    Hello everyone! While there might not be an exact method to plug in the charger to battery then the power source, I prefer to plug into the battery first, then the power source. Reverse the steps when battery is charged. I highly suggest NOT turning on the bike while IT IS actively charging!!! Keep safe, everyone:) Peace.

    Great advice... as a new owner of the Lectric Trike XP, I am glad I saw this, as there are no "this first, this 2nd" instructions to be had. Cheers~

    To the person that experienced this problem I really hope it wasn't something serious! I do thank you for bringing this to my attention so I could make a quick video and hopefully other people can avoid a similar problem while charging their battery.

    The box my charger came in(Wuxi DPower Electronics), has a user manual that says:
    1) Connect the connector pin of battery case firstly, and then the alternating current power supply. (I believe this means plug the bike in first, and the plug into the outlet, then attach the ac brick to the cord fron the outlet)
    2. Red is charging, Green is fully charged
    3. When the batteries are fully charged(green light on), unplug the connector pin of ac power supply firstly, and then that of battery case. (So unplug the brick from the outlet cord, then unplug the bike)
    I believe this is to prevent damage from short circuit or arching since the safest place for unplugging to happen while the charger is connected to power is the part that attaches the brick/ac power supply to the cord plugged into the outlet.
    But Lectric's website says to simply plug the charger into the bike to start charging and to simply discinnect when done charging, while also mentioning that the charger is "smart" and prevents overcharging. Im not sure how much it really matters and I'm not sure I am personally too concerned enough to take the extra steps. 😂

      I always plug into the battery first, then plug into the AC outlet. When disconnecting I unplug from AC first, then unplug the cord from battery port.

      I don't usually fully charge unless I'm going on a long ride. I charge to about 85% most of the time. I heard that this makes the battery life last longer.

      if you have an open access point to plug your battery in while inside the frame or on the bike, then you do not need to remove the battery. Make sure the battery is turned off before you charge it and DO NOT turn the bike on while it is charging, okay.

      Make sure the connections are solid. If it keeps doing that then STOP charging and consult Lectric as it might be your charger or battery. This could be an unsafe situation if the battery or charger is defective.

    • @cal4625
      @cal4625 Рік тому

      If your concerned about the voltage just unplug the charger from the bike, switch on the key and check the voltage on the display. If you're charging the battery out of the bike use a multimeter and check the voltage at the battery terminals. It ain't rocket science.
