I don't think it was supposed to be anything important, more like an excuse to get the cast back together, tie up the loose end about the Queen and her bodyguard, and get the chance to mattress surf while also singing karaoke.
It's also kind of funny how Disney channel films often have a message about being an individual when pretty much all Disney channel stars have the exact same clothing style and hairstyle. All the guys have the same side-parting bowl cut, and all the girls have the same medium-length wavy hair.

11:32 Wanna know something else that's wrong with this scene? Denmark has an actual royal family... why not choose his name to represent Denmark? I get that maybe they weren't allowed to do that, but couldn't they have at least, you know, given this fictional Danish prince a Danish name instead of, you know, a SWEDISH one? x'D
The reason the first movie worked so well for a lot of us was that it was RELATABLE while still being comedic. As teenage girls, we found it compelling. Maybe none of us ever became princesses in an incredible twist of fate, but we all went through feeling left out, having conflicts with our friends and families as our lives changed, feeling like we didn’t fit in, wanting to change things for the better and not knowing how. And even as adults we still love it because we may not be teenage girls anymore, but we remember how all of that felt. All of that just goes right out the window in this movie. No teenage girl could relate to this movie or any of the relationships in it and that’s sad.
And no doubt ending the movie in a massacre where he kills every worthless soul in the room. Watering the ground with the blood of royals and innocent civilians
Genovia's a weird place, you can abolish laws when you aren't the ruling head, and can retire from being the ruling head to live the rest of your life with your newly wedded spouse.
Boy, this film is dated, especially considering that Prince William is now married. For realsies. Also, don't worry, Hector Elizondo. You'll be in Last Man Standing and the LEGO Batman Movie soon enough.

whats sad is when I was little, the part where she was shone all the jewelry and when they had the royal slumber party , were the two main parts of the movie I wanted to see. XD
09:24 I mean you could argue that most Disney Princesses find a "boyfriend" within 2 or 3 days, but most Disney Princess movies don't even end in a wedding scene
Ironically the TV made, much cheaper budgeted film 'Princess Protection Program' was much more in tune with what a Royal should be. Even in the fake part about 'Homecoming Queen' it has the teacher explain how the candidates must be exemplary girls that contribute to the community. Any chance for a review on that film?
This is the problem with books being turned into movies, everyone has their own idea of how things happened and their own idea of what the characters look like. It doesn't matter how well these things are described in the books, everyone will always have their own view of how things should be and they'll have their own expectations of how it should be if it were turned into a movie. When I read a book, I know for me at least, it's like a movie playing in my head, I picture how I see things and my mind takes it from there. But when a book is made into a movie, everyone is expecting their own version of the book and how they imagined it to be. Not everyone will have the same image and going to see a movie that's based off of a book, you have to go in understanding that the creator made the movie based on how he interpreted the book. Point is, it's going to be different for everyone.
though sometimes an adaptation are just shitty movies on their own. *THE HOBBIT* or the book was already bad. *READY PLAYER ONE* or they simply didn't care about adapting nor even try to do their own thing. you get the idea...
Did she go to Community college? You don't graduate at 18 and finish university at 21 unless you are RIDICULOUSLY hard working. And considering what we've seen of Mia's life up to that point, I doubt she busted ass to finish in 2 1/2 -3 years.
Jazzypants2007 It’s not common but it is possible. It all depends if her Highschool allowed college credits or the amount of requirements for her major.
@Arjun and Arnav Menon What? Malcolm and Doug were fighting over a PS3 controller. PS3 controllers have four small lights on the top. PS4 has one large one.
How do they specifically know Mia's horse (Sandy) is easily spooked by snakes? Do they run into a lot of snakes while riding horses? Do they throw snakes at each horse just to see which ones are scared of snakes in case they're ever in this exact situation to need to sabotage someone riding it? I want answers, damn it
I am so glad someone disliked this movie as much as I did. It crushed my little 8 year old heart seeing this shitpile back in the day and it bastardized the actually good (!) source material that were the witty Princess Diaries books. Garry Marshall couldn't direct his way out of a cardboard box.
Actually, the Barbie Princess & the Pauper movie teaches you more about being royalty than this movie does. Thinking back, that movie was one of the best in my childhood, because it was a fun, well written story that had interesting female characters and a good message. That was before the time when barbie movies were nothing but pink rainbow barf. That movie was so much better than this one in every way, and the songs were phenomenal.
I love episodes like this that make Hyper both pitiful ("I've never been happier in my whole life" aw) and really scary (y'know, kidnapping someone). Tamara's an amazing actress.
I really like how the bodyguard hates the critic and is serious but over the course of the video he grows to like him as he does the same, their friendship is cool. And I think we need more of them in the future.
So? He didn't do anything illegal it was JUST a kiss, and he didn't force her, she could break away the kiss at any given moment, but she didn't. Plus this is a MOVIE- FICTION ever heard about something like that? Also, men asking for permission to kiss women are disgusting mood killers, something like that is completely NOT romantic.

I don't think it was supposed to be anything important, more like an excuse to get the cast back together, tie up the loose end about the Queen and her bodyguard, and get the chance to mattress surf while also singing karaoke.
Welcome to the Metaverse Just like how I feel about the upcoming Lps series.
Chexpet He still makes a good point though.
It's also kind of funny how Disney channel films often have a message about being an individual when pretty much all Disney channel stars have the exact same clothing style and hairstyle. All the guys have the same side-parting bowl cut, and all the girls have the same medium-length wavy hair.
Welcome to the Metaverse Basically the MLP movie in a nutshell. And just to be clear yes I mean the new one, not the one from 1986 though I’m sure that was just as bad.
18:30 "obviously I met Chris Pine; and he made me wet" still not the best comic timing but that's the first time she's made me laugh, pretty good one
11:32
Wanna know something else that's wrong with this scene? Denmark has an actual royal family... why not choose his name to represent Denmark? I get that maybe they weren't allowed to do that, but couldn't they have at least, you know, given this fictional Danish prince a Danish name instead of, you know, a SWEDISH one? x'D
"Let's go watch Expendables 3 while reading Jane Austin!!" ~ Best line ever.
1:30 - "I aim to please." lol, that is such a great/terrible pun!
The banging of the pots will forever haunt my nightmares.
22:38-22:48 I loved Tamara's Dora bit. That was really funny.
That’d be awesome in that Dora live action movie.
I would love this movie if at the wedding the villain said "The Lannisters send their regards."
Stannis Baratheon Oh it would have made things so much better.
And no doubt ending the movie in a massacre where he kills every worthless soul in the room. Watering the ground with the blood of royals and innocent civilians
Not to mention the fact what kingdom crowns a new leader when the previous one is alive and well
Genovia's a weird place, you can abolish laws when you aren't the ruling head, and can retire from being the ruling head to live the rest of your life with your newly wedded spouse.
The Netherlands did it.
Japan too
Royals abdicate all the time tf?
@@ZadnoleyaEdits But can they be thrown out?
23:14 I don't think Julie Andrews was acting when she witnessed that...
So.........Princess Diaries are now part of MArvel Cinematic Universe????
Nope.
This was before captain marvel started
The best thing about Princess Diaries 2 is that, through the books, Meg Cabot was able to openly criticise how little sense it made.
As a teenage boy I actually liked these movies. Maybe it was because of a celeb crush, or I legitimate laughed at how dumb it was.
The VGC Sometimes, we don't even understand ourselves, man.
The books were decent though. Of course they were nothing like the movies.
Alexandra jackson Yeah. The queen is more likable in the movies.
The first film is harmless.
The VGC I still do. It's ironic enjoyment
Alexandra jackson I loved the books. They were hilarious and relatable since Mia seems more self-deprecating in them
...by the Gods, it all makes sense now!
*begins frantically writing Star Trek? Princess Diaries fanfiction*
Please can I have the link to it when your finished?
Boy, this film is dated, especially considering that Prince William is now married. For realsies.
Also, don't worry, Hector Elizondo. You'll be in Last Man Standing and the LEGO Batman Movie soon enough.
Plus the fact he was already dating Catherine when the film was released
Last time I was this Britain, EU was still early
What???
Saaame
23:49 sums up my thoughts on this comment quite nicely.
+Annoying Nerd ....he switched around the popular joke that has been floating around UA-cam since Brexit....
Brandon Roberts Were you that guy that replied to me in that Caddicarus Little Stuart video?
A video game of The Purge actually sounds like something of a good idea.
A one day long videogame
Did you ever play the shitty State of Emergency that came out in the early PS2 days? It'd probably be like that.
+Harperlarp You just reminded of a bad experience i had back in the early 2000's when I just a little kid.I was tried to look up the website on the internet and while it trying to connect it made a loud beeping noise that scared back
to bed and that was back when you needed dial-up to connect to the internet, but I thought that the game was fun because it brings back wonderful childhood memories.
William Crockette I'm glad I helped you relive some cool times.
It has already been done, it's called GTA
whats sad is when I was little, the part where she was shone all the jewelry and when they had the royal slumber party , were the two main parts of the movie I wanted to see. XD
"I have definitely underestimated the perks of dating a psychopath"
... Greatest quote of my life
09:24 I mean you could argue that most Disney Princesses find a "boyfriend" within 2 or 3 days, but most Disney Princess movies don't even end in a wedding scene
Ironically the TV made, much cheaper budgeted film 'Princess Protection Program' was much more in tune with what a Royal should be. Even in the fake part about 'Homecoming Queen' it has the teacher explain how the candidates must be exemplary girls that contribute to the community. Any chance for a review on that film?
i grew up with this movie, and oddly enough i loved this movie more than the first one. I know it's bad but i love it anyway
Gwen I respect your opinion but this movie made me bored 😐
Gwen Yeah me too! XD
What did you love about it if you don’t mind?
Me too!
I love how in the beginning Doug is scared of Malcolm and by the end they're bros.
So Chris Pine can put on his resume that he has scored with both Catwoman and Wonder Woman
That wasn’t actually Chris Pine’s character that got with Wonder Woman. It was Handsome Man according to the credits, and he never gave consent.
To be fair, often events and characters that were memorable in the books are cut or added in movies.
though sometimes an adaptation are just shitty movies on their own. *THE HOBBIT*
or the book was already bad. *READY PLAYER ONE*
or they simply didn't care about adapting nor even try to do their own thing. you get the idea...
My mom got this from the library when I was a kid because she thought it was the Princess Bride
Oh My god! I feel so sorry for You!
Jesus Christ, I mean the princess part of the title she got right, but everything else is way off
You poor poor bastard.
Off topic: Princess bride is one of the best movies ever hehe
27:25 one of the best Red Wedding jokes ever. Laughed so hard when I first heard that.

@@Mariokemon a secret romance that is secret to nobody
13:21 That better not be a slam against the Muppet Babies. Y'know Stan Lee made a cameo in that show, too!
Really?
That’s true?
she graduated college, not high school. she's 21 and her mom is pregnant, which you see in the beginning.
20:38 In defense of Vanilla Ice
1) it was the 90s 2)his song was actually catchy 3) it had better context
I kinda like both that and this.
(I’m a weirdo.)
Nostalgia critic is the realest youtuber out here teaching us how to be better people and shit damn he's amazing
Uh... Yeah...
Tony Styles He tells it like it is, man.
OK, I'm sorry, but I can't deny it. I find those maid girls legitimately funny. They are so awkward and ridiculous, I can't help but crack up at them.
NOOO YOU HAVE FALLEN FOR DISNEY’S DESPERATE WRITING jk I’m glad you actually enjoy them lol
Don't think i didn't notice that ps3 controlller wasn't synced!
Got to bring the important issues up!
@Arjun and Arnav Menon Even I knew that.

Fun fact, the line "let them eat cake" was actually never said and was just propaganda by the french revolutionaries
"I have definitely underestimated the perks of dating a psychopath."
XD - One of the Nostalgia Critic's best lines.
Fun fact: The little girl being teased at the parade was Abigail Breslin.
And her brother, Spencer, was prince Jacques in this film
Just gonna point out nostalgia critic gave some of the best relationship advice without even thinking
"I have DEFINITELY underestimated the perks of dating a psychopath"
Every time I see John Rhys-Davies in a role, I keep expecting his dimensional counterpart and the rest of the Sliders to pop in.
For the love of God, that Jack Nicholson scene made me choke on my food laughing.
It seems like every time the the scene where the maids bang the pots together, a good joke dies.
I constantly get Princess Diaries and The Princess Bride mixed up. i dont know why.
*Princess* Dairies
*Princess* Bride
Gee, I WONDER why...? 🤔
That's ok, I often confuse The Last Starfighter with Flight of the Navigator.
Santa Christ vs rob
Nostalgic critic vs Doug
Benny vs Malcom
Hyper fan girl vs Tamara
If I got the names wrong someone tell me
Nope, right on the money!
Honestly, given how royalty usually works, the two of them should've just got pushed into marrying eachother in the beginning. Problem solved.
Last time I was this EU, early was still in the Britian
What is that meant to mean?
Just being stupid, no meaning/originality intended
+Annoying Nerd I know my country is no longer part of the EU, but what???
+ThatZennyBee ok
+Annoying Nerd people were saying "last time I was this early Britain was still in the EU" I just switched the word order
The ending of this, the part about trying to give the other person everything they want and that not being real love, hits me so hard.
I wish you and Tamara did more reviews together personally☺️
I love episodes like this that make Hyper both pitiful ("I've never been happier in my whole life" aw) and really scary (y'know, kidnapping someone). Tamara's an amazing actress.
I really like how the bodyguard hates the critic and is serious but over the course of the video he grows to like him as he does the same, their friendship is cool. And I think we need more of them in the future.
Aren't Mia and that one guy like distant cousins? He has to be related to King Rupert making him related to Mia
Did Chris Pine even ask? I mean what the hell, he force kissed her. Grounds for Sexual Assault especially when she said "get away from me". The hell.
its Disney. Interpret that however you want
So? He didn't do anything illegal it was JUST a kiss, and he didn't force her, she could break away the kiss at any given moment, but she didn't. Plus this is a MOVIE- FICTION ever heard about something like that? Also, men asking for permission to kiss women are disgusting mood killers, something like that is completely NOT romantic.
yes you are right but I'm pretty sure this line was a joke
AquaMarina ah yes asking for consent before kissing a person? How disgusting and unromantic.
yeah it can be a mood killer showing a huge lack of social skills or confidence depending on body language and n a movie he'd prolly just come of as a dork
I definitely wouldn't care if Tamara kidnapped me and forced me love her at gunpoint.
It wouldn't be forced, would it?
