God Bless , Stay Safe , Stay Blessed Chef 👨🍳.
I will be making this black berry cobbler. Thank you Chef. Praying all is well with you and family.
I made the cobbler for my friend and he loved it. My dad decided he also wanted it for his birthday and he and the family loved it so much that I had to make another one before I left to go back home so thank you sooo very much.

I'm gonna try your recipe. My hubby talks about blackberry cobbler every now and then about how his mother used to make it when he was younger. I finally bought some blackberries and I've been looking for a good recipe and yours seems perfect. I've never cared for blackberry cobbler because of the seeds but it sounds good right about now. Thank you
I never heard of using pineapple or apple juice - 🤔- Interesting. Most use water and add 1 to 2 Tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. It looks as I would say "Yum-Yum".☺
Your blackberry cobbler really look good thank you.

Yes peach cobbler actually is the same as my blackberry cobbler
Just you peach instead of blackberry
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD do you have a cherry cobbler recipe?
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD also in your video you added nutmeg but in the description you didn't mention the amount
I want to make a fresh blueberry cobbler do I do it the same way as the blackberry cobbler. Please reply ASAP.
Yes
Hello, I can't find the blue berry muffin video
that's just a lattes topped pie there right??! way to juicy for me them Barrie's gave off alot of water! And with that juice added be best to make a flour if starch fluffy!! to thicken that up to watery for me I like the source thicker and cranberry juice works best!👍
Why did you add water to your cornstarch can you just add cornstarch
No. It will create lumps that u can’t get out
mmmmmm mmmmmmm good we eat our with ice cream
Where is recipe
The cobbler turned out nice but won’t the flavor of the pineapple juice overpower the flavor of the blackberries? This was my favorite dessert as a child...
no,you wont be able to know pineapple juice is in it
it will actuality bring out the flavor of the blackberry's
A lot of the young ladies now don’t cook this way. I don’t know if they don’t understand how or if it’s just pure laziness. Most of them won’t cook good for their family. Everybody is eating out. They don’t know what they’re missing do they?
Exactly I agree ☝️
Been watching the gentleman cook for a while and for the most part he's a good cook but it ekks me to hear him say it doesn't have to be perfect where is the trying part of cooking where you put all your feelings heart into it not just slapping are throwing something together
