it's great that she did a clean out, but just a reminder for my friends who are also feeling fashionably-insuficent that this is actually still A LOT of clothes relative to the normal population!
it’s emma chamberlain if you expect someone rich and famous who is known for her aesthetic and fashion to not have a lot of clothes then your expectations are wrong
I'm genuinely shocked that so many people are expecting a 23 year old millionaire who is invited to fashion week, the Met Gala, is friends with the Kardashians and other celebrities, has 12 million subscribers, a successful podcast and business to be relatable. She is a wealthy public figure who has worked her way up to the point she is now and is being open about her experiences and reflections of her life, habits, downfalls, and personal value. This is literally her job so of course she has more clothes than you? She admits how gluttonous she was and at the end of the day, yes this being ~5% of her clothing items is incredibly un-relatable to YOU but so what? Why should she relate to you? Just be glad that she's improving herself. She will never be relatable anymore and will probably be out of touch at some points but you need to just accept that.
Yeah and its also like a lot of upper middle-class people who prioritize fashion and clothing have a lot of clothes as well. It’s about what you spend your money on. I do not see why everyone is so upset
Very grown, very chic, very demure wardrobe. It’s giving grown woman era. I had so much fun watching. I love her sense of humor. Y’all. Please remember that not everything needs to be relatable to be entertaining.
She is 23 goin on 24 - let’s all just be nice to her growing up in the public eye, just because she has self made enough money to have wealth - doesn’t mean you just bully a random person online - she’s still young and a delight and figuring it out - We are all just doing our best
Nobody is bullying her, at least from the comments I saw they're just poking fun at how she thinks it's a capsule wardrobe...you know, like a good companion would. There's no harm in that.
@@khyatiurfmayawhen someone who has talked openly about struggles from negative opinions online, and her deep struggles with addiction, anxiety and depression, it’s not all in fun. i think it not only shows a complete lack of empathy but a lack of self awareness from the very people who scream hypocrisy to go out and send internet hate
It just strikes me as so absurd that people come to an Emma Chamberlain video to vent their rage. Do they ever feel any joy at all? I guess whatever works, as long as they’re following through on their ideals with activism (beyond leaving UA-cam comments).
Maybe because lots of people are going through hard times financially right now... And they forgot that Emma isn't just some "normal" next-door-neighbor girl ~ she's actually really wealthy.
It’s because it destroys the illusion that she is relatable (which is something she’s trying hard to convey) and also because it shows her lack of self awareness. That being said, i still enjoyed the video and still am interested in her sense of fashion
totally agree - she can acknowledge her privilege without apologizing for it, we all know who she is now. she has been very upfront with her wealth without bragging. do you want her to fake authenticity and being poor???
@@mitchieee143actually more stuff goes to thrift stores, can be donated to homeless shelters women’s shelters etc.. you can personally go to those places to bring that stuff there. Stop spreading lies.. they are definitely in need of clothes

@@justinrojas3077 She didn’t really say much about the negative impact of overconsumption and proceeded to show of hundreds of items. Just because it’s basic minimalistic pieces doesn’t mean it’s minimalist.
I hope she keeps it up, it’s been a long time coming. As she’s gotten older I feel her habits around buying clothes has trended more this way and I hope it continues. It tracks with how we all eventually come to this conclusion with age.
she actually has made multiple podcasts episodes on this exact topic and experience so she probably did not want to be super repetitive but she is definitely talking about the negative effects of overconsumption.
she’s a fashion girl, i love this for her. this vibe is a dream to be able to have everything go together and be comfortable. this is inspiring me to do my closet clean out to make room for more clothes haha i truly relate to her style so much, simple, comfortable and sleep shirts..
"She is so unrelatable" well she never was lol I'm a mexican girl so her life was never relatable to me. I think she is iconic and she deserve her money and yeah ofc she has prada bc that's her job dude
I agree! I think she stopped being relatable a long time ago. What I do appreciate about her is that she hasn’t forced the idea of being relatable as she’s grown her income. I think she’s aware that she stopped being relatable a long time ago. I think she did well in setting up her business and her partnerships. She doesn’t do affiliates where she’s “linking” products to buy for a “discount” with her.
I don't understand why people feel the need to relate to everything a creator puts out in the world, not anybody in the world can be a complete mirror of you and get out of your head for a little while anyway, how else we would grow and evolve as a person if our particular experience was all we knew of the world
A model for Prada has multiple products of Prada in their own closest?! *Gasp* It’s almost like she has a career in fashion which would explain the greater than average amount of clothing a normal person would own.
I absolutely love this video! I didn't realize how much I missed her old thrifting content until that short intro. 🥺 It’s crazy to see some comments expressing shock over how many clothes she has-especially branded ones. Of course, someone in her position would have an incredible collection, especially since she works in fashion. Even smaller fashion creators have more stuff than her. I think some people have a hard time accepting that Emma has grown beyond her teenage years. And honestly, people are allowed to buy things they love! The focus of the video is really about investing in a capsule wardrobe that you truly love and know will stand the test of time, but it seems like some people are missing that point.
This is a reminder to be thoughtful when “decluttering”! Some clothing you might not like now but you’ll be really glad to still have it in a few years! Especially since the trends are leaning very minimal atm. I would recommend donating/selling the stuff that doesn’t fit and that you really don’t like, but the stuff you don’t like but don’t often wear can go in a bin in that back of your closet or under your bed! And then you can shop your old wardrobe in a year or a few months :)
yessssssss you're so right, I've been so grateful to myself ever since I started doing this. some things I've ended up deciding ok I'll probs never wear that again/that's not my style anymore, but most of it has been handy to have as back up especially clothes that are smaller and bigger sizes than what I am now (really handy for anyone who's weight fluctuates often too, keep those different sizes)
honestly, this is my favourite video that you've ever made!! People are giving you shit for having a lot of clothes but you're literally a youtuber and this is not excessive at all. I absolutely adored the rundown of your favs (everything you have!)
genuinely obsessed with this video. i love any fashion content on youtube and this was so entertaining to watch, beginning to end. thank you for blessing us!
This video came at such a strange time, because I got back into watching Emmas old videos where she would go shopping and had tons and tons of clothes, and I was starting to get insecure about my own wardrobe, because she had so many incredible pieces that I could never own. So her posting this right now is a fantastic reminder that clothes are just clothes. Wear what you want, and what makes you feel comfortable, and trends are just temporary. She highlights so many classic pieces that could be worn at any time with anything, and I really appreciate that. I dont think she will see this ofc but I love this video
i enjoyed this video and i enjoy emma so much too.. but at the same time there’s something so dystopian about watching it. when it got to the point of going through her shoes and her bags it really made me realize how unrelatable this whole video is. having multiple pairs of PRADA boots that basically look exactly the same is insane. most people can’t even afford to buy groceries. don’t get me wrong, i know she’s built her career for herself and i will always support her. it is just truly mind blowing seeing how the 1% gets to live.
Yeah, I kinda started to stray away from her channel when it became unrelatable. But this video is great. I love dressing like Emma and I like that. The chill-European-ish-French girl- style 🙌🫶
i really don't get comments like this. yes there are different classes in society, the lower, middle & upper - emma, by having a coffee company, a 12-million subcriber youtube channel& hundreds of brand deals - clearly is a rich person (as she should). then what is wrong with her spending n living within her means?
I don't think it's dystopian that there are people living different lives. No longer relatable is fine, it's okay for you to feel that way, but some people also seek escapism from everyday minutia
@@quynhanh3067 how is it okay to spend so much money on so many unnecessary things just because you earned that money?(first of all capitalism is an unfair system to survive and earn money in the first place) when you know that people JUST like you, all like with all the ways to feel, survive, live are living a below living standard. it could've EASILY been you. one of the reason why we normalize it is because we dream that we'll be able to be afford all this someday and WE want to be able to spend it the same way without any accountability/ question on our moral. is it so hard to be empathetic when the worst is staring you at your face? why is your money you can spend it however you like even a justifiable thing when we know everything literally affects everybody. you have to think deeper
I’ve truly always appreciated Emma’s sense of style. Her perspective on fashion always felt relative and real. Comfort is key at the end of the day and if what you wear makes you feel good…own it sis! It’s completely unnecessary but i fully support all 100 lives of your fashion journey!
Watching this video made me realise how much a person can give a diffferent vibe by only changing their clothing style. Maybe i am so used to watching you Emma in your fun and colorful clothes, your blue jeans and white shirt on a lazy day, your humoristic and energetic videos, that i cannot accept the fact that this is a true video of yours. I so want to say that this is not your style but i also think that it is just because we havent seen you enough in this light. I hope you will post more videos like this one with your new clothes or maybe a video where you tell us how you shop for yourself now 😄😁 Greetings ❤
As someone who struggled with overconsumption as a teen just like Emma was I can relate to this so much, feeling the need to own as many pieces and different kinds of clothes as possible (and makeup) to feel like I was “fashionable” or “trendy” when it did the exact opposite affect for me and made me feel lost and frustrated with my own closet and style. I’m 20 now and decided to deep clean that same closet a couple of months ago. It is so small now and the amount of stuff I got rid of made me feel shameful but I also felt really good knowing the self control I have now of not buying stuff I don’t need specially just because it’s trendy it popular now I buy (rarely) stuff that I know I’ll wear a lot until it’s rags. At the moment I just have in my closet my favorite pieces and stuff I have been wearing for years and still do and have always loved, never felt more proud of myself. If anyone is struggling know that it is hard but you’ll get to this point of normal consumption and self control and it’s the best feeling ever, thank you so much Emma for helping me realize this and encouraging me to do the same about my problem, take care everyone 💕
Jesus, people will always find problems EVERYWHERE. Some of the people criticizing her for not being a "true minimalist" or saying "there are people without food, and you have two pairs of similar Prada shoes!!!" are really just projecting. I’m not saying it’s wrong to feel the way some of you do-I get that it might not feel relatable-but honestly, this seems more about your way of thinking than hers. If you look at Emma throughout her career, she’s been nothing but a decent human being, trying to figure her shit out while growing up on camera, building a business on camera, and having people around her who both support her and also mock her for every little inconsistency or opinion they find worth pointing out. I’m not rich, I don’t have a ton of clothes, but I still really enjoy watching her talk about silhouettes and colors. I find it inspiring in my own way and def entertaining. She built this life on her own, and she deserves to live it on her own terms. Some of these people don’t need to feel so fucking threatened by her designer clothing. Stop acting like you’ve got your views so perfectly figured out that you need to lecture on what a “true minimalist” is or if her pieces are in your view "trendy". Let’s just enjoy Emma doing her thing. It's not that serious.
This is exactly what I wanted to comment!! We should all be so proud of Emma, not criticize her. Lotsssss of jealous & bitter people in this comment section, they are only projecting though 😌
I think for some people, me included, the expectations were just different to the reality haha. Like in the podcast it sounded like she only had a couple of items of clothing, like when she said she now has a, quote, „normal [person‘s] amount of clothing“ or when she said „1 black bag is really all you need“. That’s what I expected to see on this video and reality turned out quite differently lol. I think that’s why people are so „shocked“ (or even offended like you said). Cuz most people just associate something different when someone says they have a capsule wardrobe. Most people, I‘d assume or at least hope, are still happy for her, though, and proud of her for the life she built for herself, I don’t think that’s the issue :) Sorry if my English is a bit bad, it’s not my first language but I hope you can understand what i mean haha!
Its so funny for me to see how much she has changed. She has grown a lot. But have to say, this look is not my favorite. The colors are all so clay toned. ( i dont know how to explain it better). She still looks great and love that she is back on youtube!!
can we all just enjoy the content and not make a whole moral issue out of it? i’m just grateful emma posted and that montage in the beginning is a work of art

the hardest part is realizing the problem and you not only did that but you also fixed it. I m proud of you. I remember watching your videos and wanting to have the amount of clothes that you had because I liked how you played with them and with your outfits. Now, because of this video, I realise that is not ideal to have that many clothes and you better stick to what you really like and what really represents you. and guys don t come for her for still having too much clothes. these are not too much clothes for an influencer who has a passion for fashion and also for someone who has a lot of financial possibilities and good for her that she does. maybe nobody s gonna read this but I just felt like saying it:)
"I have a capsule wardrobe" proceeds to show me more tops than I have ever owned in my 19 years of existence in the next five minutes and then says that she never wore some of those pieces 💀
Yeah, honestly, she's just doing the classic influencer thing, which is to adopt the aesthetic of a subculture or group, completely superficially without actually living that lifestyle. This is definitely her just trying to adopt the minimalist aesthetic (which is on trend, so what is she really doing different) of having plain neutrals that are layerable and interchangeable. But the point of minimalism is that you have like 3 pairs of nice jeans and like 5 flattering tank tops etc etc. This is still so many clothes, and I understand that for her it might be a downsize, but you can't seriously look us in the eyes and be like "my capsule wardrobe 🫶". Meanwhile, it fills out your entire walk-in closet that is so big
@Andy_0017 also she gets to wear the most fancy clothes on the planet literally for free or even gets paid to represent them. I like Emma's development and her still doing better and better vlogs, but this is so similar to bestdressed who was all about dressing smart and thrifting and now she only wears luxury clothes and earns her money through...idk what honestly? They both build their own career to get to this point but it's really astounding how money and influence do change people's view on things.
@@Andy_0017 yes exactly, I wonder if all of these "class timeless staples" will be thrown out in 1-2 years because its not in trend anymore and also saying "I wear this all the time" to 500 different things made me wonder how often she was actually able to wear them and what her definition of all the time is compared to mine
@melgem2252 yeah I love Emma's videos, but she is not beating the echo chamberlain allegations with this one. It just feels like she wanted to reinvent her look to present as more mature and sleek, which is fine, but don't sit here and tell me "look how small my wardrobe is now". Trends in general have been starting to lean more towards this kind of simple normcore office look, and away from the more extravagant colors and shapes. So she's really just following the swing of what's in and what's out, and I agree especially for someone like her who is so involved in fashion, half of this stuff will never be worn in 2 years time
@@Andy_0017 so true. I wouldn’t mind if she did a video about a new style she found but to act like you have hindsight now and are above buying into trends is pointless. I understand most stuff was collected over years but it looks and sounds like she got a lot of pieces to match this new style that just happens to be sleek and simple. It’s just as much of a temporary trend as the bright trendy clothes she got rid of.
Omggg you’ve reminded me that I really wanted to find a perfect figure fitting boiler suit in denim or just washed out blue because of reading 1984 loll. I think a boiler suit isn’t flattering generally but the perfect fitting one yeah 👌🏻💙
Every time Emma posts I go into a loop of all her videos again it’s like when I suddenly hang out with my best friend constantly after months of not seeing them
I don’t even mean to be dramatic but this has been one of the most emotionally challenging days of my life and I REALLY needed you today. Thank you for giving me a whole hour of happiness! 😭
love emma, but this doesn’t look like a capsule wardrobe-this is A LOT of clothes! Then again, she’s a fashion influencer, so I guess it works if most of your income is based on the clothes you wear and style it differently.
My only comment is, I’ve done huge clothes clear outs when I’ve had a hair change and then went back to brown and nothing I’d kept when I was blonde, suited me when I was brown
I loooved this video emma ❤❤❤ thank you for sharing. I think you have really helped me play with fashion. Or at least you made me see that it can really be a playful activity. I love witnessing your journey and it made me think and reframe too. I feel like moderation is important but also reaching extremes is many times necessary in order to learn and see actually what is important for us. You owning so many clothes was maybe necessary for you to realize of what is really important to you, and go back to the essence. So cool that you finally found your style. It suits you soo well ❤❤❤
let this teach us that dressing like a cartoon character in the same, several outfits will actually bring us immense comfort and happiness to our lives
This is a great video. Entering my twenties and developing my frontal lobe has made me desperate to elevate my wardrobe. I'm holding on to too many things from when I was in high school and I'm just not that person anymore. It's so daunting to re-build a wardrobe and this video is great inspiration/a place to start. Thank you for growing up with me. Thank you for retaining your individuality and self-confidence in a time when it's so easy to sell out. YOU ROCKKKK
22:00 Most of the clothes in your wardrobe I'd associate with 60+ year olds, but like you said, this is NOT a negative thing! Wear what you love! I feel the same about older people wearing 'young' clothes - life's too short to care.
I’m on exactly this same wavelength in my fashion journey right now. “Shopping My Closet” has been my savior, as well as switching buttons and learning to hem by hand to Improve what you’ve Already Got ❤ i’ve never been happier with my closet
Emma, please sit with yourself and realize how this is so ironic. You have been a fashion icon for years now, overconsumption is at your core. Yes, you would thift, but you dont keep your clothes for longevity. This screams 'ill keep half of them for 6 months and the rest will flow in and out for a couple years till i have another fashion crisis and do the same thing all over again" DONATING CLOTHES ISNT THE BEST OPTION!!! 90% OF DONATED CLOTHING GOES TO LAND FILLS. PLEASE stop overconsumption and showing it off to the world!
The beginning gave me hope this was a thoughtful piece of content on fashion and overconsumption but I was hoping for too much 😅 couple mins in it just made me depressed bc her influence is soooooo large and widespread like she has the fashion girlies in a chokehold and I know they won’t see the bigger picture and try doing a clean out of their closet. Which is the last thing we and the earth need. A mass movement of donating clothes.
@@florriehutchison3817 go to clothing swaps! Give them to friends/family, sell them, consider keeping things you might like in a year or two. Sometimes you really need to get it out of your space so of course donating is an okay option but a lot of donations end up in the landfill pretty soon! (There’s no winning with our current system but some options are better than others)
7:19 it's so important to know yourself, your qualities, your body shape, the colors that match yourself better, so you know more easily what to buy or what to wear

This is still an insane amount of clothing and emblematic of a level of consumption most of us will never be privileged enough to enjoy. I'm glad this was a great experience for you, but this will never be relatable.
The urge to go through my entire closet at 2am right now. Great advice and approach to a very relatable struggle most everyone goes through at LEAST once a year

Ember, nice compliment for Emma, personally I remember if it wasn’t for her content during the , Shut Down , many would have had much more boring times.
@@arihart671 a quick google search would let you know that this doesn’t happen to the majority of clothes that are donated. I know you’re trying to be catty but this just lets me know there’s a lot for you to get educated about. maybe you could do some research :) there is a global crises rn and it has to do with overflowing landfills due to overconsumption. there’s too much stuff and nowhere to put it. this is happening in and out of the US. this isn’t so much about Emma’s singular donation of clothes but the impact a trend of donating your closet on the internet could have on this problem. It’s good to have conversations about these things especially in a space where a person of mass influence is involved. And to note there are already a lot of people in the comments sharing that they believe it is their turn to sweep out their closet and donate too.
unfortunately lots of donated clothes actually don’t end up on racks. and the point is really more that once the minimal trend is over people will go back to fast fashion in droves
She posted something yesterday or the day before about being sober right? And then she deleted it? I swear I saw it but I can’t find it now, but so happy for her.
I LOVED this video. This was one of the main reasons why I grew to love Emma's content-her emphasis on fashion. Her passion became my passion as my personal style grew alongside her own. Fashion is a HUGE part of Emma's life. Emma talking about clothes is what makes Emma Emma. Having this much clothing (and even more before clearing out her closet) doesn't surprise me. But this also doesn't mean I still find her content as "relatable" as it once was. As her popularity grew, so did her income. So, as I watch this video, I don't find every aspect still "relatable," but she's still Emma. I don't even own one piece of luxury clothing (no Prada to be found at my house!). This was slightly dystopian to watch from that perspective, but I don't think Emma's wealth is something she takes for granted. I think if you were to ask her, she would understand how slightly ridiculous the amount of things she still has is compared to the average American. I would assume she knows that. All you can do is hope she remembers where she came from and be happy for her success. 🫶
I was watching this video, enjoying it like I always do with Emma, but piece of clothing after piece of clothing I was watching and thinking: is this amount of clothing "less"????? I own like a third of it. at that point I was sulky, almost annoyed. however, if you think twice, if you really look at the actual world, as it is right now, with non-naive eyes, you'll understand that, for a person who works in fashion, who makes a living out of it, who attends lots of fashion shows and events, who literally earns money thanks to it, this is not too much. this is okay, this is adequate, with the opportunity, for every piece of clothing, of being essential and versatile. I appreciate Emma's effort in making the world a better place, she's trying her best for a woman in her early twenties with that amount of money. and the speech about the hamster wheel at the end, very nice of her. someone else, like we see in other videos around here and somewhere else, would not manage this money gracefully as she does. this video is a clever idea in my opinion, also for giving fashion advices to people who already own little clothes and still want to style them in a good way. emma must be understood, she's not for everyone
Noticed your style of video changed a few times but here your voice noticably feels like your podcast, you're talking like you're an anchor introducing an art show but without being uptight, love that Elocution on point
I've been binge-watching closet declutter videos the past couple days to hype me up for the next time I do my own closet declutter. This video came at the perfect time.
I was watching your old videos a few minutes ago. It’s crazy receiving a notification of a new video when I was wondering when you would upload anything again.
i personally don’t think that getting rid of a lot of clothes gets to the core of the problem. I think you could’ve easily rationalized the fact that you have cool pieces that you could alternate between/rewear. It really doesn’t matter how little clothes you have, or now simple they are, if you’re just going to rebuy more/get rid of more later on in life. All the clothes you had were probably cool as fuck, and I think learning to appreciate the craftsmanship and creativity within each of them could’ve helped you be happy with what you already had. You could’ve taken some of them to a tailor, or hired someone to rework them to be more wearable. I wonder what was the goal of this whole purge?
She told you what the goal was, to not feel like "a glutinous pig". That's a worthy af goal. Sure, one ends up buying again some things one purges, but less & less. She'll be more discerning, which feels really good.
It’s honestly a bit sad to see so many of the personality filled pieces that I followed Emma for go, in favour of an ocean of minimalist pieces. It feels like a phase to me that she will quickly get over and regret letting go of pieces that showed individuality. And to reiterate what others are saying, this is not a capsule wardrobe, these are more clothing articles than many of us will see in a lifetime. I love Emma, I just don’t like seeing her lose her spark and what makes her, her.
Yeah I was a bit disappointed to see the clothes she had kept.. I don't even think most of them looked good on her. And they were more "older woman" clothes, stuff my mom would literally wear. And that's okay, but I did think she might regret giving away all her more interesting clothes.. I get the feeling she's a bit lost style-wise, looking at these pieces she kept...
quick reminder that, even though she's shown us a lot of her life in the past, we do not know her and we do not get to decide what makes her, "her," or what her spark is. she's grown a lot and spent a lot of time away, and has gotten older and developed a more refined style. it's okay to be nostalgic of her old style, but to claim she's lost what makes her herself without even knowing her is quite the stretch and also very parasocial.
Emma the hair is incredible and the wardrobe focused on darker tones is a vibe, a good one, love that, im a french art student the same age as you and you'd fit right in my classes lol
That throwback intro made me realise how many good memories we have with Emma. It's so crazy (and honestly sad) how much time has passed.

@@eduqloo my bad, I didn't really know that about her. I mostly just follow her for entertainment.
It just strikes me as so absurd that people come to an Emma Chamberlain video to vent their rage.
Do they ever feel any joy at all? I guess whatever works, as long as they’re following through on their ideals with activism (beyond leaving UA-cam comments).
I don’t see why you guys are upset… she’s a fashion creator.. she has an upscale closet.. you knew what you were clicking on.

I really applaud you on this. I hope you continue to post on how overconsumption is negative
It tracks with how we all eventually come to this conclusion with age.
ur joking right
I still consider having 20 bags over consumption.
But I do appreciate her honesty in her podcast. I hope she keeps it up too
she actually has made multiple podcasts episodes on this exact topic and experience so she probably did not want to be super repetitive but she is definitely talking about the negative effects of overconsumption.

she’s a fashion girl, i love this for her. this vibe is a dream to be able to have everything go together and be comfortable. this is inspiring me to do my closet clean out to make room for more clothes haha i truly relate to her style so much, simple, comfortable and sleep shirts..
"She is so unrelatable" well she never was lol I'm a mexican girl so her life was never relatable to me. I think she is iconic and she deserve her money and yeah ofc she has prada bc that's her job dude
Exactly like why are people cribbing about being broke ☠️
I don't understand why people feel the need to relate to everything a creator puts out in the world, not anybody in the world can be a complete mirror of you and get out of your head for a little while anyway, how else we would grow and evolve as a person if our particular experience was all we knew of the world
This!
A model for Prada has multiple products of Prada in their own closest?! *Gasp*
It’s almost like she has a career in fashion which would explain the greater than average amount of clothing a normal person would own.

THE EDITING IN THE BEGINNING YES GIRL
I really recommend you guys getting a color analysis. That REALLY helped me to downsize my wardrobe to garments that actually suit me!
The queen is back yall
Yeah, this never works, it‘s just wasting space.
the beginning 🥲🥲 brings back sooo many memories
honestly, this is my favourite video that you've ever made!!
SAME
same. thoroughly enjoyed
This was after 95% was thrown away (her words). It’s really hard to watch this realising some people will measure their life to this
Yeah, I kinda started to stray away from her channel when it became unrelatable.
THANK YOUUUUU! its like children commenting those things with no clue or common sense with life
This is exactly what I wanted to comment!! We should all be so proud of Emma, not criticize her. Lotsssss of jealous & bitter people in this comment section, they are only projecting though 😌
👏👏👏👏👏
Yessss⭐️💗
Emma: I got rid of everything

Its so funny for me to see how much she has changed. She has grown a lot. But have to say, this look is not my favorite. The colors are all so clay toned. ( i dont know how to explain it better). She still looks great and love that she is back on youtube!!

the hardest part is realizing the problem and you not only did that but you also fixed it.
Speaking facts-we should be proud of Emma! Idk why ppl are so butthurt lol
emma’s wardrobe has gotten so mature over the years but it’s still so emma chamberlain?! i love how she stays true to herself
emma: I got rid of almost everything * proceeds to show you 48 bags *
i can't even imagine how enormous her old collection was 😂
"I have a capsule wardrobe" proceeds to show me more tops than I have ever owned in my 19 years of existence in the next five minutes and then says that she never wore some of those pieces
💀
It’s just as much of a temporary trend as the bright trendy clothes she got rid of.

these clothes arent going in the trash ...... they are going to other people. Thats like usually how people get rid of clothes. Common sense i fear

Gosh I love you girl- this form of content brought me back a few years
I LOVED this video.
I appreciate Emma's effort in making the world a better place, she's trying her best for a woman in her early twenties with that amount of money. and the speech about the hamster wheel at the end, very nice of her. someone else, like we see in other videos around here and somewhere else, would not manage this money gracefully as she does. this video is a clever idea in my opinion, also for giving fashion advices to people who already own little clothes and still want to style them in a good way.
emma must be understood, she's not for everyone
very well said 👏
0:28 i remember buying a black and white stripe mockneck shirt because of this video 😭😭
This just inspired me so much. What a treat, Emma thank you for sharing your closet!!!!!! 😊
Noticed your style of video changed a few times but here your voice noticably feels like your podcast, you're talking like you're an anchor introducing an art show but without being uptight, love that
Elocution on point
I've been binge-watching closet declutter videos the past couple days to hype me up for the next time I do my own closet declutter. This video came at the perfect time.
Yessss thank u for posting
I was watching your old videos a few minutes ago. It’s crazy receiving a notification of a new video when I was wondering when you would upload anything again.
i forgot about her haircut, i’m so in love with itttt. AND THE LONG VID 🎉
i personally don’t think that getting rid of a lot of clothes gets to the core of the problem.
She'll be more discerning, which feels really good.
emma we need to see you and your mom together once again YOU LOOK SO ALIKE WITH SHORT HAIR
OMGGG FINALLY WE MISSED YOU 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻NEW VIDEO 🫶🏻
Girl the haircut and clothing combo are making you look 60
girl miss emma is the definition of chic
And she looks great 💅 :b
I was looking for this comment. I understand the vibe she is going for but I personally don’t think it looks flattering. Just my opinion tho
what’s wrong with looking 60 🤷🏼♂️ i appreciate it
the haircut would've look so much better brown imo
I’m digging this hairstyle
I literally wouldn’t watch any one else do this IM SO ENTERTAINED BY YOUR CHARACTER AND ITS SO EFFORTLESS💓
I love Emma, I just don’t like seeing her lose her spark and what makes her, her.
agree so much! her new wardrobe is just so boring and sad
Yeah I was a bit disappointed to see the clothes she had kept.. I don't even think most of them looked good on her. And they were more "older woman" clothes, stuff my mom would literally wear. And that's okay, but I did think she might regret giving away all her more interesting clothes.. I get the feeling she's a bit lost style-wise, looking at these pieces she kept...
she literally says her closet overwhelmed her and she never wore any of it...y'all projecting
quick reminder that, even though she's shown us a lot of her life in the past, we do not know her and we do not get to decide what makes her, "her," or what her spark is. she's grown a lot and spent a lot of time away, and has gotten older and developed a more refined style. it's okay to be nostalgic of her old style, but to claim she's lost what makes her herself without even knowing her is quite the stretch and also very parasocial.
@@clovuhhhyeah i was about to say, i agreed somewhat..but saying she’s losing herself was insane 😭
emma’s once in a blue moon video!!! i look forward to this every… blue moon!
Emma the hair is incredible and the wardrobe focused on darker tones is a vibe, a good one, love that, im a french art student the same age as you and you'd fit right in my classes lol
