Why need to say this. People love this game too, many haters didn't even played the game. The pay to win aspect is just on the PVP side and the PVE is absolutely free. Most haters only have PVE content on their game and they're still paying for it.

Been loving watching you play POE. This was a fun watch too! I never touched Immortal, so it's nice seeing what the game is actually like. If you're looking for other ARPG's to try, I highly recommend Torchlight II!

Small correction, Baal corrupted the worldstone in d2 lod and tyrael destroyed it, which subsequently destroyed mount harrogath. it wasn't mephisto. also charsi was in d2 and afaik had no relatives that were mentioned there. kadala from d3 is the daughter of gheed, found in d2
Charsi is the smithy in this game at Westmarch. The timeline of immortal is somewhere in between D2LOD and D3

started playing diablo 3, diablo immortal and PoE since i started watching your videos and im loving it. Keep the good work up. I play Immortal F2P and its actually the game i play the most. Currently im at Paragon lvl 650 with my necromancer. I enjoyed the Campaign but the lategame is a little bit lame :/ but i had my fun with it. Would love to see u play through the Story and explain all the connections to D2 & D3 aaaaand a final Impression of yours :)

I love these gameplays you make on other games. I'd never touch DI but to be fair, now i saw your gameplay, if i knew, i'd travel for couple hours by some public transport, i might download it on my phone to kill some time.
Up voting this because i like your content was rough, not gonna lie. If you want another good arpg to try you should do Grim Dawn on PC. Game is great and i think youd enjoy yourself on it fully. Also curious to see you react to the new PoE league announcment that just happened 11/30/23 as i write this. Youll get to see what a real season looks like lol.
I've played Immortal off and on since launch. I don't hate it, but I don't love it, either. I dislike the plethora of microtransactions, but I can easily ignore them since I only do story content and I'm not looking to climb the leaderboards.
Some of the locations are cool (I'm particularly fond of Mt. Zavain), and I like the fact that you get to go into the past at one point to experience a pivotal moment in the lore. I have mixed feelings about the overall story, though. If you decide to play more, I'd be interested to hear what you think of it.
I have played this game since close to launch. I did take a break for a few months, but have returned. It's a great time killer. You can for sure be a lot stronger in PVP and make things easier in PVE, but you can be completely free to play and still do every bit on content besides high end Rite of Exile stuff.
I recall playing Diablo immortal months ago. The story is good. But it does feel more of paying for power because it felt like in order to get more legendaries than usual, one would have to pay with actual money for more stuff.
Would like to see you try torchlight it’s similar to poe in terms of how you build I played as a joke but i honestly didn’t mind it.

Would be curious to see you try Undecember after the Dec. 7th update (3rd season launch) as there are quite a bit of updates. Most importantly the loot pick up pet will be now free. Its also a mobile/PC game like Diablo Immortal.

Been playing the game since Feb2023 and just getting the battlepass per month. I'm doing good and having fun even in pvp, it's a bit balanced nowadays and event rewards gave me the premium crests to try and get higher gems. It takes time to build characters for low spender but it's fun still

Started playing it on Jan 27th 2024 mainly cuz it was on mobile so I could play it anywhere. So far I'm enjoying it except the PvP ofc cuz the main PvP bg is fully p2w there's no balancing there. There are some limited PvP events where everyone's gears and stuff are balanced so at least those are nice. Even in PvE it does get harder to get stronger as you level up more and more. After you reach paragon level the only way to get big CR rating jump is through the gems which needs a long grind unless you spend money. I'm on inf4 30k ish rating, paragon 1182 (server paragon is 1190 right now) after about 3 weeks of playing completely F2P. I did all dailies, weeklies and events not missing a single thing since I started playing so there's that. You either gotta do a lot of grinding or skip the grind using money but at least nothing is exclusive to paid players and everyone can obtain everything in the game except for paid skins. For a mobile game I'd say I like it except for the p2w part. It's definitely not meant to be a side game so people who have access to other Diablos should just stick to them. It is a mmo so it is supposed to be grindy. I mean ig you can also just play for the story. I don't think the main story is hard but you can make it harder by switching to a higher difficulty eventually. You gotta do the quest until a certain point in normal difficulty but after that it's all up to you. I mean they force you out of normal difficulty so it's not an option for the mq anymore after you complete that quest.
I did grow up with mobile games so that's probably why I don't mind some of the mobile stuff. I grew up poor so I'm kinda used to stuff being bad I guess lol.
Also loved the video! Gonna check out your other videos. I'm not familiar with the lore of Diablo so I'd love to learn more.

The cinematic and story is good on this game imo
ive been playing since launch and still enjoying it. the P2W aspect only really applies in the pvp battlefield and the rewards for that are just things that you can grind.

Diablo immortal was my first diablo game though i do hate the overprice/greedy stuffs i still like everything else about the game. And when they say price will attach to cosmetic only in D4 i was overjoyed to have a great game and able to support buying cosmetics but i never saw the massive disappointment and water down version of what D4 was progression(as far gems and gear) waterdown , exotics waterdown(most exotic will complete change how the skill function in DI), and MMO water down(no party finder system with a on and off feature)
You said something about diablo not being in the game. he is. he actually makes an appearance in the story and theres actually more story coming soon where we have to try to find a sword to help stave him off. so yeah the story and lore are actually really good.
I play and have a Dark Night level 1048 with 25k700 ic. I'm not pw and you can raise the level well without paying.
Charsi is not in D3 but she is definitely in D2 the most famous black smith of em all. :) And also during the time you recorded this the voice acting on all NPC and Cutscenes are incomplete but now everything is put together in place. Sadly the game has become even more greedier than it has ever been.
played on release, liked the gameplay / combat. hated everything else basically and stopped at paragon 15 or so cause i felt likebi couldnt progress without being a millionair
This is an underrated game in my opinion. The monetization obviously sucks, but as a f2p player I've had lots of fun in this game. This is the first arpg I've ever played and I think it's good for a gateway arpg.
I played diablo immortal fairly daily for about 3 months and had fan i just stopped playing because it was too big and switched to undecember

The game is good overall but there’s 1 Major Issue with this game it’s the Extreme P2W mechanism You’ve to spend money later on in the game to max out your combat rating from being Capped in order to play New Difficulty (I’m personally talking about Inferno 1 And 2)
I put in... A good 2-3 months on launch actually. And It... It upsets me more that I think it has a tighter loop than D4 because it has well all of its netease baggage. Genuinely just by having Rifts, it was a more engaging title than D4. I made it to level 7 day 1 season 1 and because I did so much of the grind before the Doomsday Kill All The Eternal Realm Toons Powerlevel Literal Worst Patch In ARPG History that I couldnt possibly be bothered when it added, Really, Literally nothing to the game to make the reset to 0 worth tolerating.
So I played the game basically from start pretty hardcore. The game have lots of good content. If it was not p2w and for Pc it would be one of the best arpg... But the fact it is p2w ruined it

That being said, I'm personally not a fan of Diablo Immortal because I know what the devs are trying to do with the game and what they are trying to get our of players
As some who has played a lot of Diablo Immortal ( I’m at paragon 1115) and who has also played a lot of Diablo 4 I wanted to just share a simple summary of Diablo Immortal. In general Diablo Immortal PVP is 100% pay-to-win. PVP in general is largely founded on the concept of resonance and you will have a bad time trying to fight the whales in this game if you do not spend some $$$. And given that eventually you’ll see a good amount of PVP in this game this is a P2W situation here. However PVE in Diablo Immortal is 100% free. Everything PVE in this game (from owf, to dungeons, to bounties, to raids, to gauntlet, etc) is locked behind Combat Rating and Paragon levels. Both of which is 100% farmable in-game for free. Combat Rating for example is largely due to gear and set gear which are all farmable in-game without paying. You also cannot buy gear but you can buy legendary gems which increase your resonance. So in short if you want to PVP in Diablo Immortal you are shit out of luck (you will at least need to spend some money or be ready for a longgggg grind) but if you’re just here for PVE this game is 100% doable for free.
Is the lore really respected? One of the first villains is trying to get the power of Leoric, a dude that was important in the backstory of Diablo 1 but ingame you barely fought him in an optional sidequest that didn't even spawn in all playthroughs, who Diablo 2 didn't bring up again because he was pretty much irrelevant after his death...and now he's just there in his mansion or something, with so much power that other villains want to control him? Even when Diablo 3 already brought him back just because? I know the blood countess or whatever her name is, a completely unimportant sidequest character from Diablo 2 is also in this one, with her own little dungeon and plot, again just because. With these, and all the characters from previous Diablos, it doesn't feel like the lore is being respected very much. It feels like they're just milking the nostalgia with no actual regard for making their renewed appearances make sense beyond tasteless cameos.
My husband and i really enjoy Diablo Immortal. PVP is very pay to win but everything else isnt.

@@NyxVellum We are very low spenders. Battle pass and buying echoing dawn to awaken gems.
Our resonance is below 2k each and even with being shadows we will be in the top 20 shadow clans on our server.
The game also changes quite a bit when you get to the higher Paragon levels.
It really reminds me of a cross between Diablo and WoW.
Also in a couple weeks we are getting pets. Lol
@@NyxVellum Also I wanted to add that there are difficulty levels once you reach paragon levels. There is Hell I through Hell VIII and then it jumps to Inferno I to Inferno III.
With the pets update I believe Inferno III is being released.
I'm Paragon 1050 with combat rating 24,500 and am definitely not close to the top PVE players.
There is a lot group aimed playing. Which I love. Clans, warbands, doing find party for everything. Finding a party for hidden lairs can be tricky but it's still a lot of fun.
The monetization in this game is just obscenely disgusting and immediately made me uninstall it.
i would rather watch a series in diablo than playing it if its a chill game..

You should play for the campaign. Seems immortal is tying together d2 and d3. You will probably fight diablo in immortal. You stopped too soon.
The thing with Diablo Immortal and the reason I think it's so damn hated is because at least to me .. the gameplay was truly enjoyable .. but the constant, relentless pop-ups urging me to BUY THIS or GET THIS NOW! when I'm just trying to play the game .. or the other mobile crap drove me away .. TL: Infinite does mobile ARPGs right.

I am only BP Spender in D.I. Able to reach the top 15 in Battleground before currently on top 27 in our server. ROE I agree is p2w, so I leave that to high spenders. The rest of the game is just fine.
Some quick notes that I'm sure will be repeated by other commenters: There are indeed difficulty levels, and will show up eventually. There are something like 25 different currencies in the game. It gets less on rails further in, but that doesn't equate to "less repetitive". The game quality is pretty top tier, but so is the monetization. You CAN progress quite nicely without spending a dime, and definitely beat the game, but you'll be weak.

This game drops off when the story is over, around lv60. This entire story is the tutorial and takes 8hr or less (one day). The rest is 1000+ paragon levels,boss grinding and p2w PvP. You get a fraction of the game for free, in terms of what gear you can access. It does hang difficulty scaling, but virtually all of it is after the campaign. Then you just redo daily dungeons to fill up the battle pass (which also has a "premium" tier). It's a compulsory cycle that goes ultimately nowhere, or consumes your life with trying to grind your time against the wallets of others. It's not a time = money thing, money is much more effective.
It was something to do while sick in bed (literally), but eventually made me feel overwhelmed with artificial limitations designed to impel one to spend money (and a lot of it). Even weeks of grinding cannot get you into upper echelons of power, it is *impossible* without spending, and at that point it's rather a lot of spending. Obscene when you actually do the math. I uninstalled the game. Baby's first Diablo is about the highest praise you can give it. The story is a greatest hits album shoehorned into what is basically a tutorial for a convoluted p2w gacha game. As a long time Diablo fan, it hurts my soul. This kind of thing is accepted in gaming now. Infinitely more profitable, the motivation exists for it to become the actual standard. It's tragic.
You’re absolutely correct, but you have to realize that the only P2W aspect is essentially PVP. Everything else (which is 95% of the game) is grindable. In fact, I hit 2.5k reso in a year of playing without even spending. The game is good for a mobile game and people hate to admit it. Of course, the gambling mechanics are atrocious, but without whales we wouldn’t be getting a game that has more updates than D4.

There is a video from Josh Strife Hayes that has an in-depth look into the pay mechanics of the game and there is some really scummy tactics being used. Granted this was from launch, so I am unsure of that has been changed but it doesn't look like it. Anecdotally the game is alright until around level 50 where it really starts pushing you to paid methods of power to progress at a reasonable rate and I just can't support how manipulative the systems are. There is line between generating income and gross exploitation, and this does a whole ass Barbarian Leap firmly over it.
Ok you want to hear what i think - I think this game is a disgrace on a face of ARPG. I tried it, hated it and i don't even think about it.
I played all diablo from 1 to 4 and to be honest and it sad to say Diablo Immortal is the best series.
The Campain is very easy to do, you will finish it fast (because server paragon is around 1040, so you have a lot of boost to catch up field) but its not a heart of the game.
The heart is End Game and this huge.
Game will receive soon the 20 major patch in this year and it will be bigger than upcoming Vesal of Hatred.
The key of Immortal isnt speed runs and reach lvl100, the key is to upg your character (better gear better gems, etc) and you have a lot of combinations in items:
1. Over 50set items
2. Over 500 legendaries
3. Legendary gems and normal gem which could be awake and upg to lvl10
4. You upg your gear to lvl 30
5. You upg legendary essences
6. You have a lot of crafting, set items, gems, item famili bonuses, cursed atributes ( yes you have cursed gear and royal gear)
And what keep all playets in game is clan and pvp concept:
You have around 20 different pvp mechanics.
To summarize its free to play pve, p2w only appear at pvp but if you are regular f2p you can have fun in 90% of pvp (i dont care when i loose against whale, i open another match and have fun :)

I believe you have not review the game correctly since Diablo Immortal will really begin after paragon 60. The game are awesome (if you put the P2W aspect) and myself and friends have been playing it forever. Good way in finding friends and need more intelligent to play. There are so many hidden aspect to win the game, so if you did not see it then you will surely hate it. Warband, Shadow, Immortal and more make this game alive and more more fun. The next update with pets will make it more interesting. Anyway if you have not play in full (after paragon 60) then you did not play the game. New comers please try to play and reach 60 first. Then the world of Diablo Immortal will open up.
P.S. A friend of mind have not spend a dime of the game and he is practically almost equal to my character. So, if you say you can only have fun if you pay then you ego is too strong hahahahaha.
I love the game but I play as holy knight and it's great level 60 is your max level and then you move onto paragon levels
