Cantis look cool. I’m glad that you made them work. But I just use V-brakes. I can make them work. Shimano T4000. Cheap, strong.
Thats a bad ass bike man GREAT work
Love this but you didn’t mention the fenders! They really set it off with the complete commuter vibe.
Best part was when the beat matched perfectly at 11:54 lol nice ride
This look DOPE. NICE JOB
Generally beautiful. Very good combination of orange and purple over all black which looks mint. It was the best half hour of UA-cam I've ever seen.
Really good build, very nice bike. But friction shifting...never fails, always in tune.
Very well put together the orange and purple on all black looks mint.
Been missing the build videos. Really glad you’ve got more coming up. Thanks as always for the amazing inspiration.
Bike looks great well done!
This is my favorite build you’ve done really tasteful
Oh, and ahh, slippers are the perfect bike building footwear! Build looks great, not too much colour
Oh damn that rear brake yoke is really original niiice 👍
ASTRA crown cap!! That's sustainable: "Drink beer and protect your screw"
I have that microshift 1x10 setup too but I have the thumb shifter and run it friction mode and love it that way. Might be a work around if you can’t get the hanger straightened out.
super build and even better editing 👌
Daaaaaang!
Finally a new build!!
My dude, you really need a third hand tool. Especially for setting your cantis. Literally life changing.
That "brake booster" is so cool though, I think I want to try that out!
👍 for the use of correct tools
Great looking bike.
This would be the perfect bike for me❤ great job 💪 i especially like the mudguards. They are important for everyone who drives every day, but hard to find a pair that fits the style so well.
thats a really cool bike nice build👍
I love it Craig!
I really like what you did with the various anodized bits. It added some nice color contrast with the black frame. This past summer I found an old Trek 800 Multitrack frame on garbage day. I've been thinking about doing a similar build with that bike.
I have an old Trek 800 - love it - Good luck with your build!
Sweet ride
It is a brake hanger for the rear. You need a threaded barrel adjuster typically used on 80's road calipers. The adjuster allows cable tension & a stiffer brake bridge.
Beautiful bike
That thing is sweet!
Bulky Boys Bike Club for the win!
Mate that basket looks sick. Gidday from Aus.
Since your fork has ISO mounts I'm surprised you didn't do disc brakes in the front.
I vote blue, red, or purple for the Bulky Boys Bike Club sticker.
I had one of those when they came out.
This build was soon fun to see. I loved the pizza now I want one
great channel love your content keep it up
Heatgun makes removing decals super easy :)
Im beginning to see a trend among RHCP fans now, they like fixing stuff, & have cats, \m/
Nice build cantis are awesome once set up right i picked up a bike in japan with cantis serviced it changed up the brake levers and love cantis ......the praying mantis of brakes lol
I really want one of those manivelle bags
Nice!
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 🙏🏼
Bulky boy bike club stickers in blue please mate
Advent X or bust!!!
Awesome build! What are your fenders? They fit the gravel kings so nice.
Would love to See you try the schort krank life :) at yoursize maybe some 155mm ones. Really makes riding amazingly comfortable
Gone 165mm recently and my knees don't hurt anymore,
Good advice short cranks preserve your body!
Siiiiiiiiiick as fuuuuu
Cheers from Brazil
I pop a barrel adjuster in the mount on the seat stays
Super Nice video. Thanks. What is the brand of the fork again? Merci beaucoup
Another great build, but can you show us more about that crazy cantilever brake booster? I've found them for sale, but only in the UK (i'm in the US), but i would love to see how it works, in action. Not riding, mind you, but just a few squeezes of the lever while the camera is fixed on the rear brake?
Sticker in baby blue would be bought.
Mate, Dunkin Donuts called, they want their primary colors back.
But srsly, this build is so practical parts-wise. I'll look this up in the future if I scrounge up enough dough for a similar build like this.
Nice build. Did you use the B screw setting gauge that comes with the derailleur? I have found the AdventX easy to set up using it.
Great build as always!
A question for you:
Where do you buy the cable hangers, the regular steerer mounted and this new one you used?
Can you share some links with international shipping?
I always struggle to find ones
Cheers!
Great build and vid. Do let us know how the Turbo seat stands up to the Charge.
there’s a spoon on it for the overview at the end so i’m guessing not too well
Could you do some more explaining when your building, like why you were using the spacers ect. Think this might help for people that are not quite as knowledgeable in building.
Did the longer straddle compromise the front brake performance?
Nice video. I'm picking up a Moonrun this weekend. A lot of original fixtures and fittings are already there so I may keep it. (Front derailleur gang keeping it high) but you've done a nice build. What were the head set bits you hammered in, the anodised ones. Savd old bikes 🎉
NICE! The headset was unbranded on eBay. Seems pretty good so far 🤞🏼
Healthy!
I'd like a Bulky boys in purple
Yes Raleigh moon run! Crashed my uncles one in the 90s whilst trying to put my feet on the cross bar. Awkward convo followed 😬
amazing fork! was that included ?
Decals are far easier to remove with a heat gun or hair dryer
Hi there, loving your videos. I have a feeling this could be my new obsession and I’m looking to do my first bike, I’m 6 foot two and would normally have a 19 inch frame but there is an 18 inch that come up locally to me. I’m just wondering if you have extreme raised bars in some form or another does that mean you can get away with a smaller frame and a higher seat, saddle and bars?
more info on the purple seat clamp pls
What were the wheels on this build?
Im looking to convert an old 7 speed bike to 10/11 speed and im wondering if yhere are any pre built 26" wheels out there that anyone woild recommend before i build some myself.
Got a link for the basket?
what mudguards are those?
I'm in the middle of a 26" retro-build myself and on the fence whether to ditch the idea completely. Really wanna go 1x but a custom wheel build to fit a 26'r is beginning to feel ludicrous. The lynchpin to all this... I want XTR shifting to my 3x drivetrain; or any drivetrain and retain my existing wheel set.
Anyone's 2-cents?
what are this mud guard ?
Raleigh Moonrun was my first proper mountain bike 🚲 n the 90's. I still have it although in a very sorry state and keep saying I want to get it up and running. I can't bring myself to get rid of it.
Do you have a link for the saddle please ?
Bike looks great. The brakes look like a avid shorty 4 copy. So does the brakes still working good?
In no way are the Tektro Oynx Avid Shorty 4 copies. The Oynx are pure junk. The absolute worse non-post mount cantilever brakes in existence. (Cane Creek's are just rebranded Oynx). The Avid Shorty 4 are in another league.
There's no way the front brakes perform well like that with such a small angle in the cables
which fork did you use?
1 1/8 fork on that frame? Im surprised it accepted such a standard, has it come with 1 1/8 threaded fork originally?
What happened to the turbo saddle?
I'm sorry. what was the name of the french brand fork? great video! Edit: Atelier Medium. got it
Can you build a folding bike?
wtf astra :D
Silver or Purple! for sticker
Pink sticker
if it works is it really the wrong tool ?
Have a weird question but do you have a harbor freight out there in the UK?
Hey, i would like to build a Commuter Bike of a retro MTB Frame. What Frame Size should I buy? My hight is 177cm. I found a 17" Frame and now I am not sure if its fits fpr my Height. Thank you to everyone who can answer my Question.
Dude, what is the proper name of that Tektro thingy? I've spent 10 minutes searching for it now and nothing!
Tektro Power Hanger, model N1269A
Can u gimme the name of rust conventor pls ? 😅
Do you think that 11-46 with a 32 is a good option on a 26 Mtb? All the information that I found is allways for 29. My other option could be 11-51 Deore 11 spd but I think is to much range. Thanks!
The orange crank thing is indeed too much, it look kinda cheap i think...
Has anyone heard of a Raleigh Moonrun? 🤨
I haven’t. I found trace of one more on the internet. That’s it! 🤷🏻♂️
I had one
Hey man,
Do the f*****g sticker in turquoise.
Cheers man.
I wanted to try the Oryx on my Cinelli Hobootleg... I think I might now. X
Peace 🕊️
Those Tektro Oynx cantilever brakes are *pure junk*. The absolute worse non-post mount cantilever brakes in existence. Note, Cane Creek's are just rebranded Oynx. The Oynx wont stay in adjustment and when they do, the breaking power is so much lesser than other offerings. Avid shorties or Shimano CX50/70 are *so* much better.
