As a Professional Sub-Divison Painter myself , I do pretty much the same and was taught the same .. But big difference is that there's no way I would use that pole at that short length. That is awful for ur back , and after 1 hour like that ur in serious pain . No way you can do that 8-12 hrs a day for 5-6 days a week and keep coming back to work lol
Extend that pole and keep ur back straight man

It's a very long roller (twice as long as average) with a thick nap texture that holds more paint. He also pre loads the wall with paint in the opposite direction that hes going to roll it out in. And, that is a relatively short wall in height and lenght.

It depends on how you pair it. My back wall, curtains, and bed clothes are black, my furniture is all dark cherry wood, I have lots of twinkly lights and flowers. It's fantasy/enchanted forest vibes. I had a similar colour as accents in my nursery, paired with a pale yellow and white, and it was all faerie and bug themed. @@paintcoach101 I get what you're saying mate. In my country we work to such strict work safe rules that if you are told to extend your pole and you didn't do it you would be disciplined. I think he's more comfortable with the demo by choking up on the grip and the pole like that!
I'm a professional Carpenter but it was a time I studied intensely on UA-cam and Google as well as picking the brains of every painter I came across for whatever tips I could gather to make myself more efficient painter which definitely paid off in the end a lot!
I personally like to extend the pole whenever possible but I've never used such a wide roller and I do believe he was just trying to be as fast and as efficient as possible without hitting the ceiling or the floor or the baseboard or anything like that too much...
Whoever just made the comment about his posture being wrong I agree that would definitely hurt your back to do that kind of position for a long long time, but the way this guy's moving you can probably paint that whole house in the time it takes me to do two or three walls LOL!
I admit he's pretty darn fast he could probably hold his breath maybe three breaths total and paint the whole house so I don't think he's too worried about his back posture LOL! 😊

To get that much paint on the wall you would have to push very hard and in doing so he would get tiny dots everywhere of purple all over the ceiling fan, ceiling etc. creating more work for yourself it would’ve only taken you maybe five dips of paint in the tray to do it right! But now the home owners will be finding purple dots everywhere for years. And will have to repaint the ceiling. And anywhere the floor was exposed.

Just a quick tip.. make sure you extend that pole so that you don’t have to bend your back and apply pressure with your body on that roller if you want a happy back. Let the wrist and arms do the work.. making sure the pole is extended as far as necessary so you don’t have to bend as much. You will get the same outcome or even better for half the energy.. also what kind of brand is this roller sleeve??!😂

I'm not a painter by trade. But, the look at these comments, painters have got to be the most opiniated group of people I've ever seen. Like stfu, the paint is on the wall and you all act like its a hard job. SMH

Thats a good technique to do the zig zag and then paint the whole wall easy

It just pains me so much to see the zigzag line instead of a straight up and down line I mean -

They do that so the paint is evenly distributed along the whole wall, since the first strokes have the maximum quantity of paint

I've been decorating myself since December I've still got 2 rooms left. I sneezed & missed January. I'm in an old Glasgow tenement my wall's suck the paint off the roller like a 🥤but🙏🏻 that I don't throw the paint like a snowball 🤣😂, stay blessed 💙💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I hope that is going to get another coat because he dry rolled the hell out of that. Definitely not professional! 37 years experience here and would never do that. The title is right: Beginner!

Why would there be a need to use a tool for rolling floors and used on walls and especially ceiling? More strenuous job. Day labor.
