YOU ARE MY HERO! I had it all figured out until the "clip" part, which was making me crazy. I added electrical tape over the gap at the top, which it probably where the water was coming in, to finish it off. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video I have a 2017 Kia Forte too and I’ll need to replace my light soon too. Just one question why did you get a whole new tail light? Could you just replace the bulb?
You probably didn't notice, but the tail light housing was cracked and taped over. No, you do not need to buy a whole new light housing just to replace the brake lights.
We have water in both taillights as well. We took it to Kia they said they fixed it but they didn’t. There both 1/4 full of water. I thought they would replace since there slime in there now. Idk if any of you have suspension issues as well. Dealer unable to find cause of those issues as well.

Theseus Crabb ok understood and no I didn’t look hard enough lol
Timbuktu G No worries!
I cleaned potato chips to this!
I have water in the passenger rear taillight.
If there's water or moisture in the tail light housing it could be a bad seal around the bulb or it could be a cracked housing.
I have the same issue with my rear tail light as well

Regular wenches should work just fine, you might have some trouble with the two nuts near the carpet wall.
