Thanks for showing the icon of Saint Ignatius of Antioch. That very same icon of him that you purchased is the one I’ve been debating with myself about purchasing. I needed to see the quality of the icon, and your video definitely helped. Cheers.
We are to “hear and DO” not “see and admire” You assume we must make an image to bow and serve but can’t evidence His teaching that assumption or poising Himself for an artisan to render Him Imagine the disciples teaching daily at the temple “…we can…we MUST make images of Him to bow and serve here…” Not even Jews argued “we can make images because we saw Moses…and even He had us make images for the temple…” “Let’s make us more bronze serpents for home and office”
@@jonathanskeet5076 from watching yours bow and serve…even in computers it’s understood to serve an image is to deliver it…host it…use it…store it…clean it…move it around…save it…all to improve viewer experience The bronze serpent needed destroying as it had become an idol merely because incense was being burnt to it…
If you’re more interested in this topic of iconography I recommend St. John of Damascus and his work “On the Divine Images” and St. Theodore the Studite and his “On the Holy Images” they could be quite insightful.
@@paladinhansen137 And if you're more interested in not making abominations to Him you can read what He says about it in the OT...and the consequences which befell Israel for doing so (not once having argued "but He told us too") ...Paul picks it up in the NT to btw...as His incorruptible is NOT to be made into corruptible John of Damascus needs merely to show that image making/venerating was part of the contract He signed with His blood and sealed at the cross...the New Covenant He christened to a room full of jews after having taught and lived it. You do understand a last will and testament can NOT be changed after the testator is dead yes? Is why we don't have any evidence making/venerating images. Go to any probate court with a valid will and try to make changes (developed doctrines) even decades after it is sealed...much less centuries later... If your John and Damascus could provide evidence of His disciples teaching "we can and MUST make images of Him to venerate here in the temple" that would be helpful...
We can agree to disagree as we have different interpretations of Holy Writ. But I ask you this, How am I to read the Bible if you don’t want images? Letters are images… and after you burn the image of the very letters of Holy Writ because the words and letters are by definition an image than is Holy Writ now banned and to be destroyed to stay on course with your flawed definition of images? Are humans, who are in the image and likeness of God also to be ceased? Since humans are an image should we just delete ourselves to a God who became incarnate flesh?
the blood of martyrs is the seed of the church
Amen to that
They look amazing man I wonder how these artists make such art

Could you give the sizes of each icon? Please and thank you. God bless ✝️🩷
Is that a menorah in the back or just a candleholder?
Indeed.

Orthodox is a fancy name for protestant 💫
Sizes of each icon?
I always liked Esther because of how it doesn't mention God. ☦️
the icon of the holy family is heretical
Why?
It’s heretical to think Joseph being a young man would mean THE MOTHER OF GOD would break her chastity

Hear, do see admire, all of it. We don't "serve" the images, don't know where you got that idea from.
