Thank you very much, this information is very valuable to me. I am self-taught and I am going through a lot of work to understand certain things and these were some of them. Don't stop posting videos. Greetings
Fine camera work gives us detailed views of preparing media, and motions of fingers, hand and wrist. Commentary accompanying the technique is concise and informative. Thanks!
Bravo Shayne, for showing one of the oldest techniks, like the way of "sfumato"! With that way we can also paint in fresco technik and also in enkaustic technik. By transferring only a little idea of the material, (wich we wanna use on a surface) we have the control by minimising the percent of wrongly moves, (because in those very old techniks is not easy to go back and correct them! Keep going, love your way!
Literally been searching for videos on “dry brush” technique for egg tempera the last few weeks. Thank you for this very helpful video Shayne! Can you do a video on mixing colors for Cretan proplasmos and first light?

Hey, I just thought, I would love to see a video on what varnish to use and how to apply it. I bought some acrylic varnish and when I applied it to my icon board it left DEEP and very visible brush stroke marks, I have seen some people use their hands, not sure if that works better.

Hi, Mr. Swenson. A new subscriber here, I would just wanna ask out of my curiosity. Did you also work with acrylic in painting icons?
When will your next zoom class be? I’m new here. Been learning for a year.
