I can agree that if you put your heart into it, you could make some amazing music on the Genesis (case in point - Thunder Force IV). Shame a lot of the music sounded like someone using a circular saw on a metal sheet.

(you young 'uns might not know controlling the speed of the ship gave you an edge and was a big part of the game) The rock guitar! It's too good! I'm using too many exclaimation marks!
