Unpopular opinion but I love the blue UI. I think it looks nicer than any colour replacements
I agree, except I do like the grey... But blue is the second best for me. Some kids make it pink or orange and for me it's too much 🤣

for a long while i used the sakura UI, but recently went back to the og blue UI. the pink was fun and super cute but blue is the best imo!

Another mod that has become indispensable for me is Nraas Traveller. The ability to travel to other installed worlds the way you travel to vacation destinations and Sims University is a huge bonus. Plus I think it reduces the risk of corruption when you travel.
i dont use it to travel, but i still have it in my game... exactly like you said, it helps reduce the likelihood of corruption/crashes when travelling
With me that mod doesn't work properly. It erases all the family relationships. And when returns, remain erased.
it will make your Saves file 3x times bigger. from 31MB can go to 900MB
@@beesasa Your comment is kind of old now, but that is just because of the amount of data it adds to your save file to have multiple worlds loaded. Traveling using world adventures will also add a lot of data to your save. It's not a fault of the mod, its just how loading more worlds works.
I had no idea that people hated the Blue UI. I'm perfectly happy with it
it's kinda a small fix, but Buzzler's scribbling pad is a piece of cc I highly recommend, because I like playing as a writer, but it's completely out of the question if your sim hates/doesn't want to use electronics. The scribbling pad works like a notebook that you can use the computer's writing interactions with

Two of my favorites not mentioned are
- Pregnancy Progress Controller by CmarNYC: lets you pause, speed up, or end pregnancy and choose how many babies you want. I mainly use it so I can see how long I've got until the baby comes and what we're having.
- Retuned Attraction System by Fentonparkninja: Changes how the attraction system that came with Seasons works. I use the Easy Variety flavor.
Also big fan of anyone who makes pregnancy compatible clothes. Seeing the same 3 outfits for every pregnancy in a legacy gets old real quick.
the attraction retuner sounds cool... literally every time my sim starts their job they are in love with their co-worker or boss instantly lol
I can practically replace the first mod with a master controller and a debug enabler, with MC you can stop and remove pregnancy, control the gender of the child and in twins. Debug enabler has the function of entering the time that has passed before contractions started and there you can see how much is left. Other functions of the debug enabler - you can clone things in sims' luggage, unlock the knowledge of a chemical potion, and prepare alchemical potions without ingredients. Additionally, it is used to decorate the building
I kind of hate that this game was programmed on a Texas instrument calculator by mutated rats on adderal but on the bright side it forces me to rely on such a talented modding community!

The mods I have are:
1. NRAAS - it’s been a year since I’ve had it and I feel so sad for players like me who never knew it existed! It changed my life so much.
2. Cooking & Ingredient Overhaul - Adds more ingredients for making food because the base game ingredients are soooo limited.
3. Autonomous Fun in the Sun - Makes townies and my sims autonomously do water related things when at the beach or pool more frequently. Very impressive
4. Hot Beverages Add Energy Mod - Coffee and beverages need to give my sims energy lol
5. Wedding for inactive mod - Can allow my inactives to get get a wedding at parties which NEVER happened before
The coffee giving an energy boost sounds like an amazing mod! Also fun in the sun would be great, I just installed island paradise.

Rabbithole rugs - allow to create custom rabbit holes. For example you can delete the rabbithole restaurant and build a real restaurant. Your sim won't actually sit behind a table while dining, but you will at least be able to furnish it and see inside.

Beside technical mods by Nraas I like having in my game default replacements by Alverdine sims. She made recolors for umbrellas, taxis, ice cream truck, beach towels and more. Now all sims in my game have elegant navy blue umbrellas, and taxis are in cadet blue color. Also there's mod for grid to be visible only on active floor while in buy mode. It's also by her.

Literally use every single one of these mods so I agree with this mod list being everything! the only one I don't use is the gray UI I use like that modern one that's still being updated cuz I kind of like being jarringly thrown back into the old blue UI when I'm using create a Sim. (One of like the niche mods I use probably is advanced genetics module for nrass, I use a lot of sliders when I'm creating my Sims and I kind of push the Sims 3 to its boundaries if you know what I mean.
I think a lot of these are what us hardcore players have grown accustomed to, but players rediscovering the older games sometimes find modding older games daunting and intimidating... I know I did
I'm sorry I can't relate to enjoying that blue UI haha, but I do understand how certain things can be enjoyable when they are linked to a positive memory. All I remember from that UI is my university laptop melting and crashing when I try to recolour my counter top.

I also want to mention the "clean UI" mod !! It makes the UI a lot more simple and minimalistic. It's not completely finished (sadly), but i still think it's pretty cool !

These are great mod suggestions! I will definitely bookmark this list for when I get back into Sims 3. Another mod I was introduced to recently is Super Hamper created by Nona Mena, which automatically picks up your sims' laundry without having to put a laundry bin in every room! This is another mod on my list to download that just makes your sims' lives a bit easier! ☺

NRAAS is hands down my favorite Sims mod ever. I have almost all their mods!
Also, when I was deep browsing through troubleshooting something I even heard they were going to make an attraction system mod 🥺 But that was something I read all the way back 2 years ago and I don't really know what happened to it now

I have a lot of gardening mods to expand on it since even in Sims 2, it's my favorite activity. And since Sims 3 expanded on that, I love it even more. And with the flowers from into the future, there's a lot of mods that let you use them for like potions and recipes which I think is really fun! (I've downloaded and carried them with me for a long time so I don't remember who they're by though.)
Gardening is something I do for financial reasons (most of my sims start with $0 or $1800 lol), but these mods make it sounds much more engaging. I loved ts2 gardening and even plant sims

I'll have to look into these mods when I go to fire up the Sims 3 for the first time. since now that I have expansions like Generations, Late Night, Showtime (confusing as it was), University, and even Seasons.

Try it out! I mostly do poverty style gameplay, but someone said the mod wasn’t working anymore ... but if that’s true then one of my other mods has the same feature so I’ll have to dig x
its small but significant, my favorite sims 3 mod makes them choose a book they haven't already read before when you select "read something" on the bookshelf lol
but of course nraas specifically story progression has really made me enjoy ts3 lately

I only use Nraas mods. It's enough for me. Strangely, I don't use cc at all when it comes to sims 3. Not because it lag the game but the customization is already enough for me.

Yes I do as well, I try to not keep too many in together (like expansion packs lol) but these are the ones I always have in .... I’m traumatized from a bad experience in the sims so I ALWAYS save now haha

I have recently downloaded mods and haven’t lost my save files just make sure u download them right there’s a lot of tutorials
And back up your save files so just in case there's an error you can copy/paste them back in.

Hello! Can I install mods, extension packs and cc if I have the sims 3 on android?
One thing that turned me away from Sims 3 was it's story progression. I like controlling who's having babies and naming them, so Sims 2 has always been perfect for me. But the progression controller you mentioned might help me find more love in Sims 3 then appreciating some of it's features from a distance. I actually am setting it back up on my computer to give it another go.
You can change so many settings, like having households Not have babies

90% of it is the lighting mod from the video. I don’t have a pro gaming my pc or anything like that, just a simple set up I built on a budget.

Is this nraas story progression good for the general story progression of the town? Like the fact that neighbours will have kids and change nothing in their houses? I never played rotation but thought about it a lot to fix this. Like those family members that left as fiancée and never get married!
Also is it just me that after some generations at the same house it can take 1 sim hour to be able to leave the house?
NRAAS is God and amazing. Can't play without them.
I also love all of Sacrificial's old mods (especially awkward moments and humiliation). They make gameplay fun, and if I ever get bored, I like to torture--err, experiment with townies while my sim is at work or whatever >:) always makes me laugh and livens up my play session.
NRaas and lazy dutchess literally saved the sims 3. Sometimes I torture sims, it just depends on who knocks on the door.
The violence mod is more funny than scary. I use that now and then.

i personally use a golden ui mod, the monotone ones feel a bit drab to me but also the blue is harsh on the eyes and i felt like having a change after several years unmodded
im also gonna try out a faster gardening mod since i like having my sims grow their own produce but tending everything can take several sims 12 hours TT
There is a pink/purple UI as well which is personally too bright for me, but some people enjoy. I really like changing mods like that every so often though, so I might try the golden one
Let me know if you find something good for faster gardening, I definitely also find that to be very time-consuming for my poor Sims.

At the moment my current laptop won't play the Sims3 , but at some point in the future I plan to return to it when I can replace my computer. (2-3 years probably) The Sims 4 is unplayable without mods and barely playable with them. I had no idea what a MOD even was when I was playing the Sims 3 years ago. I had never heard of them. Good to know that they exist so I can fix glitches etc when I get back to it.
Can you run TS4 smoothly? What is your spec? If you have a newer laptop, but TS3 is unplayable, there may be a problem.

Ok theirs an nrass saver mod that gets you to save like every half and hour (you can also change the time it tets you to save)
A few other people have mentioned this, I swear I am so good at saving but the times I don’t remember are the times everything crashes on me... I think I’ll make it my #1 for the next list haha

i have multiple mods downloaded as well as cc but for some reason every time i try to download a lighting mod it never shows up in my game:( any thoughts?
Tha almost always because you have 2 or more lighting mods In Your game at the same time
A mod that wasn't mentioned in the replies but that to me is essential it's the 'Nectar Glass Repalcement', it changes the nectar glass from WA to the cocktail glass from LN.
Others are the 'Savvier Seller' and 'Business as Unusual Bistro' and 'Shooless' cause sims shooing each other in the bathroom pisses me off

@@Rekowcski it's a functional Dine Out, only you can also choose different shifts, chef and waiter wages separately. Only con I can think of is that you have to know who is unemployed in your world

Is there a mod that fills the clubs in late night? I saw one called master controller, but it makes my game laggy as hell. Do you know of another one? It's just such a shame to play this expansion with so little people at the clubs :(
Hmmm usually after an hour at the club people start showing up, do you have nraas overwatch installed? It helps sims get to where they need to be

It's better to fix you cpu detection check in you documents you log file, if you game is rating you cpu less than 3 it's reducing the max number of sims, you can edit the graphical rules to force the game to rate you cpu as 3 this will allow the game to push the sims it wants it's better than to use a mod, cause the mode sometimes force sims to be on the dance club that should not be there for example sims that should be working or other stuff.

I don't mean to sound adversarial by disagreeing, but I'm just not certain how a gray UI is "cleaned up". Does it resolve the wasted space in the Skills? Does it fix the cluttered and disorganized inventory system somehow?
well they didn't even fix it in sims 4 so you might have to wait until the sims 5
Ok so i got the sims 3 and a select few dlc (supernatural, university life, into the future, and seasons) and for some reason i have the scrapbook without having generations.

The mod in the sime 3 I can't live without (besides most nraas mods) is the one where it forces your sim to buy groceries or grow and harvest vegetables to be able to cook ANYTHING. I don't remember what the name of the mod is but it's legit so amazing cuz it helps me with realism in the game and ads an extra challenge to the sims

how do you get your sims to look as good as they did in CAS? mines look fine in cas, just watered down in game, I have high sim details.
I am using skin and eye default replacements. If you google that you can find ones you like!
@@Rekowcski I have eye and skin replacements, along with lighting mods, my sims just look like potatoes outside of cas lol.
@@ohno7153 honestly i'm not great at create a sim, i get lucky sometimes with the random button then make small changes.... the trick is that you need a distinct feature, like a big nose or weird forehead (sounds weird, but it works), to make their face less flat. The shadows i find I really help take away the potato aesthetic

There are a few UI mods but they often don’t work well together. Try googling it but Malle sure you only stick 1 in at a time.

Ever since I put in error trap last year I haven’t had that problem, but of course this monster of a game attacks our computers in different ways. If it ever pops up again (it used to a lot) I will definitely put in the auto save, thanks for the tip!

For the UI, I went with Justmiha's. It's also a clean UI.
I'm kinda confused with the Lighting mod. Is that only for the scenery or the "lighting" in-game from the lamp (because I actually got weird lighting in the ultra setting, like too bright/too sharp)? Anyway, after some searching, I think I will try to play around the Moonrise Kingdom 5.0 because I want the latest version the most, and there are so many options... plus the Skyrim Starfield for the sky (not sure when I will literally stargaze it :D

I downloaded so so much custom content. But for someone reason thousands of the downloads arent appearing in the game after installing 😭
Did you install them using the launcher? Sometimes you have to manually do it, but I’m no expert since I rarely use cc ):
Yeah if they're .sims3pack you have to install them with the launcher. .package files will appear in your game as long as they're in the packages folder

Colour is just so important to me when building (which is always Lol), so I like the blue out of the picture to distract BUT the blue is also super nostalgic so I do understand your view x

no, they encourage mods and custom content, they have since the sims 1
The only mods they don’t let you use are these nasty mods for sims 4 that have all sorts of perversions on it like woohoo with animals etc..cannot remember the name but it’s just horrible. I do use extreme violence on sims 4 though … just to make it more interesting !!

my risky is set at 10 or 15% usually, and somehow dina always ends up pregnant on day 1 with mortimer lol

I'm so sorry but always when I hear someone complaining about UI being to colorful I just want to cry. For me blue of The Sims UI gives it personality. When everything is greyscale it just looks cold and emotionless for me. Also "stylish redisign"? Can you really call turning saturation to 0 a redesign?

@@Rekowcski my family is okay but i can't go back in and save my build! i renovated an aurora skies house for them, but it won't even let me go into edit world and save the lot without crashing :/ so i just had to move them into a different town to forget about the pain of my lost renovation
Well I’m glad the family is okay, but my favourite thing is building so I would be so upset if I lost a renovated house for my own family. TS3 building is quite tedious so it’s not like 4 where you can just click 5 times haha

2024 the sims 3 memory system was part of a patch patch 22 if you have just the base game as long you update your game the memory system will be there
Since sims 4 basically breaks for me like once a year every year after updates I may just go back to the sims 3.
I uninstalled sims 4 months ago. I mostly play 2 and 3
4 is a bore. I hate the closed world 😔
I have never had it break as such, but it is literally unplayable without a junk-yon of mods and at the moment, with the BS EA app switchover, it literally won't launch. Emails keep saying that they are "prioritizing" fixing it, but I am livid that I literally can't play a game that i paid for. I have wanted to return to the Sims3 for a long time. I will be trying in the next couple of days to re-install it. Maybe that graphics card and other efficiently mods (other video) will help get 3 to run on my laptop. I hope so, EA in regards to the Sims 4 is just getting outright abusive. I still have all my discs, so I have no idea how it will work regarding download.
There's a mod that let's the game detect your current gen graphics card so the game will run better. GPU addon support.
I use a seperate program for that so if you have it handy please link the mod I can share it in my discord.

Runs great if you do a couple small fixes! My game play has been seamless and I don’t have a top end pc or anything
@@Rekowcski I pulled the trigger and reinstalled it. FPS limiter apparently keeps this from being a major issue. Thanks for the heads up!
Google “lazy dutchess smooth patch” it REALLY gets rid of the create a style lag.

also... does anyone in these comments have a problem with sims NEVER autonomously seeking love when they have the woohooer mod on? i have autonomous flirts and what not on so my sims can choose their partners without me being forced to... but they just dont. is anyone else having this problem? or is there a fix?

For the woo hoo well wooho means with pill and rubber and try for baby means without it . So i dont see a use off making the normal woo ho risky
Rubbers don’t always work so I like a small percent chance ;)
... but it totally depends on your game play. I just like babies everywhere, there’s lots of things other simmers use that I don’t bother with :p
