  • An updated WFH day in the life as a Sustainability Assistant Manager! I’ve been able to pivot my career from consulting to entering an industry I’m more interested in which is the consumer products space. I hope this video can shine some light on what goes on in the background when it comes to products we buy on the daily.
    Until next time,
    Tyanna

    I found your channel last night and I’m so glad I did! I recently graduated with a degree in environmental science and I realized being an actual environmental scientist wasn’t the career I envisioned for myself. I’ve always been interested in sustainability and I am hoping to apply your tips to my own job search!

    I studied a lot of frameworks in grad school but I think GRI and SASB are new to me. Thank you for giving some background info on the companies that use this!

      Of course, thanks for stopping by to watch :) Curious to know which frameworks you focused on while in school

      Hey! if you don't mind me asking, which course did you do and grad school did you do study from? I was intending to do my masters to get into the sustainability field ( i have an accounting and finance major in undergrad ).

    I was introduced to the concept of sustainability reporting frameworks late last year, and I didn't even know they were a thing (even though I studied environmental science for as long as I can remember haha). It all seems so interesting now, I just wish I took more classes on corporate sustainability back during grad school. :(

      Aww don't worry about it! I didn't learn it while doing environmental science in school either but more so in my job!

    Hey Tyanna! Love love love this channel. It is so helpful in learning what the day-to-day of a sustainability professional can be like. I'm wondering: do you think your Bachelor in Environmental Science has been integral in your preparedness for the job roles you've undertaken or do you think that, say a bio. major, with a Master's in a sustainability area, can make you competitive enough in the field?

    • @TyannaBui
      @TyannaBui  Рік тому +1

      Hi Laura, great question! Of course my BS in ES prepared me for my first job, but through the course of my work, that's what helped prep me for future jobs. If you're able to apply your skills from bio to sustainability then that should be good starting point in the industry.

    completely random..but due corporation usually provide laptops to their employees? I just graduated and wondering if I should bother purchasing a laptop if most of my work will be taking place on their systems

      Yes they do. But now in the context of problems with the supply chain especially in electronics, it may take some time to get a new one or you will get a used one.

      Not just corporates but all full time jobs should give you a laptop, always! This might be different if you’re contracted but definitely always the in-house employees

    Hey Wt Salary One should expect After Completing their Masters Strait Forward?

    • @TyannaBui
      @TyannaBui  Рік тому +1

      depends on the industry and size of company you end up getting hired for. My recommendation is to look on LinkedIn for jobs who's states have to post the salary (e.g., California, Washington) and convert the dollars to your state/country.
