I had an xmax250 2007 bought to commute on. Easy cruise at 70mph. Went to spain on it several times. Biggest bonus is belt drive and big assed seat. Belt change at 12000 miles. My honda 125s needed chain off every 6 months when commuting even with chain guard. I would only ever have a belt drive commuter. Ride and leave, never once had front caliper seize either contrary to honda 125s.true 365 days vehicle which will also do long distance. I have commuted on small bikes for 47 yrs and the extra cc’s from 125 make it safer in traffic. I think you need to own one over a period of time to appreciate their complete use ability. Very easy maintenance too. Seat up, inner out and everything to hand, easy valve adjustment the lot. The negative is their price new. Could never replace my motorcycle but to commute and as a workhouse nowt can beat them imo. If you are older and hate chains, try one. My 250 only ever did 65mpg which went up to 75 after I changed the variator weights for longer gearing and less acceleration which I barely noticed. From the traffic lights twist and go’s are quite surprising and quite addictive. Fab review

Good honest review you took the scooter for what it was which is refreshing. I normally ride a honda x11 but I'm finding I'm riding my wife's burgman 400 more and more took it up to snowdonia the other weekend from Bristol arrived chilled and with a flask under the seat .Like you said I'm lucky to have a choice of both cheers john

I just took delivery of the 2024 model of the Forza 350, and it’s awesome! Quite an improvement on my original Forza 300 of 2015. The CVT is much improved and very smooth, and the ABS is much better in operation and isn’t obtrusive. Comfortable and swift, it shares the garage with my two Royal Enfield 350’s!

That’s a cracking review and I’ve seen pretty much every one in English on YT. It’s convinced me to get one now. Wasn’t sure whether to go PCX 125 (would I be happy enough and go for something a bit more compact) but there’s no substitute for the extra horses. Great job, cheers.

I am fast approaching retirement and as a previous Burgman 400 owner (8 years) I love scooters. I sold my Burgman 2 years ago and have a hankering for another scooter when retired, this machine seems to tick all the boxes. I too am approaching retirement (September next year - can't wait!) and I have had two Burgman 400s followed by a Sym Maxsym 600 (like a Burgman 400 on steroids!) First thing I will do is get shot of the car and get a scooter. Probably a Forza 350. With a top box.

Thanks Lofty, very useful review, I´m hoping to get a decent trade in for my Guzzi V7 (in Motril, Spain), and buy a Forza 350 any day now.
The tarmac here seems to me to be less grippy than in Yorkshire, I suspect the chippings are softer than granite, and things get rather smooth. Some of the sharper corners get a regular wash with diesel -- all in all, a slower vehicle with a lower centre of gravity seems a good choice at my advanced age.

@@GS-xg4nz Yes, I. was extremely pleased, though I can´t remember actual figures.
The Guzzi was seven years old, and I got roughly half the purchase price, from Honda at Salobreña. They may sell the velcro strap for the rear brake lever which acts as a handbrake and is an essential item. The wind blew the scooter off it´s side stand the night I left it off ! Otherwise it´s a great machine -- no regrets, so good luck.

I always poo-poo'd scooters. But I bought a BMW C400GT last month & it's bloody fantastic! I didn't test ride the Honda, but perhaps I should've done, but the Beemer is outstanding! Dealers are chocka-block to have my 600 mile service done though; they're quoting me 3 weeks?! Nightmare! Anyway, to all those who're disrespectful to modern scooters ought to ride one before they're disparaging towards them ;) P.S. Handy review, brave in a sense. I'd hate to go out being barely able to turn the handle bars. Sat on one at a Honda dealer and with the handle bars touching my knees it was a straight nope. Also sat on a BMW C400x, far better. I'm 6'7 and love scooters too, but there's no need for them to be cramped. Not everyone is between 5'7 and.6'1.

@@theloftybiker3090 That might be true but in the UK also, scooters are probably the most popular two wheelers. Thankfully we have European manufacturers like Piaggio and BMW whose products (despite often being made in Asia) don't exclusively cater for shorter people. I've got nothing against shorter people but it's generally easier to lower a saddle than it is to raise a seat, screen and suspension. If bicycles can cater for multiple body types, perhaps motorbikes can too.

@@brettwicks2615 yes I did Brett. There’s not much between them in performance (the forza seems better 0 - 60, while the Xmax has slightly better top speed)
I had a close look at how practical each would be to do your own maintenance (after warranty).
To access the battery - on the xmax the front fairing has to come off! On the forza a couple of screws releases a battery lid under the seat (no need to remove the seat.
To access the spark plug - on the xmax the seat needs to be removed whereas on the fora there’s a small ‘trap door on the side panel which gives handy access to the spark plug.
For an oil/ filter change, the Xmax is awkward- easier access to the forza’s oil filter and drain plug.
The screen is fixed on xmax (manually adjustable via some screws) on the forza the screen is electrically adjustable to any position from a rocker switch on the handler.
I’ve found the automatic screen super useful. Normally I prefer it in its lower position but in rainy or very cold conditions I move it to its high position for better wind/ rain protection.
I have put just over 2000 miles on the forza so far and I’m delighted with it.
