Definitely the Santa Fe side. I love black white but that doesn't matter - that wallpaper would keep me awake all night. If I'm going to stay in an antique train car, I don't want it modernized like that. The Santa Fe side, by contrast, was amazing.
I was born and raised in a railroad town which is now a city. The Ontario Northland Railway was established here to connect the south and the north. We are called the gateway to the north. The city was built by the railroad. Our museum is located in one of two old stations. We also have a 10,000 foot runway at our military base which was the home of an underground complex to protect North America from nuclear attack. Sadly it’s all gone now except the base. The complex was closed a few years ago when they moved it to the surface. The O.N.R. Is still here but struggles. I do miss the trains and the jets flying overhead. If and when I retire I plan to take the train across this beautiful country. Very much enjoy your videos.
I've been in love with trains for as long as I can remember. I took a few tourist-type train rides as a child, but I really started getting into them a few years ago when I started traveling by Amtrak. (Coach is great for short trips, but my next long trip will be in a private upgrade!) I've sought out train museums and even a train themed rest stop in Utah. and I build a tiny house in the shape of a stylized caboose. You two are living my dream life! Keep having fun!
This series is reminding me of my drive from Chicago to Anchorage when I went from Glacier-Waterton all the way up to Jasper and beyond. That was in August 1993. Thanks for bringing back some amazing memories. Love your channel.
Thanks for helping to keep me sane during the Covid-19 pandemic, seeing your travels around Canada has been a great help. Hope we will soon have Covid behind us and be able to travel again.
What a beautiful luxury. Definitely the Crystal suite. The other one is more drab. I'm not into the black and white wallpaper style, but it is so much brighter and cheerful.
I love trains. I’d be happy sleeping on some straw on the wood floor of an old timey boxcar, with hobos as roommates. Your accommodations were gorgeous. I have a slight preference for the Santa Fe decor, but I appreciate the elegance of the black and white theme in your suite. Glad you and your sister are having a blast. Enjoy! 🌟
Yes. Yes Yes. I would be so happy to stay on either side - both are beautifully done. I especially liked the bathroom in your suite. I'm enjoying these adventures and love your reactions of appreciation.
YAAASSSS!! I LOVE your train videos! This is amazing! Cranbrook is definitely on my bucket list for visiting now - the museum look great! I like both sides of the train, but I'd lean over to the Santa Fe car in preference. I can't believe you've already hit 200 comments within 24 hours! You're following is growing!
Loving your local exploration vlogs and so nice to see you enjoying making video with your sis. Not sure about the black and white wallpaper in that train carriage though! Ouch! Love your channel Mike. Matthew, Manchester. UK.
I actually rode on trains between Montreal-Toronto in the 1950s that had a Dinette car. my very 1st train ride by myself in 1955 was on a parlor car between Mtl-Ottawa with brass railing similar to the sleeping car . The train was actually hauled by one of the last steam engines in regular service. I still miss the Old Union Station in Ottawa right next to the Chateau Laurier Hotel where in 1964 I took "The Canadian" train to Vancouver.
Very cool! My preference is the Santa Fe railcar, but they are both great. I love it when something from the past is repurposed to be of use into the future. Particularly when it would have otherwise been abandoned to rot or dismantled for scrap!
Mike, This whole Covid19 thing hasn't diminished the quality and/or interest level of your UA-cam videos at all. They are as great as they've always been. Its always great to see that you've posted yet other one for us to watch. Thanks!!!
Another great one is the Red Caboose Motel in Strasburg Pa. plus you have the railroad right there to ride, model train museum and rail road museum of pa.
Mike, wow and wow! You did a good job of picking out a place to stay that is so unique and I got to say the crystal car is better. Thank you for sharing
Great rooms! I would go for the Santa Fe, the crystal palace is a bit too over the top. The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake in NY has a Pullman built car like a small house for rail travel. It is totally mahogany paneling snd furniture with nickel plated hardware. That was very nice and definitely stylish in the day. I would travel in it today! Thank you for the video!
I like the look of both but prefer the comfort and "shock and awe" effect of the Crystal suite! I'm loving these railroading/train vlogs, Mike! You've got a real, true blue fan in me 🙂👍
Wow an other unique place to stay in. You mange to find some great places and always good to know especially for visitors from Europe. They would love places like this. Thanks Mike Cheers
@@DownieLive I am glad you have that kind of luck Really enjoy the quality of your videos and the way you present them, You have a great talent for that Mike
Several years ago I got to stay in a converted railroad car. It was in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Near where the old train station was. Unfortunately the property fell into disrepair and the Hotel closed down. As far as I know all the rail cars were scraped. The hotel did a nice job making the cars into hotel rooms but they were all done in a modern style and did not try to express the feel of an old luxury train car. I was sorry to see it fail but at the time Wilkes-Barre was a more depressed city than it is today. I would consider staying in a converted train car again if I found one in an area were I was traveling.
Mike -I love the whole black and white design so I'd do your pick. -We're cruisers but thinking a driving "cruise" is going to be in our future and I think Canada is beautiful! Keep it up!
Mike, Jess, YOU ARE KILLING ME!!!!! To know that place is like that and it is only a 4 hour drive from my house. They need to open the border soon. I would stay in either side. Both look amazing. Great video!!!!!! Keep them coming!
Hi Mike, Thanks for sharing! Our style would be the Sante Fe room. I see from comments below the Chattanooga Cho Cho Hotel. We have been to Chattanooga multiple times, walked past the cars (rooms) but have not had the opportunity to stay there. Maybe next visit! Keep up the Great work!
The hotel room in the train cart is incredibly beautiful. The relationship between you and your sister is so wonderful to see.
I’d want to stay in the Santa Fe. The authenticity factor does it for me.
THANK YOU! For actually getting the population right! Everyone always says "Small town with only 19,000 people".
The Santa Fe room looked like my cup of tea! I think having a bathtub on a train is absolutely wild!
Definitely the crystal car.
The crystal car is stunning. Makes me want both and turn the Santa Fe into a kitchen, living room. What fun! Such a good brother.
Crystal suite all the way! But both are awesome.
What a fun way to preserve and put a spin on history
I thought that about the rooms but I would go Santa Fe room
Definitely the Santa Fe side. I love black white but that doesn't matter - that wallpaper would keep me awake all night. If I'm going to stay in an antique train car, I don't want it modernized like that. The Santa Fe side, by contrast, was amazing.
Love Mike's energy in all his videos. So enthusiastic about everything!
Right on! Thanks Todd!
The gentleness of the room walking through right beside us...💖

Full of Sunshine and a smile for one and all...💖
When the pandemic is over, you need to go to Chattanooga, TN and stay at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel which has several railcar suites.
There’s one in Strasburg, PA which has over 30 caboose’s to stay in. Red Caboose Motel
This series is reminding me of my drive from Chicago to Anchorage when I went from Glacier-Waterton all the way up to Jasper and beyond. That was in August 1993. Thanks for bringing back some amazing memories. Love your channel.
Mike you’re awesome!
Thanks Steven! You’re awesome!!!
Crystal for sure. I loved the black and white tile in the bathroom and the headboard. Yes, I would love to stay there. Thanks Michael.
For me, the Santa Fe looks fabulous. The crystal was very nice and laid out but I love the Vintage Santa Fe. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Cranbrook is one of my favorite towns. Surrounded by beautiful mountains.
Love his positivity!!!
Thanks Bryan!
Definitely the Crystal suite. Cool experience.
Definitely the crystal side!!
Definitely the Chrystal one for me, even so the wallpaper would drive me nutz
The crystal One is beautiful😊
I would stay there in a heartbeat! So cool.
I like them both for different reasons one is luxurious, and the other is vintage. What a great place to go.
You had me at the title, "Train Hotel." Who would not want to stay here? Awesome!
Thanks for helping to keep me sane during the Covid-19 pandemic, seeing your travels around Canada has been a great help. Hope we will soon have Covid behind us and be able to travel again.
Thank you for sharing the rich culture and unique history of small cities of Canada! Always learn new things from your new videos. Good job, Mike!

I love our railroad history. It's super to see older coaches being used as hotel rooms! You guys are staying in true style. Hope you enjoy!
I agree! Thanks James!
The Retro feeling is good. You are on good terms with Jess.Double good.
What a wonderful brother😊
"Mike this is insane!" Luv luv luv Jess's reaction. 💞
The best!!
Loved the Crystal room ❤ You guys find such cool adventures!
Yes. Yes Yes. I would be so happy to stay on either side - both are beautifully done. I especially liked the bathroom in your suite.
I'm enjoying these adventures and love your reactions of appreciation.
Thanks Pete!

Hey mike. I did the interior work. An amazing experience turning that car in to what it is now. Glad you enjoyed it.
What?! Really? Very cool!

I hope to ride the Canadian for the first time soon.
I took my mom to stay in a rail car for one of her birthdays in Tennessee and she loved it. Trains are fun.
Very cool! My preference is the Santa Fe railcar, but they are both great. I love it when something from the past is repurposed to be of use into the future. Particularly when it would have otherwise been abandoned to rot or dismantled for scrap!

Wow, thanks!
Love watching your videos! Learn a lot, have fun traveling with you. Calm energy, I appreciate that!
I wanna stay where ever Jess wants to stay, what an Angel. 🥰
I grew up in a train town (Cumberland, Maryland) and I LOVE your enthusiasm for trains!
Being a Railfan, I'd stay in either. They both looked pretty cool.
Stay in “The Red Caboose Motel” in Pennsylvania!
I would love the Santa Fe room!
Holy cow.... The woman actually listens to you. Congratulations.
Another great installment; looks like a great place to stay.
His sister is awesome; she needs to be in more episodes!
You definitely made the right choice IMO. That suite looks fantastic!!!
And, oh yeah, I'd definitely stay there, no question 👍🏻👍🏻
The station was the Elko station in the Crowsnet Pass. It was moved to Cranbrook for preservation.
Another great one is the Red Caboose Motel in Strasburg Pa. plus you have the railroad right there to ride, model train museum and rail road museum of pa.
I’ll have to check it out!
Phenomenal! The train is amazing!
Wow!
These beautiful places that you get to experience and share with the rest of us........
Thank you D.
We have a similar hotel in Chattanooga Tennessee. Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel.
That’s a fun hotel to stay in
I live there too!! Sadly they are removing more and more history of the station. Makes me sick
Yes!! I just moved from Chattanooga
Wow...what a place!!!!
Liked both trains. Have fun and stay safe. 🤠
So love the trains and train heritage information! But, that backdrop of mountains is stunning! Thanks for sharing, Mike. ❤️❤️❤️
Mike, wow and wow! You did a good job of picking out a place to stay that is so unique and I got to say the crystal car is better. Thank you for sharing
I totally agree with you, Carl!
Thanks Mike. Great tour! Put me down for the Santa Fe!
Crystal. Can’t wait to stay there ourselves
An interesting idea of making a hotel room inside the train and it would be fine to travel in such rooms one day :)
Santa Fe. Nice and warm.
Great find! The train rooms look awesome. I would not have expected this in BC.

This is soooo awesome!!
My 6.5 year old is super into trains and your channel is giving me the best road trip ideas from Vancouver island for next summer!
OMG YES!!!
Nice job!
That is really nice👍
I'd stay in the crystal room! I live in Texas so the rustic side is like everything here in Fort Worth. Lol!
Wow! I would stay in either side! I am so enjoying your videos! Thanks so much for sharing!
This is fantastic! Way more fancier than what I was expecting!
Right?!!! So impressive!
There is something like that also in the railway museum in Smiths Falls, Ontario. A friend of mine works there...
It would be cool if they played the sounds of an old train in there. Personally I would go for the Santa Fe.
That is awesome! Good choice!
I like the look of both but prefer the comfort and "shock and awe" effect of the Crystal suite! I'm loving these railroading/train vlogs, Mike! You've got a real, true blue fan in me 🙂👍
Alright Kevin! I love that! Thanks
@@DownieLive And I enjoy your sister Jess' personality, as well!
She’s great. I’m glad you like her
Now I've added Cranbrook to my travel radar because of that train hotel!
The Crystal Suite of course, Mike.
I’m loving these “local” trips! My wife loves the crystal suite, I prefer the other one. However, both are very nicely done.
Glad you like them!
I go for the rustic feel of the Santa Fe. I liked your room too.
Wow an other unique place to stay in. You mange to find some great places and always good to know especially for visitors from Europe. They would love places like this. Thanks Mike Cheers
Haha, thanks Bill.
I just get lucky, I guess 🤷🏼♂️😄
@@DownieLive I am glad you have that kind of luck Really enjoy the quality of your videos and the way you present them, You have a great talent for that Mike
That was awesome .i like both .
Good job
Keep them coming.
Can’t wait to show you around our neck of the woods.
One day!

Liked 'em both, but I'll have to say the Sante Fe.
Amazing vid mike and Jess....such an honest video...👌🏼👌🏼
Pretty cool, Mike. I'd pick the crystal as you did because it's so unique.
Yes Joy!
I so need this...FLorida teacher here!! We all need to be spoiled!
The Santa Fe. The wallpaper in the Crystal Car would make me nervous!
Hahaha
Crystal Suite all the way! haha
Mike -I love the whole black and white design so I'd do your pick. -We're cruisers but thinking a driving "cruise" is going to be in our future and I think Canada is beautiful! Keep it up!
Very cool!! Santa Fe for me. Keep up the great work.
So cool. Great room and in a train no less.
oh man, i love all your videos
Nice video! 0:50 you caught a extremely rare train which is pretty funny
Crystal Suite 👍🏻 ... because it looks “lighter” not so dark/dingy feeling.
Great Video Mike. It’s great to see your beautiful country. Tell Jess Hello. Stay Safe and God Bless You and your family.
Thank you, I will
Mike, Jess, YOU ARE KILLING ME!!!!! To know that place is like that and it is only a 4 hour drive from my house. They need to open the border soon. I would stay in either side. Both look amazing. Great video!!!!!! Keep them coming!
