The blind woman’s (😊) needlepoint pillow turned out so beautiful! The houndstooth background really makes it. I never would have thought of doing that. I love seeing what you two design.
You two bring joy to my heart with your good natured bickering ..Arne with his hoarding and you Carlos pretending to be annoyed by it. If I could pick my neighbors I would have you two on one side of me and Kate on the other.
Oh Carlos! I love your expression when covering your face and shaking head because Arne brings "interesting" things into the house! Arne: I love your "I want to keep everything from my childhood" attitude. It is a way to remember wonderful memories. You two are a delight XXXOOO
I LOVE Arne's slow truth. Arne: I took the Christmas Tree out. Carlos: Yeah, when? Arne: (slow truth #1)... a few weeks ago... I saved it... Carlos: We have 2. Arne: No, we have 3. Carlos: We had 2 (I think he is trying to convince himself). Arne: (slow truth #2) Actually, we have 5... I haven't seen 2 of them in a long time. You guys crack me up!!
I did not have a chance to watch this until today. You two are a perfect pair. Many laughs listening to you both. Arne I agree with you the more Christmas trees the better. Yes a class on sweaters. Love you two
Such stunning embroidery, so striking and your flower blanket is beautiful, just bursting with happiness and so pretty. You are both a delight as always, take care and keep sharing your joy 🧶🧵🌸
Hello You Two! another great sit and knit for a bit. I laughed out loud again! Arne and his Christmas trees, Carlos and his shock in finding out about 5 trees! You both made my day! Thank you again! Stay well, be safe and enjoy life! Cheers, Yvonne
I watched another podcast that said we shouldn’t be rushing to finish, we started this hobby because we like making . I try to enjoy the process now not race to finish. Though I’m weird because I enjoy sewing the tails in 😂I also lay squares out for blankets/ quilts then take a picture on my phone . Thank you for brightening the week as always 💕
“You can’t throw this stuff away, it’s plastic!” Arne, your virtue is ecological, and aestetic, and has filial piety, too! Wonderful. This is the best bit of video you two have EVER done!
Love the idea of a master class in basic sweater construction. I have discovered a book by Margaret Radcliffe titled, The Knowledgeable Knitter. It is fabulous for explaining how to customize for the perfect fit and so much more! It gives you the ‘how’ as well as the ‘why’. I think we are becoming too dependent on such specific instructions ( & UA-cam videos) for very specific projects, that we are often missing the development of those foundational skills and a deeper understanding of knitting that can be applied to many projects. The chat was fun! 💕
ARNE!!! That pillow stitching is sooo good. You did a great job; I love it. Wow, your new flat stitch pillow is really nice as well. I'm so glad you reply to people who hate on crochet. It was my first love and I think sometimes people don't want to understand it. I'm glad you are changing minds about crochet. Just like knitting, the more you do it, the better you are at it. I agree, DK is the best. I really love DK for colorwork, it's thick enough, but not too thick. Arne, I just love everything you knit your sweater is so good. :)
This was absolutely joyous. Carlos trying to stem the tide of Arne’s rescues made me laugh aloud. 5 trees and counting 😂 I think you are fighting a losing battle Carlos!
I love how the needlepoint turned out and saved project to boot. The starter must be smiling down on it. You have really given me the bug to learn to crochet so I can make granny squares like yours. I went and bought my first yarn and crochet hook yesterday ❤️
I agree with you about defending your crochet blankets and not being negative about it. If you didn't enjoy the process you would just buy something already made from the store. I love every step of crochet and knitting projects, including weaving in ends. Sometimes it's almost sad when an item is done except for all those WIPs waiting in line (and new projects to start!). Love what you did with the blind/dead/uninterested woman's needlework. It turned out amazing! The Christmas tree revelation was so funny.
Missed the live stream, but...... I laughed so much watching you two. I hard a really hard day teaching and you lifted my soul. I would love to see you two clean and decluttering a room. Thanks for the good laughs.
During the discussion about Christmas Trees I lost my stitch pattern count and had to TINK the row. I was laughing so hard!! Arne you are so funny and Carlos you are so patient!!
That's a good idea. Kate of The Last Homely House has several posts on her cleaning out her sewing drawers. Arne and Carlos cleaning a room would be hugely entertaining. Every item would spark a debate!
I would love to hear discussions after this Sit and Knit, on all thing couches and Christmas trees related. Can’t wait to see what Arne finds at his family house that he has stored away. Carlos, you can show us some of the dolls collected from your families travels.
When watching your discussion about the Christmas trees I was thinking I can't imagine if Arne would have been gone with covid and Carlos would have been home cleaning. Its possible Arne would still be in the hospital because he would of had a heart attack that all his treasures were gone! You two spark so much joy and laughter that I can't miss an episode!
The expressions on Carlos's face when he found out that not only were there 3 Christmas trees but actually 5 were just hysterical! "But I'm saving plastic from the environment!" "Yes, but could the trees not stay there, in your father's house??" "Out the door and back through the window" is a typical saying in Italian - most appropriate in this scenario. I would love a master class in designing your own sweater - yes! This is by far one of the best videos you have done so far; however, the 2 Norwegian princes fighting the natural elements in the chariot ranks pretty high too...
You guys are great. That "leftovers" sweater is just spectacular. I love to hear about what's going on in your part of the world as well as all your beautiful projects!
Sit and Knit a Bit with Arne and Carlos sparks joy to me! You both are so talented, creative and a hoot. Trudy looks good. I find that diluted liquid seaweed extract now and again perk up indoor and outdoor plants.
Love the two of you. I had an extremely long day at work and came home made a cup of tea and watched you both. Thanks for making my night. It was the best part of my day. Arne all of your projects are gorgeous. Thank you both.
Oh Carlos your expression of Arne’s revelation of 5 Christmas 🎄 trees not just trees but 5 sets of ornaments 5 sets of lights I love the vision of the greenhouse with Christmas tree 🤣😂
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This episode PURE GOLD! You gentleman truly enlighten my days. TIP for those overwhelmed with number of GRANNY squares.. break down in to sections i.e. 4, or 16, or 32... at a time. Little by little you then have entire project completed 😃
It's ok that you have not finished the jackets. My goodness life has been so busy. Best to be in a good mind set and calm environment before heading into a tailoring project. All the best with the fireplace floor renovations.
oh I would love a masterclass from Arne and Carlos. I have learnt so much already from you Arne how to improve my knitting (after nearly 60 years of knitting) and I'm always keen to learn more.
Such a delight to watch the banter between these two, they compliment one another so well. And crocheting your ends in as you go was a game changer for me !!
I just love you two! And Arne is a soul mate of mine. I love that you “rescue” all manner of things for later creative projects, and an obvious lover of all things Christmas!
Arne is such a fast knitter. I wish I was as proficient and confident in my knitting. I am amazed how he just starts to knit with no pattern. I am sure he was born with knitting needles in his hands.
Your knitting talent and designs are fascinating. My eyes keep going to your picture hanging behind you. You guys get along so well, nice to see. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
I love the crochet blanket! You are both so gifted. Loved the podcast today. I finally got my Regia Design Line Lofoten! I told my daughter I was going to knit for about 15 minutes and would come to visit, but an hour later she was wondering where I was. I told her, sorry...I'm on Norwegian time! 😂❤😘
I have several Christmas trees because I collected several themes of Christmas ornaments. I have one main tree, and then the other smaller trees scattered where I have room, and I have fun decorating them and seeing the ornaments, which I would have to wait a couple of years to be rotated if I only had one tree. (Even so, some have to wait their turn). Also, I love the dark blue crocheted borders for the mini granny squares, because they unify the multicolored blocks and give your eyes a place to rest. Your designs are always beautiful!
As usual you two are such a bright spot. I chuckled through the whole thing...especially at “that room gives me anxiety.” You sound just like me. I’m like Carlos, always wanting to “clean out” while my husband is much more attached and sentimental about things. And the whole Christmas tree discussion: 🤣
5 Christmas Trees! Sounds just about right! I haven't laughed this much for too long. Thanks for making my day so much better while I Sit and Knit for a bit.
I am inspired to attempt cleaning my sewing/knitting room, or at the least organize the chaos. We have friends that live in a lovely old Victorian-style house, and they put up as many as 11 Christmas trees throughout their home. Each tree has a theme. It is a lot of work, but it is beautiful. Thanks for another great episode. Cheers!
That’s a hoot! When they say ‘save the trees’, they’re talking about real trees, however, Arne is saving trees and keeping all that plastic out of the landfills so he’s still being environmentally friendly. Good job! I used to hate doing ends and sewing up knitted seams because it always looked messy. I’m a bit picky and want the backside of my work to look as good as the front. I was taught how to knit and crochet at an early age but not how to do the finishing up. It was daunting to have to tackle that mess. After years of experimenting, I finally learned how to do seams properly and weave in ends so they’d disappear into the fabric. I was practicing and accidentally wove in an end on the right side and I couldn’t see where it was. That was the day I stopped hating finishing up a project. I also try to do the ends as I go so there isn’t as much to do at the end. Oh, and I also can't stand watching the Kondo shows. I don't want anyone telling me what treasures they think should be tossed. I like my treasures. Thanks for another fun chat. Take care!
Arne the houndstooth pillow turned out fabulous. I love the hack with the granny squares to crochet and not sew. I have sewn in and it always makes the work you have done with the squares pull apart. So I would stay away from the granny squares due to the finishing of putting it together. I like the idea too of doing the squares because you are able to take it along on short periods of breaks in the day. I say a “no brainer”! What this am knitting the Norwegian way! Oh this is so relaxing. Please continue your creativity for some like myself that gives me confidence. I love you two very much with what you bring to your channel from creativity with your knitting, travels, cooking and seeing just your surroundings. I live in Maryland, but originally from Hawai’i. I was in the ARmy for 20 years and lived in Germany several times for periods of 3 years or a little more. I love Europe but never traveled there.
Retitle for today’s episode: True Confessions. While thought to be bringing home small items such as a dead lady’s needlework and Nancy Drew books, Carlos discovers Arne is smuggling in sofas and Christmas trees! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Arne, I’m with you! You look at the thing, and think...”I could use this to ...”. It almost has nothing to do with sparking joy, it has to do with a creative spark that objects, colors, and textures prompt. And then, every object has a little story. If I look at an object, I see the beginning of a story, and I want to keep it until I figure out what it might be, or have been. The present is rich with history.

Me too
So sorry to have missed this! My husband and I are packing up our things and moving to a new area!
Be careful Carlos. If you clean out, don’t bring the items to the charity shop, because Arne will find it and bring it back home.
😂🤗💖
Haha!!
You two spark joy! Thank you. We won’t throw you away .....
Pheww
‘That room gives me anxiety.’
‘5 Christmas trees?’
Arne’s face at the thought of your house being given the Kondo treatment!
PURE GOLD!!!!
😂😂
Yes! A Master class for knitting a sweater dependent on measurements
We need to start planning that!
The blind woman’s (😊) needlepoint pillow turned out so beautiful! The houndstooth background really makes it. I never would have thought of doing that. I love seeing what you two design.

Arne's sweater at 27:00 is absolutely, incredibly fabulous.
Thank you so much!

Maybe you should do a video series of you two decluttering a room. Or at least trying to anyway. Really loving the live streaming.
Carlos making a pile and Arne putting it back! Lol
😂😂

Thank you Tammy!
Oh Carlos your expression of Arne’s revelation of 5 Christmas 🎄 trees not just trees but 5 sets of ornaments 5 sets of lights I love the vision of the greenhouse with Christmas tree 🤣😂
😂😂
YES! Your practice of ignoring Helmer when you return is the right thing to do - bravo!
💖
I think so too, it was the only thing that worked with our demanding lady. She sits and waits patiently now.
Arne 💜🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Too funny!
😂
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This episode PURE GOLD! You gentleman truly enlighten my days.
TIP for those overwhelmed with number of GRANNY squares.. break down in to sections i.e. 4, or 16, or 32... at a time. Little by little you then have entire project completed 😃
That is a great tip, one bit at a time.
You have perfected the art of agreeing to disagree. A true skill!
Thank you!
It's ok that you have not finished the jackets. My goodness life has been so busy. Best to be in a good mind set and calm environment before heading into a tailoring project. All the best with the fireplace floor renovations.
Thank you for the encouragement!
Good luck Carlos😂😂😂😂. Love your shirt Carlos!
😂 Thank you!
Arne don’t change we love you as you are you to Carlos stay safe
Thank you Frances!
Oh my gosh you two! It’s like listening to my husband and myself talking about my crafting stuff tucked here and there. lol
😂
Thank you for this video. I enjoyed our visit today. Thank you for an enjoyable and informed visit. Enjoy your week!
Thank you for joining us Donna!
oh I would love a masterclass from Arne and Carlos. I have learnt so much already from you Arne how to improve my knitting (after nearly 60 years of knitting) and I'm always keen to learn more.
Thank you for your feedback Steph!
I'm like you Arne, I have lot's of things and they bring me joy. Minimalism is not my cup of tea.
💗
Marie Kondo lost me when she said "ideally don't have more than 10 books"! I have more than that *per room* :P
Such a delight to watch the banter between these two, they compliment one another so well. And crocheting your ends in as you go was a game changer for me !!
Good to hear!
Yes please on the master class
Thank you!
Yes please for the Masterclass on creating a sweater
Thank you!
I just love you two! And Arne is a soul mate of mine. I love that you “rescue” all manner of things for later creative projects, and an obvious lover of all things Christmas!
😍
I love this room/closet you are sitting in. The colors are so calming.
Thank you, it's our second floor landing.
Love you two. I smile the whole time you are talking. Laugh out loud at some things. Master class would be wonderful.
Love the space you are sitting in. The color the pictures everything about it. Can you show and tell more about this space.
This is our second floor landing.
Thanks again for a great catch up!
Thank you for joining!
Arne is such a fast knitter. I wish I was as proficient and confident in my knitting. I am amazed how he just starts to knit with no pattern. I am sure he was born with knitting needles in his hands.
Great sit and knit. Loved the space you were sitting in.
Thank you Elaine!
Your knitting talent and designs are fascinating. My eyes keep going to your picture hanging behind you. You guys get along so well, nice to see. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
JOY and Laughter when I watch your episodes, It is so awesome to see a couple that can be locked in the house during lockdown and not kill each other.
😂
I’d love the master class you mentioned about making or adapting patterns the old way. Thanks for another fun podcast! 🌸🌺💐
I loved the show Arne reminds me of me. Always finds things and want to reuse it . Just love it. .
Delightful podcast. 😊💕. Enjoy listening to you. Both
Thank you for joining!

Always so much fun to watch. Love that sweater. Thanks

Your house must be very Christmassy at Christmas!
The lacy scarf is so nice😊
Thank you for always sharing such joy and happiness- I always feel so good after watching you both😁
I feel the same way - everything sparks joy!!!
The way it should!
You two are so funny! Love your stories!
Thank you Stacey!

I could watch these podcasts for hours. Thankyou for letting us into your world.
You are welcome!
5 Christmas Trees! Sounds just about right! I haven't laughed this much for too long. Thanks for making my day so much better while I Sit and Knit for a bit.

I also try to do the ends as I go so there isn’t as much to do at the end. Oh, and I also can't stand watching the Kondo shows. I don't want anyone telling me what treasures they think should be tossed. I like my treasures. Thanks for another fun chat. Take care!

Oh my goodness, I had to laugh tears about the Christmas tree saga!
😂
Excellent show
Thank you!
😂😂 Loved this video! Many laughs, especially the 5 Xmas trees! Thank you both🙏
You are welcome!
I have been busy and got behind on my sit and knit and laugh for a bit! Have missed you guys!
We are glad that you're back!
Always fun and relaxing spending time with you all. The pillow you finished is superb Arne. Love it
Good to have you back Gail!
I loved the video but -- YOU TWO ARE AWESOME!
Thank you Maureen!
Such fun to sit with you both , thank you for sharing , love your house and home , like to see all the different rooms , please stay safe xxxx
You as well Georgina!
Great fun watching this one. I laughed aloud all by myself here! I too love “starting new UFO’s”. 😁
The start is always a lot more fun!
Retitle for today’s episode: True Confessions. While thought to be bringing home small items such as a dead lady’s needlework and Nancy Drew books, Carlos discovers Arne is smuggling in sofas and Christmas trees! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
That is a great title!

Arne, I’m with you! You look at the thing, and think...”I could use this to ...”.
