Thank you for a great video. The Canon EOS-M seems to be a well kept secret! I have been making films with this for years since leaving the mirrored SLR pack. If one adheres to the proper rules for good video making such as controlling camera movement and appropriate lighting and use of lenses etc - then the results can be outstanding.

Lygon st. in another) in winter and feel for you all here in Perth. Quick question but. What M model did you shoot the short on? The Red/Silver or Black? I dunno anything about the variations
I've had the P4K, it's a nice camera for sure. The EOS M is really amazing though for the price, I've got crazy gear coming in for it I can share. I will do much more short films once restrictions ease, should be good 😎👍 I shot with my RED EOS M, colour doesn't make difference though.
Is there a huge quality difference between 1080 and 2.5k? Since the 2.5 has a crop its hard to get ultra wide angle shots. Could you combine them in a sequence without being jarring?
I like your videos because they show you what is possible with a cheaper set up. You don't need a $3000 camera to get good quality! Do you know if magic latern will do more work with the Canon M100?
Thanks a lot :) It's up to the developers to decide which camera they choose to work on as well as if it's possible to input ML. Personally I don't think so. The next M camera may be the M50.
Hi Zeek, great compilation of shooting modes, i agree with 2k8 comments, pushes the card to the limit and sometimes unpredictable, I will stick with your advice to get reliable shoot times now that we have a better margin and extra speed from the camera with good fps to card write times
It does. I set the MHz SD Overclock to 160. It think that's a sweet spot at least for me. 192MHz Overclock can sometimes change drastically in performance or become unpredictable.

Haha cool! I was wearing a NASA shirt in the vid, you probably can barely see it, I wanted to give it a harsh space-like atmosphere look causing the lens to flare. I always like to try new things lol, I know UA-camrs aim for consistency in their vids, I just like to experiment, that's where the fun is 😉 For the quick short film, I didn't use any lighting apart from the stuff on the desk and bedroom lamp lol. Professional Lighting would definitely help 😎👍
Zeek don't know if I'm being stoopid here but video seems zoomed in and I can't get this setting off 😕 on the live view there are 4 arrows top bottom left and right and it says * X5
@@andrewmackenzie9239 It's how ML Works to access the high resolutions, it needs to utilise this mode from the Canon EOS M to crop the sensor to get high res. When you press info it shows you the actual raw framing, frame by frame. So use live view to focus and record, and the info button to check correct framing for reference. It's the best we've got for high resolution raw 😎👍
Hey Zeek, thanks for the video, in one of your previous build you had a feature to press info for false color, can you tell me or make a video on how to do it in a newer build?
Yeah sure, I think it's under the 5/6th tab towards the bottom, called LV Preset. When you press info it changes Live View. Press info once for the second live view and enable false colour on that one.
Thank you for all your tutorials for the magic lantern community. Do you know if canon 100d has all the features same as canon EOS M? I know their from the same generation and have very similar hardware.
Yes very similar but not as good as the Eos m. The 700d is becoming advanced too. I really do like the Eos m more though because of adaptability to other lenses like Canon FD and C mount, as well as the option to use a speedbooster.
@@ZeekEOSZ would you recommend the 700d over eos m if my glass selection is all EF-S? Lol funny I actually upgraded from the 700d to 200d. And now going back maybe haha for video work.
I've actually never used the 700d, though it looks quite promising. I see you like the flipscreen stuff, so it may be a good choice for ML. The EOS M will have to rely on external monitors.
Hello Zeek, I presume that the 2.5K and 3K have more crop on the sensor than the 1080P so they will zoom in final result. Could you confirm please. Nice explainations by the way, keep on making evelving our little beast (EOS M).
Here is some info on some of the crops on the EOS M & ML Raw: 4.48x Crop (1.6 + 2.88) in mv1080 x3crop @ 16:9 1800px wide (matches lenses for 1/1.6" and bigger sensor) 3.96x Crop (1.6 + 2.36) in 2.5k @ 16:9 3.66x Crop (1.6 + 2.06) in 2.5k @ 2.35:1 (matches lenses for 16mm film and bigger) 3.45x Crop (1.6 + 1.85) in 2.8k @ 2.35:1 EOS M sensor size: 22.3 x 14.9 mm EOS M sensor width: 5184px (Collected info from Jip-Hop)

Zeek I’ve always wondered about photos, I’ve never tried photos with magic lantern because I always just change my memory card whenever I need to shoot a photo but how does it work is there specific photo modes or do I just take a photo while filming like in the original! Wow loving the acting zeek!!

Eos m would be the best having the most modes and features. The M2 is great for monitor use as there are no dropped frames. These are the only two M series Cameras with ML atm.
Haha...I have members working from home, so there were certain things I couldn't do. Pretty much the limitation of restrictions and stuff. Maybe once the restrictions ease I could do a full one.
Thank you!! At the moment, the only setting that is stable, for me, is the 1080p mode even though I have a fast SD. Also, is there a way to turn off auto iso?
To turn off auto iso, you need to go to the Eos m dashboard by pressing INFO. currently it's been set to change live view display, so you can go in the 5th/6th ML Tab and turn that off. The press info until you get the dashboard, from the camera icon you can switch to manual mode, and then tap iso on the dashboard and set it to 100 ISO.
Hey Zeek, i recently bought a FOTGA md-eosm adapter to use vintage md lenses i have. Although when i press record nothing happens? this is only an issue when using the adapter as everything works fine with my kit lens. Just wondering if you kno what might be causing this issue? love ur content, Cheers mate!
I downloaded and tried both. First, there is no audio. Second, LV was totally messed up. Third, recording seemed unstable. Only the 10/5/2022 operates with total reliability.

Yep so CM1 & CM2 are what you are after. To delete the rest, go onto your SD in try ML Folder find SETTINGS, then delete the other Cam's you don't need.

Every time when i use Luts on my Log c or SLog3 footage in Adobe premiere, the video suffer an horrible banding in the skys. Your videos suffer the same problem? Is a Eos M problem? No problem 👍 The issue is your editing software. It's limited to 10 bit Color as well as FCPX which is 10 bit. DaVinci Resolve is 12 bit and MLV App which is used to convert the raw files is 16 bit Color. So banding can happen in your editing software if pushed too far. Grading MLV App can limit this, otherwise try not to push the information too far in your editing software.
I absolutely love your videos! I have binged all the videos on Canon EOS M. It seems to be a very promising camera and I think I will get one very soon! However, I have one doubt regarding shooting raw on it that is how much does the sensor crop in different modes? Could you make a comprehensive list on different how much each raw mode crop info the sensor from 1080 to 5k Raw mode? This will largely dictate the lenses I get for this system as you yourself mentioned that you've been using a lot of C Mount lenses on the camera. Please drop the list of crop mode applied on each raw shootings mode in the comments or make a seperate video on it depending upon what's more convenient for you! Also let me know if my knowledge of Magic Lantern is outdated and the crop on all raw modes is pretty much gone (if that's the case I'll order two cameras right now!) I have an ISCO anamorphic projection lens and a few Canon FD lenses which I am considering on using as the taken lenses. Kindly share the details of crop on both the anamorphic modes whenever you get the time.
You need to set 4:3 Aspect Ratio. So in the 1080 Mode or 2.5K Raw Mode, set Aspect Ratio to 4:3 then bring down the resolution until it confirms that aspect ratio.
@@ZeekEOSZ you mentioned in the 2x Anamorphic on Canon EOS M video (ua-cam.com/video/TmO5iLQ2hR4/v-deo.html) that mv1080 crop mode is required to set the camera to a 4:3 mode, which as previously mentioned has a crop factor of 4.61x. Can the camera be set to 4:3 on normal 1080 raw MODE (1.6x) as well which doesn't have any crop?
1080 mode is all 1.6x crop. You can enable X3 crop on top for lenses that vignette, like C mount lenses. Other higher resolution modes will have crops as mentioned.
It's like coloured lines on sharp edges. If you search Blackmagic or Eos m all asking for example, you will see some samples. Sometimes it's not as obvious, other times it can be depending on the lens you use etc.itevonly in the 1080 modes of you use the X3 crop mode or high resolutions, you barely see it, even the 5k Anamorphic Mode.

@@amosdjunaidi8605 I don't use this mode because there is a lot of aliasing. In tab 3 ML menu there is the 30/36/48fps preset select that. Then in ratio tab 3, set it to 2.35:1, 10 bit.
Zeek, Thanks for the video. I have picked up an eos m with canon 22mm and 7 artisans 25mm lense. Do you have a preset setting for slow motion to go with your other settings?
Hey Zeek, I’m getting to know magic lanter on the EOS M, the thing is that when I download it and go to the movie settings it only brings “Raw Video (MLV)” there’s no “presets” “custom modes” “bitdepth” or other settings. Can you tell me how to get them?
My build is in the description for download. You may have got yours from the actual website. They haven't been updated in a while. The updates can be found in the ML Forum for the Eos m. Lots of talk around there.
Hey again Man, I downloaded both your build and night build and replaced the files in the Card but still couldn’t enable nor find some features. Do you know what or how should I activate?
@@edwinevazquezcamacho6700 Replacing the files don't do the trick, its not the right method. You need to update firmware, wait 60 seconds for ML to uninstall, then format the card in camera. Once the card is clean, then you paste the ML files onto it and update firmware.
Hey Zeek! thanks for the tutorial! very very helpful :) Just wondering how you'd get 48 or 50 fps on this build? I tried setting to 48 fps, 96 shutter at 1080 raw but it just won't record. any ideas?
@@ZeekEOSZ Hey thanks zeek. I've tried this but it still wasn't working. Also, even when I'm recording at default 24 fps or with 25 fps turned on, the playback turns out to be 10-12 fps and the video is unusable. not sure what I'm missing here. I don't know if you'd be able to help, but either way, really appreciate the content!
@@asyrafabdulsamad5411 The Eos m records raw frames, pretty much like taking burst photos and seeing a video playback of them. Once you export them as ProRes or MP4 files in mlv app, they'll playback normally.
In my camera for some modes that short errror picture when you restart and half of the image is with red lines and the other with white distorsion stays? how can i fix this`?
Depends what mode you use, 1080 mode raw is continuous as well as 2.5K 2.35:1 and 16:9 @2.2K. 2.8K Can be a gamble, but as shown in this video, I've gotten more than 5 Minutes of 2.7K Raw @2.35:1.

I have a question for you, I understand that when shooting in raw if you aren't using the correct live view it is very choppy playback but are you able to review the footage you took on the back of the camera without choppiness or can you only review your footage on a computer? Hey Zeek, I'm just trying to use 1080 mode and I am getting mad pink frames in all my videos. It's all unusable. I have your setting and build loaded on to my camera from this video. Any ideas? I don't see the pink frames when I'm playing the video from in camera, only in the MLV app.
I should also probably metion that the only thing I have messed with is the shutter fine tuning, and for some reason I cant quite get 1/48. I can get 1/47 but the frame rate says it's 29.something fps.
@@ZeekEOSZ thanks. problem solved there. One more thing is that my ISO is stuck on auto. Again, I'm only using the 1080 mode right now. In the Expo menu it says ISO auto, but when I click it I cannot change it. My ISO on display says A200 or whatever number it changes to. not sure whats going on here.

Dear Zeek - Wondering if you help me find the latest Magic Lantern Builds for the 5D Mkiii - Dannephoto seems to be shutdown now, latest builds on magic lantern seem to be from 2018. Whole magic lantern site seems to be very hard to navigate through. spent hours trying to find some better builds for this camera. hope they can fix the the live view on the mkii like they have with eosm, i should have just stuck with eosm rather than the mkiii im starting to think.great video too btw regards Symon James

I have a question. In the build you link to in this video, when I got to the timelapse settings, the fps option is not there anymore like it was on a previous build. Under 4k timelapse the options are: off 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. The note at the bottom of the screen says "turns 4k presets into Lazy shutter timelapse. 1=snappiest, 12=lazy, 0=off" Can you elaborate on what that means? I assumed 1-12 was FPS but when I set the timelapse to "2", the FPS of the resulting MLV was 5.134 FPS. Setting it to "10" resulted in 2.11 FPS. SO it appears that the higher the number, the lower the FPS.
Those numbers are intervals. 👍 I prefer the Timelapse in the older build on my other settings video, but there is another way using the interverlometer to shoot time-lapse.
Zeek thanks for the response. I shot some tests and wrote down the results. I didn’t test all 12 intervals but here are the numbers I did test, for anyone who might find this helpful. 2 = 5.134 fps 6 = 2.99 fps 8 = 2.475 fps 10 = 2.11 fps 12 = 1.839 fps

You need to go into settings, custom functions and then enable release without shutter. 😎👍 My latest ML Video isn't this one, I've made a newer one on the channel. 🎥💯
just test with my camera body of 2.7k and 2.8k , in 2.7k it could record about 20-30s , with 2.8k , it could record about 7s, top left always in red. anyway 2.5k continous is good enough, just sometimes still have pink frame
@@ZeekEOSZ yes ,the type you recommended , after a few more try , it seems 2.7k is stable and could record several minutes , and i found there are some small green spot grouped in rectangle just under middle of screen , not sure is it hot ,dead or focus pixel? , but in the meanwhile it is not shown when i shoot photo instead of movie , i need to use chroma smooth 3*3 or 4*4 to remove it , this does not happened before.

Thanks to you, Zeek, I've discovered the joy of EOS-M. Looking to grab one as I can't afford a BMPCC 4K. Loved seeing Melbourne (Esp. Lygon st. in another) in winter and feel for you all here in Perth. Quick question but. What M model did you shoot the short on? The Red/Silver or Black? I dunno anything about the variations
I've had the P4K, it's a nice camera for sure. The EOS M is really amazing though for the price, I've got crazy gear coming in for it I can share.

Is there a huge quality difference between 1080 and 2.5k? Since the 2.5 has a crop its hard to get ultra wide angle shots. Could you combine them in a sequence without being jarring?
You can combine them yes, the 2.5K Raw will look better and more detailed.

Thanks a lot :) It's up to the developers to decide which camera they choose to work on as well as if it's possible to input ML. Personally I don't think so. The next M camera may be the M50.

Hi Zeek, great compilation of shooting modes, i agree with 2k8 comments, pushes the card to the limit and sometimes unpredictable, I will stick with your advice to get reliable shoot times now that we have a better margin and extra speed from the camera with good fps to card write times
It does. I set the MHz SD Overclock to 160. It think that's a sweet spot at least for me. 192MHz Overclock can sometimes change drastically in performance or become unpredictable.

Haha cool! I was wearing a NASA shirt in the vid, you probably can barely see it, I wanted to give it a harsh space-like atmosphere look causing the lens to flare. I always like to try new things lol, I know UA-camrs aim for consistency in their vids, I just like to experiment, that's where the fun is 😉
For the quick short film, I didn't use any lighting apart from the stuff on the desk and bedroom lamp lol. Professional Lighting would definitely help 😎👍

It's how ML Works to access the high resolutions, it needs to utilise this mode from the Canon EOS M to crop the sensor to get high res. When you press info it shows you the actual raw framing, frame by frame. So use live view to focus and record, and the info button to check correct framing for reference. It's the best we've got for high resolution raw 😎👍

Yeah sure, I think it's under the 5/6th tab towards the bottom, called LV Preset. When you press info it changes Live View. Press info once for the second live view and enable false colour on that one.
Thank you for all your tutorials for the magic lantern community. Do you know if canon 100d has all the features same as canon EOS M? I know their from the same generation and have very similar hardware.
Yes very similar but not as good as the Eos m. The 700d is becoming advanced too. I really do like the Eos m more though because of adaptability to other lenses like Canon FD and C mount, as well as the option to use a speedbooster.

I've actually never used the 700d, though it looks quite promising. I see you like the flipscreen stuff, so it may be a good choice for ML. The EOS M will have to rely on external monitors.

Hello Zeek, I presume that the 2.5K and 3K have more crop on the sensor than the 1080P so they will zoom in final result. Could you confirm please. Nice explainations by the way, keep on making evelving our little beast (EOS M).
Here is some info on some of the crops on the EOS M & ML Raw:
4.48x Crop (1.6 + 2.88) in mv1080 x3crop @ 16:9 1800px wide (matches lenses for 1/1.6" and bigger sensor)
3.96x Crop (1.6 + 2.36) in 2.5k @ 16:9
3.66x Crop (1.6 + 2.06) in 2.5k @ 2.35:1 (matches lenses for 16mm film and bigger)
3.45x Crop (1.6 + 1.85) in 2.8k @ 2.35:1

Zeek I’ve always wondered about photos, I’ve never tried photos with magic lantern because I always just change my memory card whenever I need to shoot a photo but how does it work is there specific photo modes or do I just take a photo while filming like in the original! Wow loving the acting zeek!!
Yeah, just switch to the photo icon on the top and take a photo. Works seamlessly. In the 1st tab at the bottom, disable exposure override.
What's the longest time a take could be in this mode Zeek? (oh, Once again, Love your work. Tax Return comes in one of these are mine, even with the Covid price hikes here in Perth)
In hd mode, continuous Raw until the battery life ends or the card fills up. Same as the other modes depending on the resolution/Aspect Ratio.

Eos m would be the best having the most modes and features. The M2 is great for monitor use as there are no dropped frames. These are the only two M series Cameras with ML atm.

Thank you!! At the moment, the only setting that is stable, for me, is the 1080p mode even though I have a fast SD. Also, is there a way to turn off auto iso?
To turn off auto iso, you need to go to the Eos m dashboard by pressing INFO. currently it's been set to change live view display, so you can go in the 5th/6th ML Tab and turn that off. The press info until you get the dashboard, from the camera icon you can switch to manual mode, and then tap iso on the dashboard and set it to 100 ISO.

With each new build, there is no way of copying the Settings unfortunately.

Hey Zeek, i recently bought a FOTGA md-eosm adapter to use vintage md lenses i have. Although when i press record nothing happens? this is only an issue when using the adapter as everything works fine with my kit lens. Yeah, in the canon menu "yellow wrench" select custom function, enable release without shutter..done! :)

I downloaded and tried both. First, there is no audio. Second, LV was totally messed up. Third, recording seemed unstable. Only the 10/5/2022 operates with total reliability.

Cropped from the sensor size which is 1.6x Apsc. If it were a FF Camera then it would be otherwise.

Yep so CM1 & CM2 are what you are after. To delete the rest, go onto your SD in try ML Folder find SETTINGS, then delete the other Cam's you don't need.

The issue is your editing software. It's limited to 10 bit Color as well as FCPX which is 10 bit. DaVinci Resolve is 12 bit and MLV App which is used to convert the raw files is 16 bit Color. So banding can happen in your editing software if pushed too far. Grading MLV App can limit this, otherwise try not to push the information too far in your editing software.

I absolutely love your videos! I have binged all the videos on Canon EOS M. It seems to be a very promising camera and I think I will get one very soon! However, I have one doubt regarding shooting raw on it that is how much does the sensor crop in different modes? Could you make a comprehensive list on different how much each raw mode crop info the sensor from 1080 to 5k Raw mode? This will largely dictate the lenses I get for this system as you yourself mentioned that you've been using a lot of C Mount lenses on the camera. Please drop the list of crop mode applied on each raw shootings mode in the comments or make a seperate video on it depending upon what's more convenient for you! Also let me know if my knowledge of Magic Lantern is outdated and the crop on all raw modes is pretty much gone (if that's the case I'll order two cameras right now!)

I have an ISCO anamorphic projection lens and a few Canon FD lenses which I am considering on using as the taken lenses. Kindly share the details of crop on both the anamorphic modes whenever you get the time.
You need to set 4:3 Aspect Ratio. So in the 1080 Mode or 2.5K Raw Mode, set Aspect Ratio to 4:3 then bring down the resolution until it confirms that aspect ratio.
@@ZeekEOSZ you mentioned in the 2x Anamorphic on Canon EOS M video (ua-cam.com/video/TmO5iLQ2hR4/v-deo.html) that mv1080 crop mode is required to set the camera to a 4:3 mode, which as previously mentioned has a crop factor of 4.61x. Can the camera be set to 4:3 on normal 1080 raw MODE (1.6x) as well which doesn't have any crop?
1080 mode is all 1.6x crop. You can enable X3 crop on top for lenses that vignette, like C mount lenses. Other higher resolution modes will have crops as mentioned.

I believe max is 50fps, but just the aliasing can be a little difficult
can you explain in more detail the "aliasing" you mention when using 1080 mode? First time i've heard about this one...
It's like coloured lines on sharp edges. If you search Blackmagic or Eos m all asking for example, you will see some samples. Sometimes it's not as obvious, other times it can be depending on the lens you use etc.itevonly in the 1080 modes of you use the X3 crop mode or high resolutions, you barely see it, even the 5k Anamorphic Mode.
I finally got my EOS-M and Now none of my TV -C lens fit because the collar is too wide to fit the C adapter. ???

A 7Artisans TTArtisans 17mm F1.4 or 7Artisans 25mm are good. Others: Sigma 18-35, 17-50 or Canon 22EF-m are also good choices.

The Max is 30 fps or 48fps but it has a X3 Crop I believe.

I don't use this mode because there is a lot of aliasing.
In tab 3 ML menu there is the 30/36/48fps preset select that. Then in ratio tab 3, set it to 2.35:1, 10 bit.

Hey Zeek, I’m getting to know magic lanter on the EOS M, the thing is that when I download it and go to the movie settings it only brings “Raw Video (MLV)” there’s no “presets” “custom modes” “bitdepth” or other settings. Can you tell me how to get them?
My build is in the description for download. You may have got yours from the actual website. They haven't been updated in a while. The updates can be found in the ML Forum for the Eos m. Lots of talk around there.

Replacing the files don't do the trick, its not the right method. You need to update firmware, wait 60 seconds for ML to uninstall, then format the card in camera. Once the card is clean, then you paste the ML files onto it and update firmware.

The Eos m records raw frames, pretty much like taking burst photos and seeing a video playback of them. Once you export them as ProRes or MP4 files in mlv app, they'll playback normally.
In my camera for some modes that short errror picture when you restart and half of the image is with red lines and the other with white distorsion stays? how can i fix this`?

Depends what mode you use, 1080 mode raw is continuous as well as 2.5K 2.35:1 and 16:9 @2.2K.
2.8K Can be a gamble, but as shown in this video, I've gotten more than 5 Minutes of 2.7K Raw @2.35:1.

I have a question for you, I understand that when shooting in raw if you aren't using the correct live view it is very choppy playback but are you able to review the footage you took on the back of the camera without choppiness or can you only review your footage on a computer? It's raw video so it goes frame by frame. It will be like that when you playback in camera.

High FPS Most likely, try enabling 2.35:! and 10 bit in the raw video tab.

Hey Zeek, I'm just trying to use 1080 mode and I am getting mad pink frames in all my videos. It's all unusable. I have your setting and build loaded on to my camera from this video. Any ideas? I don't see the pink frames when I'm playing the video from in camera, only in the MLV app.
I should also probably metion that the only thing I have messed with is the shutter fine tuning, and for some reason I cant quite get 1/48. I can get 1/47 but the frame rate says it's 29.something fps.
The reason for the pink frames is the 30 fps. Set it to 24/25 and you'll be fine!
@@ZeekEOSZ thanks. problem solved there. One more thing is that my ISO is stuck on auto. Again, I'm only using the 1080 mode right now. In the Expo menu it says ISO auto, but when I click it I cannot change it. My ISO on display says A200 or whatever number it changes to. not sure whats going on here.

Dear Zeek - Wondering if you help me find the latest Magic Lantern Builds for the 5D Mkiii - Dannephoto seems to be shutdown now, latest builds on magic lantern seem to be from 2018. Whole magic lantern site seems to be very hard to navigate through. spent hours trying to find some better builds for this camera. hope they can fix the the live view on the mkii like they have with eosm, i should have just stuck with eosm rather than the mkiii im starting to think.great video too btw regards Symon James

I have a question. In the build you link to in this video, when I got to the timelapse settings, the fps option is not there anymore like it was on a previous build. Under 4k timelapse the options are: off 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. The note at the bottom of the screen says "turns 4k presets into Lazy shutter timelapse. 1=snappiest, 12=lazy, 0=off"
Can you elaborate on what that means? I assumed 1-12 was FPS but when I set the timelapse to "2", the FPS of the resulting MLV was 5.134 FPS. Setting it to "10" resulted in 2.11 FPS. SO it appears that the higher the number, the lower the FPS.
Those numbers are intervals. 👍 I prefer the Timelapse in the older build on my other settings video, but there is another way using the interverlometer to shoot time-lapse.
Zeek thanks for the response. I shot some tests and wrote down the results. I didn’t test all 12 intervals but here are the numbers I did test, for anyone who might find this helpful.
2 = 5.134 fps
6 = 2.99 fps
8 = 2.475 fps
10 = 2.11 fps
12 = 1.839 fps

You shouldn't get them. Check if you're accidentally in 30fps instead of 24/25. Also, monitors can cause this. Let me know. Cheers!

@@ZeekEOSZ I'm shooting in Raw HD 1080P mode at 1736x726 resolution. My card is a 32GB Sandisk Extreme Pro. Do you have any idea what it could be?

What build are you using? The one from the Magic Lantern website? I personally don't like the 32GB cards for raw. It shouldn't stop recording unless it's a fake card.

Yes, three files paste onto the sd card and update firmware.

now with all of these record limits, does that mean i need to replace the sd card with another because it is full?
64GB and above is preferred. If it's full you cant do much but format. I use 512GB barely fills up. Recording feels forever..
@@ZeekEOSZ hmmm well I would like to have a cinematic type vlog/interviews. Ideally 4k 14bit 24fps. what size would you recommend if lets say i wanted to continuously record for an hour. is this even possible? or should i just record 1080p then upscale? Should I install Magic Lantern to use other lenses? I ordered the lens and adapter from aliexpress and it doesn't work atm.
You need to go into settings, custom functions and then enable release without shutter. 😎👍

45 is fine, depends on the climate or mode you're in.

It's the 1080 Mode: 1.6x Crop like normal Apsc Canon Cameras.
just test with my camera body of 2.7k and 2.8k , in 2.7k it could record about 20-30s , with 2.8k , it could record about 7s, top left always in red. anyway 2.5k continous is good enough, just sometimes still have pink frame
Are you using the SanDisk Extreme PRO? SD Overclock for me is set to 160MHz.
@@ZeekEOSZ yes ,the type you recommended , after a few more try , it seems 2.7k is stable and could record several minutes , and i found there are some small green spot grouped in rectangle just under middle of screen , not sure is it hot ,dead or focus pixel? , but in the meanwhile it is not shown when i shoot photo instead of movie , i need to use chroma smooth 3*3 or 4*4 to remove it , this does not happened before.

Yeah new build, new mode (2.8K) requires new focus pixel maps. For now 3x3 chroma smooth should do the trick. I use it.
I have a sandisk extreme pro card but why can't I shoot continuous?
Depends what mode you are shooting in + make sure you are not @30Fps.
@@ZeekEOSZ does not matter which mode it is, it can't even in 1080p mode
