- Granny's Traditional Blackberry Cobbler - 100 Year Old Recipe - Extra Yummy! - The Hillbilly Kitchen Black berry cobbler is a family tradition that spans generations.
Blackberry Cobbler is a delicious, healthier choice if you're looking for a fantastic dessert that the whole family is sure to love without feeding them High Fructose Corn Syrup or Mono-sodium Glutamate.
You can pick your blackberries yourself, or you can buy them at the farmer's market or grocery store. Even frozen blackberries taste great in a blackberry cobbler.
From the time I can remember I picked blackberries with my mom, my granny and my aunt Dot. Blackberry cane briars can really be painful! The briars are hooked and they can break off in your skin. We used to go home after picking blackberries and pick the briars out of our skin. Be careful if you've never picked them.
Remember to Put God First!
LUKE 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Looks so good. Here’s a funny blackberry picking story. My aunt and uncle were picking berries and my aunt had a pair of bib overalls on that had one of those loops for a hammer. While she was in the bushes somehow she ends up with a snake that got hooked on her hammer loop. She comes running out of the bushes with a snake hanging on her and my uncle, instead of helping her, runs away. Over the years we laughed so many times when hearing this story - I hope you enjoy it.
😂
That's so hilarious he was probably just afraid of the snake and forgot about his wife.
That’s absolutely hysterical, that poor snake was probably more scared than they were.😂
Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
I'd be running too. 🏃♀️
Snakes are my biggest fear. 🥺
I absolutely love this Channel and how wholesome Miss Becky is. She shares her childhood and the love of Jesus with her viewers. Plus she helps the younger women to become good and Frugal wives to their families. What an amazing channel to have stumbled across.
I have really enjoyed this broadcast ❤ To God Be The Glory ❤💕❣️
I picked some black berry's this morning and I saw your channel. I lost my mother last year on June 18. She was 91 years old. She made the best cobbler. You reminded me of her so much. She was a God fearing woman who prayed every day without exception. I just wanted to thank you for your soft spoken words. Just like my mother. She always said if you have nothing good to say about someone don't say anything.
Sorry for your loss I lost my dad a year ago. He was 49. I been picking berries past week .stay blessed.god bless you and your family 🕊️ ❤️

I’m sorry about your mom but it sounds like she is in heaven awaiting everyone’s arrival someday! Ty first stating your memories
@@enna4986 three of our sons died over the years and our youngest son at the time was just 3 years old when he died of leukemia. He died in 1978 and my mother in 1981. She said that knowing her precious grand baby was in heaven she made sure we knew that she was going Home To see her Savior. ❤️
@@enna4986 I’m very sorry if I spoke in response when I now think it was meant for Dear Becky. Please accept my apology.
Thank you Becky for sharing God’s word with others. The cobbler looks delicious! Have a blessed day. Much love ❤
Hello from Ohio, Becky. Thank you for sharing your granny's blueberry cobbler recipe. It looks scrumptious. I appreciate your encouraging words from the Bible. 🫐🫐 Love you ❤️✝️
My husband to this day at age 71, goes blackberry picking. My grandson’s will always cherish that memory of going blackberry picking with papaw. That sure made me want a blackberry cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I’m praying for your Kiersten and her children. God bless you and your family Becky.
It’s in the oven now we picked this morning can’t wait to eat it thank you for all you do as a single dad I have learnt a lot from you
It is great to listen to another sister in Christ.
I MADE IT!!!
A miracle!
Everybody loved it!!
They want it again
Our family’s blackberry cobbler layering tradition is reversed - melted butter first and berries last. It swells up around the berries and looks the same! We use a cup of milk instead of the egg, but basically, it’s all measured with a coffee cup. Thank you for sharing your tradition!
Same here. It was a batter that they pour over the top instead of the crumbles
From hillbilly to another hillbilly retired logger from Duvall Washington snoq. Valley lovelight lightlove ❤
I am new to your channel...So glad the LORD lead me to your channel. You bring joy.
Hi, my name is Richard and I love your recipes. Please keep showing them because you cook exactly the way my mother cooked and way her mother cooked and you make a blackberry cobbler. That was the my very favorite of all the cooking that they did and thank you for showing it to me and have him make it. God bless you.😊
God Bless your & your sweet girl. Praying Gods Blessings upon all your family❤️❤️
In my opinion she is not a stranger. She is part of our family. God bless her and God bless her family and God bless you.
My 1st time watching you and you share passage from Luke!!!!! Thank you ❤ and God bless you ✝️
Thank you Miss Becky for another simple but wonderful recipe. I am 80 years young and still have a business. At this time I have to wear all of the hats as I lost the love of my life a little over 10 months ago. I know what you are going through. You are ion my prayers. Have some fellows coming over Wednesday morning for bible study. Will bake the cobbler for them and expect that they will really enjoy it as well as they have some of the other recipes.
Im making this for my boyfriends 101 year old grandma! She’s coming all the way from texas! Thank you so much for this video :)
As soon as I saw the blackberry cobbler I knew it had to be hillbilly kitchen I love your channel
Me too😁👏🏾👏🏾❤ and I clicked on it immediately😂!
@@cynthiacarr2093 way to go girl love those old family recipe it doesn't get any better my family is always amazed that I memorized all our family recipe
Me too
This looks absolutely delicious and Beautiful. Thank you for the it with us and sharing your precious memory.God Bless 🙏
Amen! God bless you and your family 💕!
Mom makes a batter with her cobbler, and it goes in the casserole first. The fruit goes on top, and the dough bakes up and covers the fruit.
It is about my favorite desert. 😋
There are so many variations of fruit desserts… buckles, crumbles, pandowdys, Bettys, etc. They are all a little different, and all good.
My momma called it Floating crust cobbler but pretty sure she added milk to the batter. Good memory. 😊
@@kaybutcher5719 I don’t think it’s technically a cobbler, what I had. It’s closer to a clafoutis, I think. 🤷♂️
I’m looking to see what it is exactly.
My cobblers are this way too. SO GOOD, everyone loves it. I make berry and peach cobblers. This recipe on the video looks great too, and I'm gonna try it.
That is how I have always made mine and so did my mom. The batter had some baking powder in it too. Wonderful memories of picking them and making cobbler.
Plz share recipe it sounds wonderful
Love your precious spirit. God bless and guide you always.
Love blackberry anything looks yummy🙏❤️🥰
❤ I love this woman! God bless you ❤
Many memories of getting scratched up picking blackberries for cobbler. Worth every minute of it, in the end! If we had blackberry cobbler, we also had homemade ice cream. 💜💜💜
I have made this 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It's so simple and delicious. 2 times I didn't have enough blackberries. One time I added frozen pitted cherries and the other time frozen raspberries. I love your recipes and am so glad I found you. Very blessed.
Love your kitchen.God is good.and I will make the cobbler.Thank you for sharing...Amen
That's looks so good 💯 praying for her 🙏♥️🙏
At 70 I still pick blackberries with my 8 and 10 year old grands. So blessed.
Easy, simple recipe to make.
That'll do me.
Thank you Becky.❤🙏
God bless.
Amen sister. You are a blessing.
HI, I am watching from Germany. As I was a child 55 years ago me and my friends collected berries in milk cans like you. Our moms made jelly, jam and juice like you did. Cobblers were not common in Germany that time. Now the Germans know and like them, too.
Greetings are sent your way
I used to pick wild blackberries down the road with my dad. We'd both come home all scratched up, but the reward was mom's blackberry pie, blackberry jam, and blackberry jelly!
Ye have food that we know not of... Awesome desert for the soul my friend!!!
God bless you on Ascension Sunday! Anna in FL
Our family used to pick berries together like you described. You made me homesick for the times on the farm in Texas & the way our family used to get together. And for the precious loved ones who have gone home to the Lord. Thank you for the memories! God bless!!
I love watching you great food. God bless you
I just found your channel. The cobbler looked wonderful. I love your stories but your love of God is the best!
My grandmother would make a cobbler using pears and peaches, and it was the best. How blessed we are that we had grandmothers that shared their time with us. ❤️🤗
Hope you and dad are well and rested and will be home soon .
Just made this blackberry cobbler it is delicious. Keeping this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Love hearing that you picked berries as a family. 🥰❤
I am a first time viewer and I just want to say THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH....... I have been wanting this cobbler for so many years. I see all these ppl making cobbler with dump cake videos and i could tell it wasn't the same. I grew up with this. My momma and my aunts used to make this and we loved it. Then i heard you talk about picking berries and thought oh my gosh we have a lot in common. But my momma never gave me the recipe and she passed away when I was 20. I never got to ask her. I subscribed to your channel and cantvwait for your other videos. God bless you and your family ❤
I'm praying for you and your family ❤
❤❤❤ 👏👏👏
Thank you for another amazing video!!

Good morning everyone 💕
Blackberry cobbler is my absolute favorite. Blackberry dumplings are right behind.
Thank you Becky!!!
Trapped, I've haven't tried Blackberry Dumplings. I hope Becky does a video on how to make them. They sound delicious.
One of my favorite memories of my grandma was her blackberry dumplings.
@@AlexaLake15:00
@@AlexaLake1 ,Oh my goodness yes!!! I didn’t realize until I was probably 50 years old, that having 6 kids to feed, dumplings stretched a lot further than a pie or cobbler. Lol
I still remember the very large pan of dumplings…. Oh my!!! Lol
This looks yummy. God bless all here.
You once had recipes for Cobblers Buckles and Slumps. I would luv if you could do a series on those.
I can't wait to make this.
All the variations of fruit “cobblers”. I love them all.

I picked blackberries today, typed in blackberry cobbler in my UA-cam search and your video popped up. Just put it in the oven and can’t wait to have some.
I loved your recipe, but after hearing you story about Kiersten, I love it even more.
I will pray for Kiersten, and I ask the good Lord to assist her and get her happy again. God bless you and all the good that you do!
You make me feel so capable of cooking. But most of all your words shared from your heart as given by God have so lifted my spirit. God bless you richly in all ways.
Good morning Mrs. Becky love your channel.

Thanks for sharing your Granny's recipe and memories. The chiggers always fed on me when picking blackberries. Lol! I will be making this cobbler soon.
Yes the red bugs would eat you alive. You'd wind up with dots of fingernail polish all over you for a week
Thank you for sharing Jesus and this delicious recipe. This is one of the best recommendations UA-cam’s given me in a while.☺️
Ms. Becky, I wanted to thank you so very much for bringing these videos and teaching me and others how to cook those homemade goodies but getting us the best food for our Spiritual needs. I've been watching your videos for years and loved each one. So thank you my dear sister for all you do❣️❣️❣️❤💝💖💗
God bless you ma'am ❤
I got a mulberry tree so I’m definitely trying this recipe thank you UA-cam grandma
You are a blessing! My mom and I used to pull off side of old country roads in Virginia and pick wild Blackberries. This was when I was 4-7yrs old. My pail was always empty because I couldn't stop eating them. We moved to Indiana after that, so your videos brought back so many wonderful memories of my mom. She passed in 2013. I miss her so. Thank you again! I've subscribed! ❤
Your wonderful and the recipes are great. My family loves them.
What a great story to. Go with a sweet simple cobbler..thanks for such a nice video..
Thank you Becky for sharing the passage from Luke in the bible. Yes lay up your treasures in heaven. Where your heart is, your treasure will be also. May the Lord richly bless you and your family.

Reminds me of my family blackberry picking!❤
❤ thank you Becky for sharing. I was just thinking about grannys blackberry cobbler. Love you. God bless
Sounds so familiar except it was my Dad that always took all of us kids berry picking. Didn't thrill me at the time but such good memories and I did the same with my children, I still go picking. Actually our son did a lot of it this year, he went out through the fields about every other day for over a month picking mullberries, black caps and blackberries. Yesterday I made two batches of blackberry jam, yumm. Looking forward to trying out your Grannys recipe. Your sweet, love the Scripture reading at the end. 💝😊💝
I love your recipes and the words of God you share. Will be making this!!!
My granny always made us berry dumplings ( like chicken and dumplings but better, in my opinion) if we could pick enough berries. I miss that time with my granny. God bless.
Im not a believer in Christ, but I really enjoyed watching your video. Blackberry cobbler is one of my most favorite desserts; however, i didnt know how to make one. This recipe looks so easy. I cannot wait to try ot for this years Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and good words with us.
