I've been offered a very nice role at a pretty big entertainment/tech company on a graduate scheme which goes into a full time job after 7 months(training and everything). The role starts next year which I am super excited about but the one thing I regret is not negotiating the salary when I got the call with the job offer. I didn't apply to too many companies by that time and I just felt super lucky and blessed to land a pretty nice relatively well-paying job (especially at my age) and got super excited and just said yes to the offer with no negotiation especially because I was of the notion that they would revoke my offer if I ask for a pay increase. What I was told however is after the graduate scheme is over and you convert into a full time rule, there is a salary increase so I hope to show the company my worth and ask for a nice pay rise after those 7 months though! Wish me luck everyone :D
Hello from Russia. I used to live in US. While these salaries are high, the taxes and living expenses eat it up. Living in usa is very expensive. Average nice house around there is probably over a million. In any case, I much prefer to live in Europe. But european salaries are nowhere near those amounts
Privet brat! I agree with you. Could you share more details though about the salaries in Europe for software engineering? Details like, name of country, base, stocks and bonus I think taxes in Europe are almost as high as in the US. Cost of living is also quite high, depending on where you live in the Europe
@@truthteller8965 for example, you can rent a nice place in moscow for about $600 per month, same place in NY would be $3500. You can live fairly well on just $1500 per month or even less

FYI, for those wondering, starting salary for new grads has now been moved up to $118k salary, $130,000k stock vested over 4 years, and a $50k bonus due to inflation :)
I literally work in a hospital saving lives every day working in the ICU and ER and make 1/4th the amount these people are. I'm glad you guys chose the right profession just wish I had...
something has to be done in the medical business/service/dedication worldwide. People pay billions and doctors are worn out. Something is not working somewhere.
Are you a CNA, nurse, or doctor? I think doctors make more than $100K after residency and all that… nurses have OK salaries specially if they do overtime, I know a traveling nurse who makes $3K/week and the hospital pays for his living expenses too. So I think nurses and doctors in the US definitely make a decent living.
so it seems the TC in Seattle / Redmond is lower than the TC in Silicon Valley, where people may say the TC is like $300k or $350k... but then, a two bedroom apartment here is like $3800 per month... so if it is $2500 a month in Seattle / Redmond, together with the price of other things lower, I guess that makes up for it.
If this is true, this may possibly be racially motivated (or I suppose technically it could have been justified as less experience than the typical new hire). I wonder if Daetri could have sued for discrimination or - for example, the less experience thing - there would have been insufficient grounds.
I’m watching this as I’m sitting on an offer! I don’t think base is something thats also negotiable but I’ll try to fight for the stock and the signing bonus if I can!
These salaries don't mean nothing without the context of the cost of living in that area. What I really want to know is what percentage of your monthly income goes towards rent?
Seattle to put it in perspective is less expensive than SF but more expensive than LA. It would rank third in the US for how expensive cost of living is after SF and NY.
No doubt Mrs Sophia Lisa trading Services is very good, I invested $5,000 and cashed out $14,700 after 3 weeks. I still wonder how they get their analysis
Maybe I'm the odd one out - but I've had offers rescinded twice before after trying to negotiate. Competitive roles will go to the candidate willing to accept the lowest lol
I believe there may be a correction in compensation coming. These comp levels for entry level are what 95%+ of companies out there pay at the sr level.
Doubt a correction is coming. That’s what companies want you to think so you stay in place and don’t switch for more. I left my first software engineering job after 2 years for a 40% raise. One year later I’m again interviewing and seeing comp numbers anywhere from 25%-100% higher.
There’s no doubt these salaries are able to provide a nice disposable income. But you must also factor in the cost of living for the area their office is located. High salaries in the Bay Area and NYC seem nice until you see the average cost of rent and food.
@@tomkingston4203 this is in Seattle. Expensive but one full tier below ny and sf. Either way 150k tech jobs have been lost in 60 days. On our way to 1 million by end of next year. Correction is here.
Would have been cool to share the current numbers post rewards with the public. Maybe folks were talking about their comp including this years merit increases, but it seems that it may not be the case.
"Interviewing and working are completely different skills". 💯 How are companies even hiring good employees, when all they are looking for is whether the candidate can solve a certain kind of problem?

I prefer a higher base salary. Monthly bills don’t wait for bonuses at the end of the year that may or may not be what you expect. And also a one time signing bonus is nice. But again one time.
a higher base salary always correlates to seniority at your company. Most people could negotiate higher signing bonuses or slightly higher stock options but a higher base salary can only be offered with right amount of qualifications with competing offers from other companies
I want to inspire all the IT men out there since I, as a software engineer, have been loving my profession in tech. In addition to having a well-paying profession, my strategic investing plans have allowed me to purchase my third home, supporting my retirement goals.
Wow, interesting indeed! Currently I'm in need of investment ideas or tips. Earlier this year I hesitated and failed to take any action until now. However, I'm determined to try something new as I am very open to various investment ideas . I want to be retired in my forties or fifties. I really wish I can achieve what you have achieved and I believe it will happen
It's essential to comprehend the complexities of investing. Having a trustworthy support system, such as a financial adviser, who can advise you is crucial, especially when choosing assets.
Generally, investing requires higher knowledge. For this reason, it's important to have a solid support structure to guide you through especially in asset picking. I operate with (Alex martin tarlor) an investment specialist who partners with a licensed wealth management firm. For the record, his experience has been the best for my finance
Tip: Don’t ask for a raise and try to get them to give you more money. If you feel like you’re being paid unfairly compared to others in your field find another job that will pay you that. Makes your life much easier with HR and less likely to be laid off.
I am looking forward to this. I have been an apprenticeship for 3 years, in a variety of IT fields (web development, security, IT Service, technical writing, project management). But during all those successful projects, I still only make $15 an hour, about $28,000 to $29,000 a year. I hope once a have a couple programming languages down, maybe I can get out of the apprenticeship and make a good income. It’s been a dream to make the salary’s these people your interviewing make. Being a JR for 3 years, even though I have done a few months of IT management in the mix of all the projects, and I am still a Junior in all the career fields I helped complete projects in. I want that software engineer dream job. I will keep using every opportunity I get, to get there someday.
Honestly you have alot of knowledge dont be afraid to check your worth and apply to jobs, trust the worst thing they could say is no and you will learn things in interviews that maybe you didn't know that will help you out in the future. Think of it as improving your social skills
forget about learning 10 programming languages or knowing what clean architecture or MVVM MVC bullshit is. Just work for people who have money and leave the others alone. Dont work for poor people (if you want money), that's my understanding.
I work a fulltime job n web dev. and one freelance job on the side for about $25 an hour plus another small side hustle building simple websites on weekends. I have very good people skills but you must be doing something else wrong here man. it's not about learning more. i'm willing to bet you know twice as much as me about programming. I sadly don't think the solution here is to just STUDY more and learn more languages.
Well I have some good news. I should be increasing my income from $29,000 to $75,000/$90,000 in August this year. My current cyber security project loves me. They are planning to fly me out for specialized training this spring, hire me by the end of my contract this fall, and use my Management, Development, and PAM skills soon after, as they feel they are currently underutilizing my skills. It’s a great company, wonderful team, and I have been happy with them during these past 5 months. This has been my most promising project yet. The future looks good, August should be when all my years of work pays off. I am excited.
I would be curious to know what the salaries are for the marketing and sales teams. I would love to work in tech, but all my experience is in sales, communication and marketing. I know nothing about coding. I was wondering if it's possible to break in to these salaries in a non-dev/coding position?
Yes there are other roles that are not technical and you can also make great money. Like product management, customer success manager, sales etc. some are starting at 6 figure salaries depending on the company
i know people who work in sales for certain tech companies that make about double what the fulltime engineers make on the same time, however its more comission based. But if you're good at sales then you should stick with it instead of switching to coding where you don't know if you'll be good or not imo
Social skills definitely take precedence over all else. Doesn't matter how skilled you are in programming. This actually applies to all industries. I would even say it correlates with your income.
Hahaha I bought a real microphone and it didnt come in in time so I had to resort to this. It actually worked out really well and now I dont even want the microphone haha

Have u got job in Microsoft? What qualifications did they really look for? I have completed associate degree in business administration! Looking for positions at Microsoft! Please help me out!
Thank you this was such a great video. I just started my career in software engineering ❤and I love it…
150K per year thats alot. I don't know how high the living costs are per month but its alot of income.
Details like, name of country, base, stocks and bonus
I think taxes in Europe are almost as high as in the US. Cost of living is also quite high, depending on where you live in the Europe
@@truthteller8965 for example, you can rent a nice place in moscow for about $600 per month, same place in NY would be $3500. You can live fairly well on just $1500 per month or even less

Software engineer: New Grads fresh off college: 112k + bonus
Project Manager: 120k + bonus
Software Engineer 2: 170k (with promotions)
All bonuses are from 25k to 50k negotiable, also you get stocks in microsoft
FYI, for those wondering, starting salary for new grads has now been moved up to $118k salary, $130,000k stock vested over 4 years, and a $50k bonus due to inflation :)
Damn 😍
Can you apply to ms from Africa like Ethiopia?
Did the bonus range shift up too? Like 50k - 75k?
Sr. Manager, 10yr experience @ 35years old, base salary $205k, $40k bonus, $110k stock, TC $355k.
Is that monthly or a year?
It really worked for me after I look and try some tutorials, yours is the one that worked. Owe you a lot.

Wait till you hear Amazon/Meta MS grad salaries: 350-400K
@@papulrocks794 what is MS grad?
so it seems the TC in Seattle / Redmond is lower than the TC in Silicon Valley, where people may say the TC is like $300k or $350k... but then, a two bedroom apartment here is like $3800 per month... so if it is $2500 a month in Seattle / Redmond, together with the price of other things lower, I guess that makes up for it.
Shame on the team for low balling Datri when the typical new hire gets 115-118k
If this is true, this may possibly be racially motivated (or I suppose technically it could have been justified as less experience than the typical new hire). I wonder if Daetri could have sued for discrimination or - for example, the less experience thing - there would have been insufficient grounds.
@@ZhangK71 Agreed and a good observation

I am speechless of how much many these people make with just a job
This video was dope Jason good stuff dude
These salaries don't mean nothing without the context of the cost of living in that area. What I really want to know is what percentage of your monthly income goes towards rent?
Rent in Seattle goes for around 2k. Plus or minus 500 depending on where you live and how many roommates you have
~200k in any city except NYC and SF is a lot.
Seattle to put it in perspective is less expensive than SF but more expensive than LA. It would rank third in the US for how expensive cost of living is after SF and NY.
@@kevinchang5082
2K is a lot anywhere including NY and SF
Pay discrimination is quite evident here. Looks like Microsoft needs to do something about pay equity.

One year later I’m again interviewing and seeing comp numbers anywhere from 25%-100% higher.
it depends where you live. These salaries are standard.
Next time I’ll ask this too
"Interviewing and working are completely different skills". 💯 How are companies even hiring good employees, when all they are looking for is whether the candidate can solve a certain kind of problem?
Lol, it's rad to see Gonzo on here, I met him in 2018 while I was in the Microsoft New Technologist program, small world!

I was shocked so many people used to intern. If it’s any consolation, I did not intern here so my channel already has my advice to that affect

The amount of incompetent people that i have seen get hired because they are good interviewees but terrible workers is more than my fingers and toes combined. 😂

Thanks for the advice but it's hard to get a trustworthy financial advisor here..can you recommend one?
Generally, investing requires higher knowledge. For this reason, it's important to have a solid support structure to guide you through especially in asset picking. I interned here this summer! I thank God, it was a great exp
I sadly don't think the solution here is to just STUDY more and learn more languages.
you need to apply to at least 5 jobs every single day. I can guarantee you in 3 months you will get a better paying job than that
Well I have some good news.

I was wondering if it's possible to break in to these salaries in a non-dev/coding position?
just go spam their official emails till they hire you, that's how it worked for me, but at another company
