Fresh Blackberry Cobbler Recipe - How To Make Southern Blackberry Cobbler

Today I am making another Cobbler recipe and it is one of my favorites next to Peach, Blackberry Cobbler!
Simple, easy, baked in a fluffy, buttery crust and the best part, it is made with fresh Blackberries! A great dessert for the Springtime and everyone will love and enjoy this!
3 1/2 cups fresh blackberries (about 3 pints)
2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar
Crust
1 1/2 cups self rising or all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder (if using all purpose flour)
1/2 teaspoon salt (if using all purpose flour)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees (for Cobbler and Butter)
Place the butter into a 9x13 inch baking dish, put it in the oven and let it melt all the way. Set aside.
For the Berries:
In a medium bowl, add in the blackberries, lemon juice, and sugar, stir until well combined (it will create a glaze). Set aside.
For the Crust
In a large bowl, add in the flour, )baking powder and salt, if using) cinnamon, and sugar and whisk together until well incorporated. Slowly pour in half of the evaporated milk into the flour mixture and whisk, then add in the rest of the milk and whisk until well combined. Add in the vanilla extract, and almond extract and whisk together until well incorporated. Pour the crust mixture on top of the melted butter then add in the mixed berries (along with the juice from the berries) on top of the crust (do not stir). Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool on wire rack. Serve with vanilla ice cream, fresh blackberries (if desired) and enjoy!

I was doubtful, cinnamon, almond extract and evaporated milk sounded out of place. Oh my GOSH, was I wrong!!!!! It will be my go-to recipe for cobblers. Absolutely delicious.

This blackberry cobbler looks great! I like the lemon juice on the berries, and I think the almond extract would be good in this as well. I know evaporated milk is your favorite milk, so I wasn't surprised to see it in this recipe. Like I said, it turned out great. Thanks for sharing!
